All of the explanations are in English, so it might be challenging for you, but just try to imagine the meanings in your head and study hard and soon you'll be able to use these idioms in your conversations. Is everyone ready? Let's begin. Hello again! Today's idiom is: your call. Your call. Alright, so are we talking about on the phone, your call? No, not exactly. Let's picture we're at a soccer game and there's a soccer game going on and someone makes a bad move. And the referee pulls the red card, yeah, it's his call. He calls it red card, bad, you're out. It's his call. It's your call, okay? So, now let’s listen to 2 examples and think about the meaning some more. The first example: Is it okay if we talk about customs of different countries in class today? Of course, it’s always your call on what we discuss for class. Alright, so in this case, they're giving permission saying, 'It's your decision. It's your call what we do in class.' Alright, so let's listen to the next example. Do you think it’s okay if I make the call on where to eat for lunch? Of course, you always know the cheapest and the best restaurants! Alright, so he always knows the best place to eat, so it's his call, his decision. Alright, so in this case, 'your call' means your decision. I'll let you decide. It's your call. And it's a very casual way to say, 'It's your decision.' Maybe no pressure. If you say, 'It's your decision,' it sounds very serious, like high pressure, but if you say casually, 'It's your call, what you like,' it's a much more easygoing way to say it. So, next time you want to give the decision-making to someone else in a casual way, please tell them, 'It's your call. Let's do what you decide.' Okay, so I'll see you again next time! Good-bye for now!
