It's this one right here I've made bags and clocks and everything out of this and I'm actually gonna give this one to one of you guys. I may even Personalize it a little bit, for now. We've got a whole day ahead of us. So let's get going out All right So understatement of the year Tokyo has an abundance of amazing places To check out that Sakura or cherry blossoms, but the downside is most of them end up looking like this Now depending on what you're looking for that can either make or break the atmosphere and there are plenty of places without the crowds but most of them are either really small or hidden. So today I'm gonna share my three favorite spots that are anything but small but are definitely hidden. Since all the spots are fairly accessible from Asakusa we're gonna start in Asakusa today and despite the fact that I do own a bicycle I think we're gonna rent a bicycle because you can go to these places by train But I feel like it's a little more fun on a spring day to go out on a bicycle. You're gonna want to start by finding the rocks shopping center and on the other side of it closest to the street Underground is a really cheap bicycle rental place that I always recommend my friends when they come to visit me in Asakusa. It's even really hidden on the sign too. All right, so that didn't exactly go as planned They were out of bicycles, you know, and I'm just gonna zip home and grab mine. We'll be on our way. So that picture that I took for the print is taken right here It's an insanely popular spot and although it's almost dead now when it's in full bloom It's so beautiful. Let me take two seconds just to show you And this isn't even one of the spots that I wanted to introduce today. Its just I've been wanting to make a print for you guys From this spot since last year, but would you believe that just a couple dozen meters in that direction? There's an entire park filled with cherry blossoms and a waterfall that almost nobody knows about or goes to. Just around the corner, basically all you've got to do is Cross the road and you'll find yourself here at the entrance to ohyogawa-shinsui park. It's a really long name which is why I wrote it on the screen, but let's go this way And you'll notice that other than these kind gentlemen fishing quietly beside me there's not really that many people in the park What's more is above me are all cherry blossom trees and the sky tree is right over there Now this park is gonna give you a lot more than just cherry blossoms so I've done an entire video on it that I'll link right here. There's a lot going on in this park. In fact, this Park is several kilometers long I think it was like two point three Kilometers or something like that and to get from the crowded area of the Sky Tree to here Took me probably less than three minutes. It's literally Right around the corner and there's no people Now most of the trees above and around me right now are actually cherry blossom trees and This park hasn't opened up yet. So I can't show you just exactly how beautiful it is But in some ways that might even be good news for those of you who are coming soon and aren't quite here yet There are certain Sakura spots around Tokyo that do open a little earlier than others Like that spot right by the sky tree or at the entrance of Ueno park where there's two trees that open Famously early, you know what? Let's teleport there for a second Right in the entrance of the park here. There are two trees that open up early. That cat was probably my favorite part of this whole video so far and it's getting really warm like this jacket was very much unnecessary There we go and ducks Right there is still a lot more to show So let's get out of this park and head to the other side on Asakusa Once you've found the sports center the park is just on the other side of those buses so this park here will be really well known to regular viewers and to viewers of my other channel shamisen in Tokyo because I've been coming out to this park for Years to make music videos with two Japanese shamisen players called Kiki We chose this spot Specifically because this is pretty much always what it looks like even when it's in full bloom There aren't that many people it is a quiet hidden little spot and it's super easy access because it's right behind Asakusa in fact, this whole area has hidden little spots like this (Japanese) She stopped to ask me if she can walk through because she didn't want to ruin my shot And between the nice people all the hidden spots the Sky Tree in the background and everything This is a really good area just to explore with or without the cherry blossoms So I'm gonna link a video here that I did about the area From last year but to give you guys a feel for what the area is like when it's in full bloom Let me show you a few clips from last year And again Not that many people and every now and then rain hits and you're able to get a really cool picture like this one if if only the cherry blossoms are in full bloom at that point, but Speaking of night before I lose all my light. We should probably head to the next location, which is just down the river this way The park we just came from is there the park that we started with is beside the sky tree over here And our next park is gonna be down and around the bend of the river maybe about ten minutes by bicycle Also with the cool air coming off the water feels like the jacket isn't the worst idea. All right, let's get going And finally I wanted to show you guys probably my favorite park out of all the parks is by far the furthest of all of them But it also gives you..there's about a billion reasons to love this place. I mean Now admittedly this park does take the most effort to get to you can rent a bicycle or you can walk along the river It'd probably be about an hour's walk, but it's definitely worth it once you get here I could honestly go on and on and on about why this is my favorite park but I think the largest benefit that I could possibly share with you is That it's so quiet Even the people who do gather here and sit to enjoy hanami aren't loud and rambunctious And crazy like you might find somewhere like, Ueno Park It's just nice people peacefully enjoying the cherry blossoms And is there any better reason to come to a place like this? ohh, I'd be lying If I said I wasn't hot. Spring is definitely here now one of my goals for today with this video is I wanted to give you guys a Couple quiet or peaceful places to enjoy the cherry blossoms or sakura in the way that we always imagined them to be But I also know that not everybody can come out for the cherry blossoms Which is one of the reasons why that print that I showed you guys at the very beginning I'm giving that away to one of you that is provided you're interested in having it and all you've got to do is like this video Share this video somewhere and comment down below with where you share the video I will be selecting one winner for the print at the beginning of April and I may even select the second or third winner for like a little mini secondary prize At least let me know in the comments which one of these locations was your personal favorite I think we all get it by now that this was mine Additionally one last thing guys for those of you who have watched up to this far in the video All the links for these locations instead of putting them in the description box I put them in the comment that I pinned at the very top So if you hit expand you'll be able to click on links to the Google Maps location as well as all of the corresponding Videos for each one of these spots. Guys Thank you so much for joining this video I had a lot of fun making this one. I hope that you enjoyed it as well If you did, it would mean the world to me if you would give this video some love Otherwise if you're new to the channel, I would love to have you definitely consider hitting Subscribe, maybe watch one or two more videos and either way you guys know I will see you again real soon!
