open the Minecraft launcher.

Click the menu on the bottom left.

Here, you will see an option

that displays the latest version of Minecraft.

You can select this option,

then click the green play button

to launch the latest version of the game.

Snapshots are versions of Minecraft

that are in a testing phase,

allowing players to try out new features.

If you would like to play

the latest snapshot of the game,

click on "Installations."

Click the snapshots option on the right.

This allows you to play both

the latest-release versions and development versions

by switching profiles on the launcher.

Go back to the main page on the launcher

by clicking "Play,"

and from the menu on the bottom left,

select the latest snapshot.

Then click the green play button

to launch the latest snapshot version of the game.
