So I just want to kind of give update of what's going on in my world with the Corona virus in what's going on with Candies World with the coronavirus.

We both live in the United States.

I live in Florida, in the Tampa Bay area in Candy Lives in California.

Um, about believe it's about 45 minutes from L.

A.

But, um, you know, we're both being affected in different ways pretty much the same, but, you know, just kind of my record.

What experiences were both going through on different coasts of the country.

Um, as you know, this is a now a pandemic and has been declared a pandemic for about a week and 1/2 now and ever since has been declared that things have been going crazy.

Things just like change rapidly.

Every day there's new information and new changes, new updates, new countries, you know, shutting down their borders.

It's pretty much so, you know, just last month I went Teoh Guatemala, and that's when you know, we just heard that China had this virus and Wuhan and the whole city was shut down.

And so at that time, I wasn't very concerned.

I wasn't thinking about going to Asia anytime soon, but I was thinking, Wow, it's Guatemala or all the way on the other side of the world.

There's no way it will come to you know, this side.

And I thought the other travelers felt the same way I did.

We didn't feel any threat.

There's still a lot of people traveling at that time, and this guy next to me, I mean, he always he didn't care because he was coughing and see you think with this, you know, mouth open, not covering at all.

Which, by the way, even without a virus going around, you should always cover your mouth when you're sneezing or coughing.

It's just a general rule of thumb anyway.

So, yeah, so that was last month.

I had a great time in Guatemala.

I'm glad I went, because now traveling is on lock down pretty much.

And if you are traveling, it's not a great idea because you're at risk your, um, going even if you're young, you will pass the virus to some wells if you're exposed.

So I mean, there's all sorts of wrong with traveling right now.

Unfortunately, so candy was supposed to come visit me in April in a couple more weeks, and we're supposed to go to the grand came in and we're just last week or week and 1/2 ago, we were still gonna move forward with our plan because we didn't think in Florida and the Caribbean.

It was that bad.

Well, we were obviously wrong.

Things escalated really quickly after we discussed it.

And in the next couple of days, we finally decided, You know what?

No, we should cancel our plans.

Is that this Isn't gonna work is dangerous.

Hopefully we can go again, but not any time soon.

Sad.

But it is the best thing to do right now.

Anyway.

Yeah, just wantedto give you an update on what it's like in Florida this week.

So my company just told everyone to work from home.

Starting this week on Monday was a lot of restaurants closing in Florida in the Tampa Bay area, they just don't have enough business.

So and plus one of them are mature works, which is pretty popular here in Tampa.

It's like open food hall area, so it's like a communal kind of I've.

So they had to shut it down, because now the CDC says that you have to stay six feet away from everybody.

Other restaurants are only having you order take out.

And today actually went to fresh kitchen, which is really great if you ever come in Tampa, Fresh kitchen is awesome.

They have free, healthy food and it tastes really good.

But they do have signs, too, that say that, you know, post the CDC guidelines rules, saying that Hey, just stay six feet away from each other, which we did.

I think everybody is respecting the rules and trying to be careful.

Let's see my apartment.

Um, they were functioning at the beginning of this week, and then they decided to close down all communal areas.

So the pool is closed, the fitness centers close business and are seeing a room, the dog park.

Then the very next day, they sent out an email saying that they're closing their offices, so they were gonna be around for us to go into the office and ask questions.

So if we have any questions or any maintenance work, we are supposed to call them and or email them grocery shop being it was a bit of a challenge because people are going nuts and just buying loads of everything.

Okay, so this morning, I'm checking out some grocery stores.

I went to Publix first.

I really just want eggs and avocados.

That's all I want because I think I have plenty of meat for now.

I know you know me is hard if I know too well, it's actually chicken, because when I went to Publix, they still had some bread pasta.

So I just got a couple of those are like one bloke with bread.

And I got a couple of boxes of pasta.

No avocados.

A lot of the vegetables were gone to for some reason.

And no chicken, no chicken at all.

And but there is a lot of pork, a lot of pork and beef.

So I got a pack of pork.

I don't really pork anymore, But just in case and then, um, no eggs couldn't find the eggs.

So now my walmart to see if I could find eggs, but I don't really have high hopes.

Okay, so that's funny.

Chicken.

Okay.

So, success at Wal Mart, I was able to find chicken.

There's actually plenty of chicken eggs.

There's lots of eggs and avocados.

There's, like a whole pile of them.

So thank you, Wal Mart, for having all that.

Oh, one thing I noticed was that other things air out to, like vegetable oil.

The flower section, like all the, um, bake goods are kind of gone.

I was kind of surprised with the vegetable oil that was gone.

So I'm gonna keep my eye on that.

I do use fresh soil.

