Is the GM of a Western Conference team when the news is out there that eventually, uh, Anthony Davis will be headed to the Lakers, Obviously the another contenders forms that.

That's that's news for us that, uh, somehow we've been lost in the shuffle were the best team from the All Star break on.

And, ah, you know, we're going to add 1/3 star or ah, top middle of a player to our core and be better next year.

So for me, like the story of how wide open the West is in the power right there in the mix and probably the favorite going in the next year, we'll and I guess, is speaking with that level of confidence we knew in the past, you've talked about the sort of obsession and look towards toppling Golden State and getting past the team that has now kept you guys from your goal two years in a row.

Has any of that changed with the way the injuries and trades have now moved around the Western Conference?

Well, it's changed in terms of like the past couple of years.

We knew if we wanted to win the title.

We almost had to be Golden State.

That's obviously more of a question mark.

Now.

Now I'd say that teams want to win in the West next year, probably gonna have to beat us.

That's how I would think about it.

It was so looking at, you know, your team and the thought process going forward off any kind of moves to make how much of that changes with the Anthony Davis trade and with the injuries to Golden State knowing what kind of is projected next year of who's gonna be on the court and who won't for other teams, it doesn't change much.

I mean, we're obviously all in our goals are you know, there's a lot of top players available.

Top stars available.

There's one in particular were hoping we'll choose.

The Rockets that they dio, uh, were were open at them toe James and Chris.

And then, if not, we're gonna add it were we're gonna spend whatever it takes way.

We have midlevel available, and there's a bunch of top mid level players, so we're gonna have a six then are starting five most teams.

They're struggling to keep their starting five together we're bringing back to starting five.

That was 29 4 something down the stretch and obviously, you know, did extremely well after that as well.

And add 1/6 rotation players.

So we're excited about where we're at right now.

What's your take on that article and what you what?

You've heard about it?

Yeah, we have to high level competitors.

Kristen James who?

They're only going my foot.

This point is to win the title.

There have accomplished everything else.

They're both going to be a first ballot hall of Famers.

Uh, so oh, you know, basically all too competitive superstars at that level.

There's gonna be times when they're extremely competitive.

Extremely, uh, focused on, you know, how do we get to that next level and only don't.

There's gonna be frustration and, um, where I'm frustrated.

Our top players are frustrated Mike D'Antoni's frustrated.

We want to take the last step and be the champion.

And, uh, I think it's good that there's, I think it's good that there's tension in the sense that we all want to win while it can't happen just because somebody asked, It has to be, you know, a couple parties involved.

Has Chris Paul asked to be moved on from the Houston run now?

No, he has not here not.

And as faras the moves that you guys are looking to make.

We know you said you guys are willing to do anything We've heard reports that you guys are going to be aggressive going into this offseason.

Is everybody available as faras potential trades and moves like that that could be on the table for you guys?

Well, again, we're pretty aggressive.

We have a history of that, and sometimes I don't love that.

It creates a little attention because we are a go seven trade.

But if we see a trade that's gonna upgrade our team, of course.

Of course we're gonna do it on.

We feel like we we should be the favorite in the West, and we're gonna do move toe to show people that we should be the favorite in the West.

And that's going to create a little tension.

When when we do that.

Ah, but a t end of the day we're gonna we're gonna have at least are starting five back.

Ah, which again?

Most teams were scrambling to keep it together.

And we're gonna spend midlevel gonna spend into the attack.

We're gonna be one of the most expensive rosters like we were last year.

And this here and and we're gonna be right there.

Where are you?

Owner Tilman Fertitta and CEO Tad Brown on making sure Mike D'Antoni is locked up going forward because it seems like this has been sort of, ah, back and forth in the negotiations here.

Yeah, Mike and I are sort of amazed that all the all the noise about it, In fact, he and I were on the phone, I think yesterday, like, two days ago, laughing about it.

Mike's gonna be in the office today.

Ah, he's gonna be our coach next year.

We're hoping to work things out, you know, for the future.

Right now.

If we don't, we're gonna work it out after next season.

We love Mikey's.

He's the favorite of our players alike.

Top players love playing for him.

We're gonna work it out.

It's, uh, were the normal negotiation where sometimes you don't come to agreement right away.

But that doesn't mean that it's going to create any issues.

And it's been a little bit odd that, you know, public it's gotten.

Is there a timetable to it like if it gets past a certain point, you just table it for the entire year?

Or can it be on going through the year?

Uh, probably the some point we'll just say, Hey, we'll work it out after next year if we can work it out this year.

But for sure that's not in June.

Darrelle, you mentioned and we mentioned one of the other names involved in that negotiation process has been a new face in the last couple of years in your owner and Tilman Fertitta.

Is he someone that you've had to adjust for us.

He's someone that's all in on Mike D'Antoni as the head coach, since he wasn't the guy that hired him in the first place.

Yeah, he's been all.

He didn't hire anybody to be fair to him and credit to him.

He he recognized that he has a great thing here, has a great foundation of players and staff and coaches.

Ah, he's worked.

Teoh, lock us all up into the future.

Has been doing that one by one.

Sometimes those things have not gone as quickly as anyone wanted.

It took a little longer for me.

It took a little longer for some others.

But we always got worked out.

Tillman wants to win.

He's spending whatever it takes his authorized meeting on the tax for multiple years going forward, we're gonna spend whatever it takes.
