Ruben Rojos lives in Santa Monica and has been painting murals for years. Beige ugly, boring, blinding walls are Norman shit. Like nearly 40 million other Californians, he's seen the businesses in his neighborhood temporarily close up shop. As Ruben passed one local bar, he was struck by how it looked and he's like, Yeah, go for it. So just scratching paint, put up a little message you can't quarantine. Love is the third mural Reuben has put up in the past 2.5 weeks. He also painted a mural that reads Love Is Standing six Feet Apart. In a nod to social distancing guidelines, another of his murals on a rooftop simply reads, Lived through love instead of eating it. You know, it kind of zoned out. People start talking. They start baking. He plans to keep painting murals during the pandemic and has asked local businesses who wants a color on their walls to reach out. He's also helping connect businesses with other street artists through his nonprofit Beautify Earth. There's opportunity to use Vicki Mary positivity in all these times. So being like I came up with friends can't quarantine love because it's the end of the day. Yes, reporting ourselves. We're doing that out of love for other human beings. But, Mom, it's so much greater, more powerful that we need to continue to spread it, share it, even with everything that's going on.
