Now, I'm not a car expert.

I only passed my driving test a year ago.

But I take great interest in pronunciation

and I've done my research, and I'm here

Right, let's get started with the lesson.

Okay, so I've got 10 car brands in total.

這次一共有十個汽車品牌

Let's start with the Italian ones.

讓我們從義大利車廠開始

The first one, this one.

第一個

A lot of people call it Alfa Ro-meo,

許多人喜歡稱它 Alfa Ro-meo

because it sounds like Romeo and Juliet,

因為它聽起來很像羅密歐與茱麗葉

but it's an Italian brand, so it should be

但因為它是個義大利品牌

Al-fa ro-MEY-oh.

所以它聽起來應該像是 Al-fa ro-MEY-oh

So it's not Alfa Ro-meo, it's al-fa ro-MEY-oh,

The next one, not such a common brand,

but I have heard it referred to as a Lan-cia,

and it should be lan-cha, lan-cha.

但它應該唸做 lan-cha

Now the next one, number three,

再來是第三個品牌

is a very expensive car brand,

一個非常昂貴的品牌

and we tend to pronounce it incorrectly quite frequently.

而且我們很經常唸錯它的名字

A lot of people might say lam-bor-gini, or lam-bourg-ini.

許多人可能會唸 lam-bor-gini 或是 lam-bourg-ini

It should be lam-bor-ghee-nee, lam-bor-ghee-nee.

但其實應該是 lam-bor-ghee-nee

So it's that bor sound.

聽起來像是 bor 的發音

I don't think we have to worry

但我認為不用太在意

too much about the rolled r's

R 的捲舌音

because not everybody can do that,

畢竟不是每個人都能做到

but we should at least try bor, lam-bor-ghee-nee.

但我們至少要把 bor 給唸好，lam-bor-ghee-nee

The next one, isn't maser-ah-ti, it should be

接下來的並不是唸做 maser-ah-ti

mazz-uh-ra-ti.

而是 mazz-uh-ra-ti

I think you'll be forgiven if you say maser-ah-ti.

但其實唸 maser-ah-ti 也無妨

(laughs)

(笑)

Okay, the next one, a German car name.

下一個是一個德國的品牌

A lot of people might say Aw-di, but

許多人叫它 Aw-di

if we're going to be like the Germans,

但如果想聽起來像個德國人

we need to say ow-dee, ow-dee.

那就必須唸 ow-dee

The next one, another German car brand,

再接下來是另一個德國品牌

this one I did mention in my brand video.

在之前「12 個常被念錯的品牌名」這部影片中有提到過

In the UK, we always call this Porsche,

在英國我們通常稱它為 Porsche

but it should have a schwa at the end,

但其實他在最後有一個 ə 的發音

it needs to be por-shuh, por-shuh.

所以聽起來應該像是 por-shuh

The next one, another German one.

下一個也是德國品牌

This one, volks-wagen?

volks-wagen？

In Germany, they would say follks-vah-gen.

在德國大家稱它 follks-vah-gen

The v makes a ff sound, and the w makes a v sound.

v 發成像是 f 的音，而 w 則是發 v 的音

Follks-vah-gen, follks-vah-gen.

Follks-vah-gen

Okay, the next one is possibly the most

好，接下來的這個

complicated one we have on this list today.

應該是今天最難唸的品牌

It's a Swedish car brand.

一個來自瑞典的品牌

I don't even know what I would call this,

我甚至不知道該怎麼唸它

I would just give it a go.

我應該會唸

Ko-enig-segg, ko-enig-segg, ko-enig-segg sounds beautiful.

Ko-enig-segg，Ko-enig-segg，Ko-enig-segg 聽起來真不錯

It should be kuhn-nig-seg, kuhn-nig-seg.

不過應該聽起來像是 kuhn-nig-seg

Now the next one, we've got this one.

進入下一個品牌

A lot of people would call it shev-ro-let.

許多人稱它 shev-ro-let

People get confused by that T on the end,

大家可能對於最後的 t 會感到困惑

but it's not pronounced, it is shev-ruh-ley, shev-ruh-ley.

但其實 v 是不發音的，聽起來應該像是 shev-ruh-ley

And the final one, and this is the one

再來是最後一個

I'm going to struggle with most

也是我覺得最難的一個

because it's not the french uh sound.

因為它並不是法式 uh 的發音

It is this one.

就是它

It often gets pronounced as citron or citroën,

它通常被唸成 citron 或 citroën

but it should be pronounced see-troh-en.

但其實應該唸作 see-troh-en

But you could just say cit-roen, see-troh-en.

不過也可以直接叫它 cit-roen 或 see-troh-en

Man, I don't know if I'll ever

我不確定我是否可以

be able to master the French car brands

徹底了解法國的汽車品牌

but maybe I'll just buy Italian ones.

但可能會直接買台義大利的車吧！

That being said, I've got a Mini Cooper.

雖然說我買了一台 Mini Cooper
