Today we wanted to talk about this topic which is: Can you handle gaming with a Core 2 Duo in 2017?! Well, yeah! Wait. No. Yes you can. No? Probably?! Almost?! Well we're not showing off a high-end cpu right here as you can probably tell, this video is dedicated to those who want to get the best of their wallet without fully emptying it, so we're talking about budget gaming, in general. Now "Core 2" or "Core Duo" is a CPU series launched back in 2006 and it's continuous production lasting untill 2011. It was a new era of Intel, after relegating the Pentium Brand such as the classic Pentium 4, Pendium D and Pentium M series. The first ever MacBook launched from Apple included a Core 2 Duo proccesor and the whole MacBook series had it untill 2011. So let's not start praising this CPU with these glorious facts, but we gotta say, at its prime, this was the mainstream Proccesor, just like the 7th gen i3, i5 or i7's are right now. So having this cpu back in 2006 or 2007 was a huge deal. And now you can get this for 10 bucks on Amazon, while at launch it costed 140 to 170 dollars, clocked at 3 Ghz with a 6mb cache. Speaking of this Core 2 Duo e8400 CPU, let me tell you a little story.. After a few months i decided to build a budget PC that could run me games like GTA V and CS GO at a price no more than 200 euros, or 215 USD, but i ended up spending 250 euros or 270 dollars just for the case and the dude gave me a 19 inch monitor for free, no apparent reason he just wasnt using it, so anyway that guy promised me a Core 2 Quad, a cpu with four cores for those of you who dont understand the "Quad" reference, and we ended up building it with a core 2 duo e8400 instead, we couldnt find any new or used Core 2 Quad CPU .. Now i know all of you guys are gonna call me an idiot for getting a core 2 proccesor from the last decade for a new pc but i've already gotten a LGA 775 motherboard, so it was the motherboard that only supported Core 2/Pentium/celeron series. All this shit cost me 270 dollars !! Oh and we havent gotten to the worst part yet.. Please check out these full specifications of my current rig: Did you fucking see that?! a motherfucking GT 730! And not even the GDDR5 version! .. So what i'm saying is, if you plan to buy a budget gaming pc at a price point below 300 or 250 bucks, dont even bother watching this video any further, What you're about to see next is a performance of my current pc handling some triple a titles. Now most of you are assuming ill overclock it to 4.2 Ghz or even higher, but no, the proccesor will be performing at stock speed. Oh and one more thing.. if you're planning to get a GT 730 as i did, make sure, just make sure that its the GDDR5 version, NOT the one i own. Don't expect high framerates or settings on the upcoming videos, this CPU IS NOT MEANT FOR GAMING ANYMORE, it can run CS:GO tho..
