  • -J.J. Watt, nice to see you, my friend.

  • -Nice to see you, my friend. I appreciate it.

  • Not quite the same without Questlove and the guys,

  • but it feels great to be on with you.

  • -No, you're right. How are you?

  • And where are you quarantined?

  • -I'm doing well. You know, I'm very fortunate.

  • I'm up in Wisconsin.

  • And we have a bunch of land up here,

  • and I have a gym on the property.

  • So I feel very lucky to be able to do

  • what I need to do for training-wise.

  • And my dogs are loving it more than ever.

  • I don't think they fully understand what's going on.

  • They get to go outside and run around like 50 times a day,

  • so they're in heaven.

  • -Any new hobbies under your quarantine?

  • Are you playing video games? Are you cooking?

  • What are you doing?

  • -Dishes are my new hobby. I am in charge of the dishes.

  • It's insane, man. I mean, it never stops.

  • You know, I guess I never realized it before.

  • But it's just dishes are me, laundry is her.

  • And I'm trying to cook.

  • I mean, I feel like every time I step in the kitchen now,

  • I feel like I'm on an episode of "Chopped,"

  • where, like, I have to come up with, like,

  • new recipes and I'm flambéing stuff.

  • And I don't even know what flambéing means.

  • -You're flambéing everything. Yeah.

  • -Yeah, wouldn't win anything, but there's a lot of fire.

  • I've set off my fire alarm three times in the last week.

  • -Oh, my. But you're from Wisconsin.

  • You should know food.

  • -Oh, yeah, I mean, I can throw a steak on the grill

  • and I can make some mashed potatoes,

  • but I can't do anything -- Like, I mean,

  • we've been in quarantine for what?

  • Like a month now.

  • Steak and potatoes gets old after a while,

  • so you try and -- We tried some chicken parm the other day.

  • Fire alarm went off there.

  • I'm not good.

  • -Hey, let's talk about your brothers,

  • if you don't mind, Derek and T.J.

  • They're also NFL players.

  • Derek just signed with the Steelers.

  • -Yeah, it's pretty unbelievable, man.

  • -With your brother. -Yeah. It's crazy.

  • You know, they were going through free agency,

  • and he had heard that the Steelers may be a possibility.

  • And the whole time, we were thinking, I mean,

  • it would be incredible if they got a chance to play together,

  • and now they get a chance to play together.

  • They're going to live in the same neighborhood.

  • I mean, it's a dream come true for them.

  • -Oh, my good-- And now who is mom going to

  • root for when she goes to the games?

  • -I mean, it's not fair for me.

  • I mean, they're going to -- She used to have a jersey that was

  • Chargers-Steelers-Texans, so it's 1/3-1/3-1/3.

  • Now it's going to be 2/3 Steelers-1/3 Texans.

  • So I'm pretty screwed in that category.

  • But, I mean, I will say Steelers fans are crazy.

  • I mean, Steelers fans have been in my Twitter mentions.

  • They've been on my Instagram page.

  • They've been creating these mock-ups like, "Come join us.

  • Come join us."

  • And I'm like, "I don't know if you understand how this works.

  • Like, it's not like you just pick up

  • and choose where you want to go."

  • -Yeah. Yeah, they want to draft you,

  • like fantasy football, yeah.

  • -Yeah. "Just come on over." "Oh, okay, sure."

  • But it's unbelievable.

  • -Good fans over there in Pittsburgh.

  • They got some -- That's a good food place, too.

  • Primanti Brothers sandwiches? -Oh, yeah.

  • Oh, yeah, delicious.

  • I've been there a couple times with T.J.

  • -Yeah, I got thrown out of there.

  • -Why?

  • -You can't ask -- Very nicely thrown out.

  • But you can't ask them for any --

  • You can't change the sandwich at all,

  • and I did not know that.

  • -What'd you ask for?

  • -I don't like mayonnaise. I'm not a mayo person.

  • And, so -- It grosses me out.

  • I just don't like anything tangy.

  • I don't like the word "tangy."

  • I don't like -- I don't know.

  • Anyways, so, they said coleslaw is on the sandwich,

  • and I go, "No coleslaw, because I can't" --

  • And they're like, "Get out, dude. Get out."

  • Next order."

  • And I go, "Well, it's just that I don't like --"

  • And as I was standing there, they go, "Just leave."

  • I go, "Are you serious?"

  • And then they just ignored me until I left.

  • -Wow. Well, you got a story. -I've been back since.

  • Yeah, I mean, I've been back since,

  • but it turns out that coleslaw does not have mayonnaise in it.

  • -Really?

  • -They could have just told me that.

  • -Yeah, that would have been the easier solution.

  • First of all, I thought coleslaw had mayonnaise in it.

  • -Yeah, I think it's a vinegar-based coleslaw.

  • -Oh. Well, there you go. Did you try it then?

  • -Yeah, I did. -And?

  • -And I walked out on my own accord.

  • -You won. You won. -Thank you.

  • That's all I was waiting to hear --

  • just someone telling me I won.

  • That's all.

  • We ask everyone who comes on our show to highlight

  • a charity or talk about something that they're close to.

  • We chose one for you, but you have one, as well,

  • because I have to bring up the J.J. Watt Foundation.

  • What you've done is kind of amazing,

  • and especially at this time in our world,

  • it's needed more than ever.

  • Do you want to explain what you do?

  • -Thank you. Yeah.

  • For the last -- Ever since I was in college,

  • we've provided after-school athletics for middle-school kids

  • in underprivileged areas.

  • And we hold a charity softball game every year.

  • And this year, unfortunately, we obviously had to cancel it.

  • But we're still forging on with our mission,

  • even though we don't have the donations

  • coming in this year, because, at some point,

  • kids are going to go back to school,

  • and they need something to do after school.

  • They need those sports to have

  • some semblance of normalcy in their lives.

  • So we're forging on with that.

  • And I also want to highlight Feeding America

  • because of all the great work that they've done.

  • You know, Feeding America is incredible.

  • We've worked with them during the hurricane.

  • And we have also worked -- Kea and I worked with

  • them during this time to provide meals

  • for people down in Houston and food banks all over the country.

  • And they just do incredible work.

-J.J. Watt, nice to see you, my friend.
