Now, when I mention idioms in my English classes

Now, I do like weather-related idioms

I use them a lot

but this particular idiom

meaning it's raining a lot

它的意思是下很大的雨

I just don't tend to use it!

我不會用到它！

So, I want to give you some idioms that are relevant

所以，我想要教你一些相關的慣用語

that we do use a lot

是我們常用的

So, here are three cloud-related idioms!

所以，我要教你 3 個跟雲有關的慣用語！

So my first cloud-related idiom is

第一個跟雲相關的慣用語是

every cloud has a silver lining

每朵雲都鑲有一條銀邊 (黑暗中總有一絲曙光、塞翁失馬焉知非福)

and this is my absolute favourite idiom in the history of idioms

在語言歷史的眾多慣用語中，這是我非常喜歡的慣用語

because it's so positive

因為它的意思非常正面

It means that out of every unpleasant or difficult situation

它的意思是在所有不愉快或艱困的處境中

there is always something positive

總是會有一些正面、積極的事物

an example of this would be

用它來造個句子的話

I got fired yesterday but

我昨天被炒魷魚了

at least I can spend more time writing the book I wanted to write

但至少我有更多時間來撰寫我想寫的書

So, every cloud has a silver lining

Quite a funny alternative to my favourite idiom

相對於我喜歡的慣用語，有個很有趣的反面慣用語

which is every cloud has a silver lining is

跟「每朵雲都有一條銀邊」相反的是

every silver lining has a cloud

每條銀邊都伴隨著烏雲

Which means that every positive situation

意思是，每個好的局面

also has a negative one

也可能有不好的結局

but let's stick with the original

但我們就記住原本好的那一個吧

My next cloud idiom is to have your head in the clouds

我要說的下一個慣用語是，你的頭在雲裡(心不在焉、不切實際、做白日夢)

If somebody has their head in the clouds

如果某個人的頭在雲裡

it means they are out of touch with reality

就代表他們脫離現實

Their ideas are not logical, nor are they practical

他們的想法沒有邏輯，也不實際

An example of this would be

舉個例子

Lucy has her head in the clouds if she thinks that she's going to reach 10,000 subscribers by the end of the year

如果 Lucy 覺得她在年底可以達到 1 萬訂閱，那她真是做白日夢

maybe you could subscribe and help me

My next cloud-related idiom is

我要說的下一個跟雲有關的慣用語是

on cloud nine

在九層雲上 (非常開心、樂翻天)

and if somebody is on cloud nine

如果某個人在九層雲上

it means they are elated or extremely happy

代表他們非常高興、興高采烈的

So when I finished my exams last week I was on cloud nine and drinking wine!

所以當我上週考完試，我超開心的，也喝了點酒！
