In Japan I often hear Tinder is used to find friends rather than dating

She installed it because she was looking for friends. She has many job location changes

and won't have friends in those areas. If she has free time she will look

for friends in the area. That's it. - And

do you still have those friends? - I don't

Have you met people over it? - I have. About two

But only two. - Boys or Girls. - Boys.

So if you're visiting Tokyo and don't have friends you search for friends over it?

Yeah that's how I use it. And to kill time

messaging when I have time or meeting up.

If I meet boys and they seem like they want more,

I won't meet them again. - If they have ulterior motives you won't meet them again

I had a negative image yeah.

I thought that all people there have ulterior motives but

many people are using it and foreigners are on it too.

It's not a good idea to meet strangers easily and

you have to select the right app for it or you might get into trouble.

So Japanese girls are scared that they

might meet a different person than on the profile. - It's scary and how do we know

it really is that person? Anyone can put in a picture of a famous person

Do you think this will become a trend in Japan?

I think it's trending right now, compared to before

it's become easier to use them, similar to other SNS

but not quite the same. - It's trending and

I hope they will work on becoming saver to use

in the future. Then I would

actually try it too.

Japanese people use tinder to make friends is I think a

statement I've heard before and it seems to be that that seems to be a thing

for certain people, at least that first girl that we had in our interview that surprised me then again

she said that if she goes to a place where she doesn't know anyone she sees if she

knows anyone and if anyone wants to hang out. It's a way of

hanging out with someone not being along but NOT for dating. Once she feels that

the guys want something else out of that she just doesn't interact anymore

so she is purely looking for friendship which I heard before and I found it

interesting because the original purpose of Tinder is not making friends...

but hey if it works out for her it works out for her. Also story of a girl

finding her boyfriend over tinder, I think again that is a rare case...

I've heard... you hear those stories but then maybe that is again my

image that I have of Tinder. To me, what I thought that Tinder is more of

an app for hooking up with random strangers? But then again

I heard many other people saying it's great for dating or meeting people so you need to

teach me about that, I have no idea. How is Tinder being used

in your country I mean you clicked on this video. What do you use Tinder for

do you use it for friends, dating, hooking up, I am not judging

the people that are there might expect the exact same thing that you are expecting
