I mean zero disrespect at all.

The Portland and I'm not trying to build in excuses.

The reality they played out of altitude.

It's on Sunday in a Game seven and they come into this game and it felt to me a bit regular season, e or ish, if that's even a thing.

Same to, you know, I think it is.

What the feeling I got all night was that this was a really easy night for Steph and Clay.

So Well, I'm gonna preface about saying Game six against Houston.

I thought he was an overreacted to them to such an extent that they're supporting.

Cast had the easiest first half you can imagine.

I think Portland didn't give him enough treatment.

They didn't get touched, hit, hedged, held, grab none of it.

They just walked into shots all night.

And if this continues throughout this series, it's gonna be similar results.

And this is kind of what I'm talking about right here.

I mean, this is just basic ball screen basketball.

I mean, if you are going to give Steph Curry a clean screen a 28 feet and this is the guy defending the screener.

It's gonna look like that a lot, OK?

Not thought Clay Thompson actually had a lot of clean looks to and is a little bit more the catch and shoot.

This is basic basketball, because guess what?

These two guys are guards.

I mean, this just has to be a switch out onto Clay Thompson coming off the screen, and yet they look completely unprepared to defend this.

And you're gonna let Clay Thompson walk in square up, turn left shoulder.

You're going to get a lot of that in this series.

He shot 10 for 2040 probably at six naked looks that he didn't convert and then one more time, and it's just toward the end here.

This is one that really sealed the deal, but it's again talks about, like the softness with which these guys get played.

You know, this is just an easy basic screen.

Stuff comes off.

I just felt like their treatment tonight was were playing against a couple of dudes that are pretty good shooters.

I didn't get hit tonight at all.

Those guys controlled the action with with the defense of Portland play.

That's got to be a different story in Game two.

And I thought something Jeff said on the broadcast was telling, he said, When you win an emotional Game seven and you get to the conference finals after bowing out in sweeps and both of the last two postseasons, it didn't seem like they had the requisite energy necessary to win the game.

And, as Gregg Popovich likes to say, it is absolute depth if you turn it over against Golden State.

One thing that I'm afraid, Mike.

It lost in this game for Golden State because it away Stephan play played offensively was the job that Clay and Andre Iguodala did only on the rent and hounding Damian Lillard.

I just thought their one on one individual defense and pursuit and commitment really contributed to McCollum and Lillard never getting going in this.

Probably the undersold story no question about.

And I think one thing you've noticed from Andrea Goodall and the course of this playoff, something that I don't think you saw consistently throughout the regular season at his age.

Probably he's got to conserve energy, but this man is a basketball savant.

We get caught up in the sweet shooting nature of his game.

What if this gets tighter, if they can win a game?

Portland is that that, you know, shrink a little bit, But obviously all of the guys that are crucial to this to this run, they're gonna have to play high minutes and they're gonna have to guard like they did tonight.

I mentioned the numbers 11 of 31 from McCollum and little obviously that's not good enough.

You got to make shots and and they will Steve Curlew to do the rest when they have a tape to look at when they have some rest, how much will their attention be drawn to what they see and go.

We've got to ramp up every level of our effort to have a chance.

I mean, that's stage being bigger and something they're just not as used to.

Oh, yeah, and they're gonna look at that.

They're gonna be embarrassed by how easy they made it for their top two guys and do justice to make.

Steve Kerr did make one good point.

And a scanner is a guy.

That defense is gonna struggle, being that far in the floor on ball screens.

It doesn't matter.

You have to be out there toe force curry than to go around you also and make a decision with the basketball.

Steph Curry is on a level where he's coming off that screen.

If there's that kind of space, it's going to be a set result.

There's gonna be a certain percentage is going to be shot, period.

If canners out you, he'll get beat sometimes.

But at least then you're in scrambling, trying to get back into the play, and you make Steph do something else with basketball.

That's where they're going to be embarrassed because this was to me, this was almost like a mid season regular season night you know, for the Golden State Warriors and this is the conference finals, and in contrast to what they just went through with the flat out street fight, Houston talks to him.

They hit him, they grab him, they do everything they can to mentally try to get into the and physically and And what a sigh of relief now to come in.

And you get this kind of freedom in Game one without Kevin Durant.

Very interesting to watch tonight and I'm with you and you want you hesitate to frame it too much like regular season, cause I don't want it in any way to be dismissed.

Team, you know, it's tougher.