I've been told that it is best to go in the mornings because they get deliveries in the mornings.

And I have noticed that some stores are opening of the supermarkets early an hour early for the elderly, which is great.

And they have started rationing as well, which they should have done a while ago.

So that that what I've been doing at home eso you know, been working obviously, because I have to work from home and my free time.

I, you know, usually take UMA on a lot of walks.

I take her out more often now, just because I need the exercise too.

And then I also started working out in my apartment.

So just watch some, you know, fitness videos with pops sugar TV muscle teaching Kuma some new tricks cat video where they're reading this bill.

So I thought I would, like, try that new trick with Kuchma, so Well, they eso you.

Oh, and you know, I am skyping more with my family in Japan.

So they you know how this virus for a while now, what longer than we have And so, you know, we can do some of the effects from it from them.

They seem to be doing fine right now.

My youngest sister is still going toe work.

My mom is still going to work.

She works at a day care and my dad has retired, so he's staying at home.

But they need to be careful because they are elderly and the you to stay away from anybody that's carrying it.

No, but so far, they're doing fine.

It's just nice to, you know, catch up every week and talk to them.

All right, so that's it from my side of Florida.

Um, let's see what Gary's doing.

So I am in L.

A county.

This is probably the longest have been apart from each other for a while since you know, using when we're traveling, you know, we see each other every other month or every two months.

I want to say I started to become a little bit worry when my sister called me from Japan.

My sister and I, we have a little sister and our family.

They all live in Japan.

And 13 in the morning.

I get a Skype call from my sister and she basically was like, Hey, Japan just ordered that all schools be shut down and everyone's kind of a little bit of in a panic and all the facemask, certain time.

Do you think you can buy some face masks for me and melon to Japan?

Because I cannot find any.

And I was able to find maths here because at that point, there wasn't really much panic here in the US.

So then after that, it was so pretty calm will be here.

I mean, there was Of course, it was in the news all the time, but there was no closures.

It was just kind off a lot of reporting on how many cases were coming up in different areas.

I think it was a few weeks later when it finally kind of got pretty, like, what escalated so fast here from one day, everyone going about the business too.

The next day, after, um, the president had announced that he was gonna shut border or stop flights from certain countries As soon as that news came out the next day, I decided Teoh Well, actually, I used to go grocery shopping every two or three days, so I was like, Well, I might as well just go grocery shopping now.

And it was pretty busy.

Um, and the shells were starting to look a little better, but not that bad.

I wasn't going crazy with my grocery shopping just because I didn't think it was necessary to stock up on so much stuff.

And then the next day it was just full.

It just seemed, like, full on panic.

Move everyone.

Because when I would drive around like their reliance out the door to get in the grocery store.

And then when the weekend hit on Sunday, I was already out of meat, so I was like, I just, you know, go grocery shopping.

I kind of had ideal difficult, but I didn't realize how crazy things were going to get There were a couple.

There was a line outside rows, a line outside cater Jos.

I really didn't feel like standing in line.

Teoh go inside the grocery store.

Basically, they were starting a wine.

They're only letting I think 25 50 people in at a time when giving them 20 minutes 20 minutes to shop.

There were no signs everywhere saying that everything is last sale.

I think they were starting to limit how many I owns you were allowed to take when I was able to get into a grocery store.

Yeah, like all the meat was gone.

I think there's, like, some bacon and really, really expensive.

Like prime prime rib steaks, which I didn't want.

No bread, no eggs, no can food.

It was Yeah, it was pretty empty.

And there was me.

Finally, I was able to find some meat over at, um, sprouts.

So what have you been doing daily?

Um, well, I work from home, so not much has changed in regards to like them out of time I spend at home.

Um, I have been doing a lot more taking a lot more walks with my dog.

Can see her.

She's right there.

And surprisingly, there's a lot of people out about walking around.

Actually, I want to say more than usual.

Things are starting to close down more now.

You know, I you know, I've been getting all those emails and I have any emails I've gotten.

Now, you know, we're you know, we're aware of the virus and we're keeping a close eye.

But now I'm seeing that you know, the gym.

The gym that I usually go to is closed.

Restaurants and bars are closed, but they are still offering take out.

I don't know how long that's gonna last.

Of course, the post office is still which I'm glad because there are things that I'm still failing.

So because the gym is closed, I decided Teoh do workouts at home.

So I started that yesterday.

Hopefully, I can continue that and I think that's about it.

We decided to kind of just record what we're experiencing and we're planning on kind of giving a summary every week.

We will still continue to post our travel content that we have a lot of content of already lined up to share with you.

So we will continue to post travel videos, but we are currently traveling s I guess that is all for this week as stay safe out there.
