Foreign couples are much more open!

So wild! They are even flirting with each other in public.

Japanese couples don't do that. The most we do is maybe holding hands.

What flirty wild things are foreign couples doing? - I have seen them kiss right!

They hug and even kiss in public. I am like "wow".

What is so "wow" about it? - How do I say that...

They do things like this in a public area, when they want to do, not in their room.

They kiss right out in public on the street.

That's pretty audacious. Kisses and such... in the middle of the crowds...

They kiss! I mean that's like "wow"!

Japanese couples would never do that.

We don't right? - Like NEVER?

We don't see other couples do that. - Only when they are really drunk maybe.

But not when they are sober?

No we don't. - Japanese don't do that out of the room.

Why can you not kiss outside your room?

It's embarrassing.

Outside we only hold hands.

Foreign ladies are able to be assertive.

They are sexy and strong.

Yeah they are so cool.

Japanese women have to be personification of an idealized Japanese lady. Elegant.

When you look at the boyfriends, what makes them different from Japanese boys?

They really seem to be able to do ladies first properly.

Ah yes, letting me go first, him standing behind me!

I want my boyfriend to stand behind me, in the crowded trains.

I don't know this foreign concept of Ladies' first at all.

Is there something you envy when you see foreign couples?

The majority is too shy.

In Japan we do link arms or sometimes hold hands but...

If it's on the beach it's ok to wear that because others do it too.

In town with many people, that's a no. Too embarrassing.

So that would be embarrassing.

I think foreign couples tell each other "I love you" all the time.

They say kind words to each other.

Foreign boys show their love more than Japanese men.

Also foreign men are often said to be more manly?

Yeah they are very direct.

I envy that though.

They are so close!

I look at them in envy.

Yeah a little....

The way the boys escort their girls. Boys will walk on the side where the cars go...

Well they treat their girls differently...

They are gentlemen. They hold the doors open for their girlfriends at restaurants.

They walk on the side of the road with the cars on.

They are very close, and they touch each other a lot.

They express their affections physically too.

They hug, even though they are surrounded by other people.

They even kiss without being ashamed in public.

I think they touch each other more.

They are rather steamy around each other.

They're doing it.... like...

Do Japanese people see more physical affection as something bad?

It is.

I think Japanese women are more delicate than to do that.

They will feel sexually harassed if you hugged them in public.

So you think they won't like a hug from their boyfriend?

Japanese girls don't want to be physically touched.

Not as much as girls abroad.

If she wants me to I would give her a deep french kiss there.

That depends on her though.

In real life I don't think I could do that.

I prefer it when my girl does not show me any physical affections.

If a girl shows me affection, I get easily bored of her.

I am the type that quits the relationship if a girl comes on to me.

I like my girls humble and modest.

Do many Japanese men draw back when a girl comes onto them too strong?

If she's the type that don't show any affection, a little bit might be ok.

But showing a lot of affection is a real bother.

Many Japanese girls would like it very much if the guy was a gentleman.

Then again other Japanese people are like "wow that much affection, I couldn't deal with that."

It really depends on the person you are meeting.

When I see foreign couples when they come travel here...

They talk a lot more, they are very much themselves, very open

very chatty, very cuddly in public and

I love seeing that. It makes me very happy.

Especially seeing older couples. When I see older couples...

holding hands, it makes me so happy. You don't really see that here at all.

That's a thing I miss seeing, about foreign couples.
