It is actually, I guess the rest of the part is fun to but I always love doing the inking because it gives everything a beautiful type of tone to it. Now I particularly like to use a brush in this case a red sable brush. Actually I should get a better one but it is a brush that will give me what is called a contoured line, a line that is both thin and thick. You can't get that with a typical pen. A pen you will notice are for straight lines but there is something sexy and nice and flowing with a brush that you can't get with a technical pen. I will demonstrate. I use blank ink, the blackest ink I can possibly get because I want to have that ice and dark and it will allow me to get in here like this and give me a nice contoured line. I try to keep it simple and sort of work fast, the same thing with this. Now wherever you figure your light source is then you figure a heavier line so I'm going to pick that the light source is coming from above so I'll go a little heavier underneath to emphasize that. With some practice you can really get a nice beautiful stroke especially when you have done this for a couple of hours, really get into a groove and your work really starts to come alive once you start making it and also if you become faster enough with the brush it will allow you to go in there and put all kinds of little textural things and like for instance I have a shadow on the neck here and it is sort of like that to emphasize that and if we go in here and do her eyes. Now I'm not worried if I screw up or miss a point because I can always go back and fix it, like with this particular eye I am going to go back and do a highlight. I'll do that with some pro white later but for now I just want to get the flow out. I don't want to stop. I don't want to get too precise and I don't want to make it look like it was done with an economy of effort. It has sort of a nice little breeziness about it without getting too overworked and too perfect I guess is a good word to put it although sometimes you can highlight like that, that size like that, got to have the eyes.
