  • I love watching my audience dance before the show.

  • One of my greatest joys really in life, that and flossing.

  • And I don't mean the dance, the floss,

  • I mean don't neglect your gums everybody.

  • It's very important to floss.

  • There are great dancers in my audience

  • and then there are always people who

  • think they're great dancers.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • You never know what you're going to get,

  • and this gave me an idea.

  • It's a brand new game we're calling

  • "Do You Think They Can Dance."

  • [MUSIC PLAYING]

  • [APPLAUSE]

  • What's going to happen, there's Andy up there

  • with his broken arm and he is going to bring an audience

  • member into the aisle. tWitch and I

  • are going to guess whether or not we think they can dance.

  • If I guess right, I win.

  • If tWitch guesses right, he gets to keep his job.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • All right.

  • Andy, find somebody.

  • Oh, wow.

  • Ellen, I am here with--

  • Pablo.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • Hi, Pablo.

  • How are you?

  • Great.

  • How are you?

  • Good.

  • I'm good.

  • Thank you for asking.

  • Where do you live?

  • What do you do?

  • I live in Santa Barbara.

  • I'm a college student.

  • What are you studying?

  • Psychology.

  • Psychology.

  • All right.

  • By the body language it doesn't seem like you're raring to go.

  • I agree.

  • That's my guess.

  • A little shy.

  • A little shy.

  • You seem like quiet.

  • Shy.

  • Maybe that you don't--

  • You study a lot, so maybe you're not in a club partying.

  • Yes.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • I'm going to say that you can't dance.

  • That's not to say you're not a great person.

  • What do you think?

  • You know what?

  • I'm holding out for the surprise, because it's like,

  • you know, sometimes we give that person who is like super shy

  • and then the music comes on and they like,

  • oh I thought you weren't going to put that on.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • Yeah.

  • Like that.

  • I'm kind of getting that vibe from him.

  • All right.

  • Maybe he hadn't partied in a while and this is it.

  • Yeah.

  • Well at the end of the party you can't

  • tell if someone's a good dancer because everyone's drunk.

  • You right.

  • You right.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • OK.

  • Pablo, we're going to give you some music.

  • You prove one of us right.

  • [MUSIC PLAYING]

  • [APPLAUSE]

  • Pablo played me.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • All right.

  • You win nothing at all.

  • Sit down.

  • That was amazing, Pablo.

  • That was really good.

  • Yeah.

  • All Right.

  • [APPLAUSE]

  • Yeah.

  • Yeah.

  • Now I know when someone just like standing there like that.

  • Yeah.

  • I know right?

  • Yeah.

  • All right.

  • All right.

  • Oh.

  • Don't try to play like that lady.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • He tried to do that and we don't know.

  • What's your name?

  • Where do you live?

  • My name is Paula [INAUDIBLE].

  • I live in Honolulu, Hawaii.

  • OK.

  • [APPLAUSE]

  • Honolulu.

  • All right.

  • tWitch, what do you think about Paula?

  • Uh.

  • It's hard to gauge.

  • I don't know.

  • I just-- I don't know.

  • I'm open to being surprised, but I don't know about Paula.

  • Wow, tWitch is not really impressed by the fact

  • that I think you can dance.

  • I really do.

  • I think that you live in Hawaii.

  • And I think that you probably-- there's a lot of luaus.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • And you look like you're comfortable,

  • and I think you like to move a lot.

  • I'm going to say you can dance, Paula.

  • Let's give you some music.

  • [MUSIC PLAYING]

  • [APPLAUSE]

  • Yes!

  • Wow, Paula.

  • Woo!

  • Come on, Paula.

  • [APPLAUSE]

  • I knew it.

  • Wow.

  • Paula, you showed him.

  • I know.

  • Yeah.

  • I'd never doubt again.

  • Hawaii, stand up.

  • Yep.

  • Wow.

  • That was great, Paula.

  • Thank you so much.

  • All right.

  • [APPLAUSE]

  • OK.

  • All right.

  • Look at you.

  • Hi.

  • Hi.

  • What's your name?

  • Danielle Jorgensen.

  • Danielle, where do you live?

  • What do you do?

  • I live in Bakersfield, and I'm a hygienist,

  • and I am a stay at home mom.

  • All right.

  • How many kids?

  • I have three.

  • She must be a good dancer because she's

  • got three kids like--

  • Yeah.

  • --that's what gets you the kids.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • Yeah.

  • You know what I'm saying?

  • I mean, yeah.

  • The track record has been pretty great.

  • We've been two for two right now so I'm

  • feeling pretty good right now.

  • I just feel like she's a dental hygienist.

  • That's not great music in a dentist's office.

  • No.

  • They don't play great music in dentist's office usually,

  • but I just feel like you get home and probably crank it up.

  • Yes.

  • Right.

  • Yeah.

  • I think--

  • I feel good.

  • I think she can dance.

  • We both are believers.

  • Yeah.

  • Yes.

  • Show us what you got.

  • [MUSIC PLAYING]

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • [APPLAUSE]

  • I think those kids have kept you at home too long.

  • I think that, unfortunately--

  • it was a great effort.

  • Yeah.

  • Wonderful effort.

  • Really good posing.

  • You know the rugs are filthy, right?

  • I know I can't slide on them.

  • All right.

  • Well that's it.

  • You win nothing also.

  • But thank you for trying.

  • That's how you play "Do You Think They Can Dance."

I love watching my audience dance before the show.
