Okay so today we're doing another "Sincerely Yours" video

which is where we take topics we get from y'alls letters in our P.O. box,

and we make a whole video addressing all of you guys at once.

And we haven't done this in a while, but we are gonna try it really hard

to start doing them a lot more often.

were in a long distance relationship for

a year and a half.

A year and a half too long.

It's a long ass time.

It is a long time.

So we get a lot of

letters that ask us like

how do you make an LDR work

like how do we make this LDR last.

Yeah. Its definitely one of the top questions I get on anything.

So without further ado

here are our "do's and don'ts"

in surviving an LDR.

Have planned Skype dates.

And don't bail on them just like you wouldn't if it was in person.

Not that there's anything wrong with

falling asleep together every single night

while you are FaceTiming or whatever,

but if you plan weekly or bi-weekly "date nights"

then it kind of makes it so

we are going to be together on this day at this time

for sure.

So if you have to bail on a random like

Tuesday night,

you don't get mad at each other for that

but if it's your planned Skype night,

then you can get mad.

And it also gives you the opportunity to come up with like

a creative , like, date night surrounded around

that night that you've chosen whether it's like

you guys are watching a movie together or

playing , like, Scattergories

we've done that a few times.

But yeah it gives you the opportunity to come up with like

an actual , like, date idea plan.

Plan trips to see each other as often as possible.

Ideally, have your next trip planned before

you're even done with your current one.

I think it makes it easier

to leave someone when you know the next time

you're gonna see them rather than

going in dark when you're saying goodbye because

it's way more daunting and scary and you're like

what if it's like four months?!

You've got to find the right balance of

keeping in touch with the person

who obviously means most to you, but

also not forgetting or putting

relationships that are right around you

on the backburner.

If you're in college or high school or

just anyone living your life, and

you're neglecting your friends and people

that are around you everyday,

that is going to affect your life.

So, find the right balance of

talking to

the one you love

and the ones that you love that

are around you everyday.

Make sure you're in love with the person

and not just the idea of them.

it's more of a cautionary thing to keep in mind.

fall in love with the idea of

constantly having someone's attention or

being able to text someone

when you're having a bad day, but

just because you like the situation might

not mean you really love the person.

So just don't build them up to be

someone that they aren't.

Really get to know them and

love them for them, not for

the relationship.

When you're in a long distance relationship

there's a lot of opportunities

to feel insecure or like

what are they doing?

I don't know what's going on

because you're not there all the time

which is why trust is so important

and obviously trust is something that

you need to build together, but

if you're not willing to give it

at all,

then it's never gonna work.

A long distance relationship will not work

without trust.

Another one

And last but not least,

if you love them more than you miss them,

then it's worth it.

Is it worth it?
