  • This is one crazy

  • vulgar movie and I really liked it. The Wolf of Wall Street is the story of

  • Jordan Belfort

  • a stockbroker in the nineties who rose to crazy the amounts of wealth

  • and even crazier antics. Directed by Martin Scorsese

  • this movie just embraces the insanity of a true story

  • with outrageous, oddball humor and some pretty powerful dramatic turns,

  • Jordan Belfort rises to become one of the most powerful

  • and influential men on Wall Street but he doesn't come by it honestly.

  • Deception and fraud or just his normal business tactics.

  • The movie shows how this wicked financial genius rises to power from a

  • young broker trying to get noticed

  • to a man who runs and owns his own firm, has a mansion,

  • a yacht, a beautiful wife and an appetite for women and drugs that would make Scarface

  • blush.

  • However his illegal business practices and his wild lifestyle

  • have drawn the attention of the federal government. Will the Wolf fall

  • just as quickly as he rose? When this movie came out there was a ton of heat

  • on it. People either loved it or they hated it. When it came to the stream I

  • decided

  • I have to see this and I'm so glad that I did. I really enjoyed the humor that

  • really is the core of this movie

  • but also the serious feel it would swerve in and out of.

  • Belfort's life is one of greed and debauchery,

  • and more greeted and even more debauchery, so shooting it as a drama

  • wouldn't have worked. By using comedy we get to see the depravity of

  • these people's lives and we actually become interested in them, we even care

  • about some of them

  • because we're laughing at and with them. The dialogue and interplay between the

  • cast is wonderful, it's

  • rapid-fire, yet it feels natural. I found out that they made up most to the

  • dialogue, they

  • improvised it on the set and I think that adds to the humor.

  • Now as crazy as this movie does get it never falls into satire or too much

  • slapstick.

  • It is serious at times. We see Belfort dealing with the consequences of his

  • lifestyle and his actions. We see that the people involved

  • they've got crazy lives but there's also depth to their characters

  • and we see that they care and love one another even in the cutthroat world

  • that they've helped create. I should stop being surprised by Leonardo DiCaprio

  • but she got me again. He takes Belfort and

  • this is a character we should despise but he takes the tragedy of this guy's

  • life

  • and makes us care about his. He also brings a hilarious mania to the role

  • that's gonna have you laughing so hard you're gonna need to rewind the film to

  • see what you've missed.

  • DiCaprio was the major force that got this film made

  • and it is hard work that absolutely paid off. We also get the career launching

  • performance

  • Margot Robbie who plays Belfort's wife Naomi. This proves that she is far more

  • than just a bombshell

  • this is an intense actress. And the rest of the cast just works so well together

  • I wish I had the time to do a point by point talk about everybody

  • but let me just say this: you're going to see a Howling Commando,

  • Shane from The Walking Dead, that guy from Superbad

  • and the king of "what the hell did that guy just say?!" Matthew McConaughey

  • all being great. I do want to warn you about how explicit this movie can get

  • with the sex and the drug use.

  • People are going to have their faces buried in mountains of cocaine,

  • having sex pretty much anywhere and anytime.

  • The director chose to add this into the film because he wanted to show how

  • insane these guys lies really were.

  • They're also able to pull this off because they financed this film

  • independently. Now even for a guy like me there seems they're like "Oh Yeah!"

  • other scenes like "Oh No!"

  • but this movie remained excellent at all times.

  • The Wold of Wall Street shows me why I should have studied

  • financing in college. It is a truly entertaining film

  • that pulls off complete and total anarchy and excellent film making

  • at the same time. A top talent director

  • and A-list actor got together and made a wonderful comedy

  • about a shockingly true story

This is one crazy
