In 2002, I lost my job and the only other job I could get back in San Francisco at that time was a horrible job where I had to pick up the phone and call lawyers and sell them on technology. And I sucked at it. And I ended up taking a class that allowed me to access deep levels of mind, altered states to, get this, tap into intuition. Sounds weird, right? But I went back to work after that class and it unlocked a unique ability in me. Everyone else, back in 2002, used The Yellow Pages to figure out who to call, and the job of these people were to call attorneys on The Yellow Pages A to Z. But I realised that I could tap into these states I had learned to access, run my hands down The Yellow Pages and intuitively know who to call. And the result was, in one week, after studying this, I doubled my sales. I became such a believer I started using this throughout my life. For example, in my book, "The Code of the Extraordinary Mind", it took me months to write Chapter 8, but when I came to Chapter 9, something strange happened. One day, I woke up and I seemed to be in this different state, and I wrote the entire Chapter 9 in one uninterrupted span of around eight hours. And guess what? Chapter 9 became the chapter in the book that got converted into a film and nominated for an Emmy award. What was that state I was tapping into? This baffled me, this mystified me. And I want to share with you what I learned, so what I learned that caused me to download Chapter 9 in my book, that caused me to get promoted four times in the span of three months when I was a 26-year-old in this bullshit job in Silicon Valley, was a concept of accessing a particular level of mind to awaken yourself to intuition. And I wrote about this in "The Code of the Extraordinary Mind", but I never shared the class I took. Well, I'd like to share that with you now. It was a class by this man, Jose Silva. He grew up in Laredo, Texas, passed away in 1999, but he dedicated his life to teaching people intuition. I didn't study from him, he was long-dead when I took the class, but I studied from people trained by him. And then I got trained in this approach, and today, what I'm trying to do is take this approach to the next level via Mindvalley and bring this to the world. So maybe some of you have heard of the The 6 Phase Meditation meditation process I designed. It's been blowing up lately. This past week, a story came out in Billboard magazine, and LA Weekly, and Ebony magazine about the R&B artist Miguel and how he meditates to The 6 Phase Meditation that I designed before getting on stage at rock concerts. I've done trainings for athletes from every major U.S. sports team. I've talked about this on stage at Google HQ. And The 6 Phase is really just one level. The next level is being able to tap into altered states, and to bring these altered states into day-to-day life. That's what I'm exploring next. If you find these ideas interesting, if you've been bored with regular meditation and you want to figure out how to apply meditation to actually get better at life, at work, to tap into these altered states, for intuition, for creativity, you can take the course for free on Mindvalley. But what I'm doing next is I'm developing a two-day seminar to teach people altered states and how to tap into these altered states to activate their intuition. It's based on the work of Jose Silva, and Mindvalley plus the estate of Jose Silva have been working together to create this experience. If you want to check it out, link is below this video.
