I'm out on a Small Adventure today

I'm heading over this rise

because on the other side of here

there's a gorgeous lake

with a lil peninsula that sticks out into the lake

so I'm gonna try 'n get over there

and stealth camp on it

I've got my small tarp

and I think this'll be really fun

..if I can get there

let's give it a go!

so it's the end of March

spring has officially sprung!

although you wouldn't believe it

from the weather we've had recently

but hopefully we'll get a nice one

the forecast's a bit all over the place at the moment

but I think we've only got a mile or so over here (it's 2 miles)

I'm just following, like, game trails

mountain goat trails!

let's have a look over here..

I wonder if we'll be able to see the lake

once we get up here

ahh this is horrible through here

and still no view of the lake

I think we've gotta go all the way up and over that yet

that I wanna camp on tonight, stealthily

that's sticking right out into the middle of this lake

and it looks really cool

I don't think there's anyone about now but

got a couple hours until sunset

got a little area that I can put something down to sleep on

let's stick a ground sheet down

and we'll start making it all homey

big boys in the distance are still snowy

look at this so

down here I'm hidden

by this bit on my right

and the big rocky bit on my left

I'm in a little ditch

so no-one can see me

right let's go 'n get water

*gurgle*

some kind of pod

I wonder what's growing in there or living in there

how peculiar

can you hear that?

absolutely

nothing

the wind's dropped and it is so peaceful now

and this is so comfy in here

look at that

that's where I'm pitched

it's pretty cool huh

so I've got my sleep system sorted

apart from the mat

I've got the sleeping bag

inside my bivi bag

and I think

I'm gonna get the tarp out

'n maybe have it pegged in

down the bottom there

'n just have it ready

in case it does rain

and then I can just pull it over me

*rustle rustle*

yeh

so I can use it like that

just as a blanket

and if it rains..

I'll hide underneath it!

I'm gonna get my warm top clothes on

and we'll watch the sun go down

it's pretty much dark now

and I've had an entertaining hour

watching the geese floating around

and er, I think I'm gonna

blow up my bed now

cuz it's pretty chilly

and I'm getting hungry so

gonna do some noodles I think

yeh I'm loving laying here

I love sleeping wild like this

just out in the open

always feels kinda special

so cosy!

it's so quiet again

even the geese have gone quiet

maybe they've gone to bed

*lil lake waves sloshing*

freakin' gorgeous!

I think I'm gonna finish this and then

get all snuggly

and just look at the stars

cuz I can!

so I'm going to bed tonight

wearing my waterproofs

or my waterproof bottoms at least

I like to do that on camps like this

where I'm not sure what the weather's gonna hold

just in case I need to jump out

'n grab something or

sort something out

I fell asleep really early last night

a ways before midnight I think

which is unusual for me

so I've woken up really early

which is quite nice

Morning Guys!

it is ten past eight now

I thought I'd go back to sleep for a bit

because it's cold

so I've been warm & cosy in here

and erm

yeh the geese woke me up actually

being noisy this morning

yeh seems like a gorgeous morning

had no rain

I just don't wanna get out of this

?? *honking around*

well nice

here comes the sunshine

what a beautiful place to have breakfast

I've got my chocolate coffee

and a duffed-up pain au chocolat there

it's muffed up

and er, my geese friends

are over there

chillin' in the sunshine

aw it's so beautiful

'n I'm so warm & cosy in here

I just did the temperature inside my bag

'n it's about 30 degrees (°C) so

I'm really glad I bought my winter sleeping bag

for this weekend

cuz it was chilly last night

about 5 degrees (°C) but

with the wind as well

it felt sort of freezing really

and I was lovely in the sleeping bag

I have got my hand warmers on the go inside as well

so yeh it's been quite an experience sleeping here

when I woke up early this morning

and the moon was coming up over there

the sky went all pink

it was so beautiful

I thought I had a time-lapse running of it actually but

I accidentally took a photo instead of starting a time-lapse

so never mind

I don't think anyone's been along here today

beautifully quiet

but I think if someone had come along

I would have been really well hidden here

hiding like this

but yeh I guess I'll have this

and then get packed up

not that there's much to pack up

just the sleeping mat really
