  • Ugh!

    呃!

  • Not again!

    怎麼又來了!

  • [5 Common British Expression]

    [5 種超道地的英式用語]

  • Thank you!

    謝謝!

  • Hi guys! It's me!

    嘿,大家!是我!

  • I'm here in sunny London.

    我人正在天氣晴朗的倫敦。

  • That's British sarcasm there.

    這是一種英式的諷刺。

  • It's extremely cold today.

    今天非常地冷。

  • But, I wanted to talk to you about some of the common British expressions that I hear and use more or less every day.

    不過,我想跟你們分享一些我幾乎每天都會聽到或是用到的英式用語。

  • So, let's get started!

    那麼,讓我們開始吧!

  • So, the first one is 'All right?'

    所以呢,第一個是 “All right?”

  • And this really means 'Hello, how are you?'

    而這事實上是指「嗨,你好嗎?」

  • Some people get confused and think it means 'Is everything ok?'

    有些人會搞混,以為它的意思是「一切都還 OK 嗎?」

  • Really, it's a very general question.

    說真的,這是個很普遍的問句。

  • It's a nice way of greeting somebody.

    也很適合用它來跟別人打招呼。

  • So if you hear someone in the street say 'All right?' you can say 'Yeah, how are you?' as a response.

    所以如果你在街上聽到有人說 “All right?” ,你就可以說「很好,你呢?」來作為回應。

  • Ok, so the next one is 'I'm easy,' and this would be something you use when somebody asks you to make a decision and you don't really mind.

    OK ,那下一句是 “I'm easy” ,這句話的使用時機通常是在別人要你做出決定,而你其實沒什麼意見的時候。

  • Would you prefer Italian or Chinese food tonight?

    你今晚想吃義大利菜還是中國菜?

  • Mm... I'm easy.

    嗯⋯ I'm easy。

  • It means 'I don't really mind.'

    它的意思是「我其實不在乎」。

  • Ok, the next one is 'on about,' and this means 'talking about.'

    OK ,下一個是 “on about” ,而它是指「講、說⋯」

  • Ok? So if I say 'What's he on about?', I'm really saying 'what's he talking about?'

    懂嗎?所以如果我說 “What's he on about?”,我其實在說「他在講什麼?」

  • Ok? It can be used quite negatively, so if someones talking too much, you could say 'what's he on about?'

OK 嗎?它的用法可以是比較負面的,所以如果有人滔滔不絕講得太多時,你可以說 “What's he on about?”

  • So, my personal favourite of this list is 'Bob's your uncle!'

    在這之中,我個人最喜歡的就是接下來這句 “Bob's your uncle!”

  • And this, if you're not familiar with the phrase, may sound ridiculous, and it is!

    如果你和這句俚語不熟悉,你會覺得它聽起來很可笑,而確實如此!

  • may sound ridiculous, and it is!

    你會覺得它聽起來很可笑,而確實如此!

  • Err... we're a little bit crazy here in the UK.

    嗯⋯ 我們英國人是有點瘋狂。

  • But 'Bob's your uncle' is a phrase we use to conclude a set of instructions.

    但這句 “Bob's your uncle” 是我們在為一連串的指示下結論時所使用的。

  • to conclude a set of instructions.

    為一連串的指示下結論時所使用的

  • Like, for example, making a cup of tea!

    像是,舉例來說,泡一杯茶!

  • You need to boil the water.

    你必須要煮水

  • You need to add it to a cup.

    你要將水倒進杯子裡面

  • You need to add a tea bag.

    你要放入茶包

  • You need to let it brew.

    你要讓它泡一下

  • You then need to take the teabag out,

    你接著得把茶包拿出來,

  • and then add some milk

    然後加入一些牛奶

  • and sugar to taste,

    跟砂糖並嚐嚐看,

  • and then...

    然後呢⋯

  • Bob's your uncle! You've made a cup of tea!

    Bob's you uncle! 你泡好一杯茶了!

  • Ok, so this last one 'easy peasy'

    好,最後一個是 "easy peasy"

  • is something I used to say quite a lot when I was a child.

    我小的時候常常講到這句

  • But I might still say it every now and again.

    不過我現在仍會時不時脫口而出

  • Now,

    現在呢

  • this mean's that something is really easy.

    這句是在表示某件事物非常地簡單

  • The full rhyme is 'easy peasy lemon squeezy.'

    它的完整押韻說法是 "easy peasy lemon squeezy"

  • I don't recommend that you use this phrase in a job interview.

    我不會推薦你在工作面試時用到這句

  • But, for general fun and general conversation,

    不過,平常開玩笑或是對話時

  • it's absolutely fine.

    就完全能夠使用它

  • So, how was the exam?

    所以,考試考得如何?

  • It was easy peasy!

    It was easy peasy!

  • And then if you really want to go for it..

    然後如果你真的很想這麼用的話⋯

  • It was easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

It was easy peasy, lemon squeezy.
