    或是小酌一番呢?

  • Well, you're actually using,

    嗯,你其實用了

    為什麼 take 是個很特別的動詞

  • the nouns that you can use it with,

    告訴你可以用 take 的名詞

  • and then I'm going to go through

    然後還會講到

  • the phrasal verbs that have take in them.

    有 take 的片語動詞

  • So let's get started.

    所以,我們開始吧!

  • Ah!

    啊!

  • Before we start,

    在開始之前

  • Okay so what makes the verb, to take, so special?

    好,所以到底是什麼原因讓這個動詞,to take,如此特別?

  • Well the answer is,

    答案就是

  • it's what we call a light verb.

    它是我們所謂的,輕動詞

  • It's also known as a delexical verb as well.

    也是為人熟知的功能動詞

  • And other verbs in the light verb group are

    其它同為輕動詞家族的有

  • have, give, make, do, and go.

    have、give、make、do 跟 go

  • You might remember that I've already done a video

    你可能記得我有拍過一部影片

  • on make and do.

    有關 make 跟 do

  • And light verbs are verbs that when used on their own they have very little meaning,

    輕動詞是當它們單獨使用的時候,它們本身的含意不大

  • but when partnered with another noun,

    但跟其他名詞組在一起時

  • they have much more meaning.

    它們會有很多意義

  • And there are specific nouns

    而且是特定的名詞

  • that go with specific light verbs.

    會跟著特定的輕動詞使用

  • So today I'm going to talk you through

    所以今天我要告訴你們

  • all of the nouns and situations that take can be used with.

    所有可以使用 take 的名詞跟情況

  • Okay so to take can go with

    好,所以 「to take」 可以跟

  • washing nouns and resting nouns.

    洗滌相關的名詞,休息相關的名詞使用

  • To take a shower.

    淋浴

  • To take a bath.

    洗澡

  • To take a rest.

    休息一下

  • To take a nap.

    小睡一會兒

  • And to take a break.

    還有休息時間

  • A couple of examples,

    給你幾個例句

  • I need to take a shower before we go.

    在我們出發前,我需要先沖個澡

  • And why don't you take a break?

    為什麼你不休息一下呢?

  • Now these nouns are not strictly confined to to take.

    現在,這些名詞沒有嚴格限制要用 take

  • You can often use have in many of these situations,

    往往你在這些情況下可以用 have

  • but knowing that these verbs go with to take

    但知道這些動詞跟 take 相配

  • will certainly help you with your writing,

    一定有助於你的寫作能力

  • and also when it comes to understanding native speakers.

    還有也能讓你更好理解母語者

  • Okay so now we've got some more examples

    現在我們再舉一些例子

  • of how we can use take.

    說說我們怎麼使用 take

  • We can use to take with care,

    我們可以跟 care 連用

  • and this has two meanings in this case.

    在這個情況裡有兩個意思

  • We can say, "Can you take care of my cat?"

    我們可以說,「你能幫我照顧我的貓嗎?」

  • And this means can you look after my cat.

    這意思是你可以幫我照料我的貓

  • Or take care when walking alone at night!

    或是說,晚上獨行時要小心!

  • And this means be careful when walking alone at night.

    這個意思是,當你晚上獨自一人在外要小心

  • Then we have a photo.

    然後我們要說 photo

  • I often hear, "Can you make a photo?"

    我常聽到,「你可以『做』一張照片嗎?」

  • or "Can you make me a photo?"

    或是,「你可以幫我『做』一張照片嗎?」

  • Make would be create with my hands.

    Make 會是用我的雙手來製造

  • So we use take.

    所以我們會用 take

  • Can you take a photo,

    你能拍張照片嗎

  • can you take a picture?

    你可以拍張相片嗎?

  • We took loads of great photos!

    我們拍了很多好照片!

  • And a risk, so again we don't make a risk.

    然後是 risk,所以再說一次,我們不會用 make

  • We take a risk.

    我們承擔風險

  • I'll take a risk and tell her I love her.

    我會冒著風險跟她說我愛她

  • That's a big risk.

    那是個很大的風險

  • Always think twice before doing that.

    三思而後行

  • Okay then a look.

    好,然後是 look

  • Take a look at my new iPhone.

    看看我新買的 iPhone

  • That's what you use

    這裡就該用 take

  • when you're showing something to somebody.

    當你要展示某個東西給某人看的時候

  • A walk, we took a walk in the park.

    walk,我們在公園裡散步

  • Nice thing to do after lunch.

    做為午飯後運動是不錯的一件事

  • And then finally to take advantage of.

    最後是,take advantage of,趁機利用的意思

  • Let's take advantage of the good weather

    趁著天氣好

  • and go to the beach.

    我們去海灘吧

  • Now please remember that to take advantage of

    請記得,take advantage of

  • can be both positive and negative.

    可以是正面也可以是負面的

  • Sometimes you're taking advantage of something in an unfair way.

    有時候你是用不正當的方式佔到便宜

  • So an example would be,

    舉個例子

  • don't take advantage of my generosity.

    不要因為我慷慨就佔我便宜

  • Don't use my generosity to your advantage.

    不要把你的利益建立在我的寬宏大量上

  • Okay now we're on to our beloved phrasal verbs.

    現在,我們要來談談這些親愛的片語動詞了

  • Note this is just a list of

    注意這只是一些

  • what I consider to be the most important ones.

    我認為非常重要的片語動詞

  • If I went through all of the options

    如果我要講完所有的片語動詞

  • it would take hours,

    會需要好幾個小時

  • so I'm not going to put you through that.

    所以我不會這樣折磨你

  • So the first one is to take off.

    第一個是,take off

  • This has two meanings,

    這有兩個意思

  • so I'm hot, I'll take off my jacket.

    我很熱,我要脫掉我的外套

  • Then we have take up,

    下一個是 take up

  • which is to start a hobby or sometimes a habit as well.

    意思是產生了一個業餘嗜好,或有時候也可以是習慣

  • So I've recently taken up skiing.

    我最近對滑雪產生興趣

  • Or I've recently taken up smoking.

    或是,我最近開始抽菸了

  • The opposite of that would be to give up.

跟 take up 相反的詞是 give up

  • I've given up smoking.

    我戒菸了

  • I've given up skiing.

    我放棄滑雪了

  • Okay, then we have to take over.

  • Okay, take away.

    好,take away

  • She took my phone away from me.

    她從我這拿走電話

  • Okay and this again means removed,

    好的,這也代表除去的意思

  • but in this case she removes it

    但在這個例子中,她把它除去

  • and puts it in another place.

    然後放在另一個地方

  • Take out.

    Take out

  • He took me out for dinner.

    他帶我出去吃晚餐
