  • Now, when we shoot the show in the studio,

  • obviously there are a lot of people involved.

  • There's producers, writers, editors, and right now

  • they're all working from home.

  • But I wanted one of my executive producers

  • to be here in case anything comes up.

  • Because we're all-- obviously, we

  • can't be near each other except for immediate family.

  • So we had a huge meeting, everybody

  • decided that it would be Andy Lassner,

  • or maybe everyone knows him better as Average Andy.

  • He's outside because we're in shelter-in-place here

  • in California.

  • So nobody-- Hey, Andy, where are you?

  • Andy?

  • I'm here.

  • I'm here.

  • I'm here.

  • There you are.

  • I'm here.

  • All right.

  • I don't see you from outside because it's tinted.

  • Yes, I know.

  • It's supposed to be tinted.

  • Nobody's supposed to look in.

  • Don't even try.

  • All right, were you just laying down out there?

  • Yeah.

  • I didn't know if we were coming to me or not.

  • But here I am.

  • Hi, guys.

  • Yeah.

  • Yeah, I decided to come to you.

  • So listen, this is a good time for you

  • to be there because the coyotes don't usually

  • come out this early.

  • They're too scared of the baby rattlesnakes.

  • So you should be OK out there.

  • Yeah, there's no snakes.

  • You said, Portia said no snakes.

  • Well that's what she said.

  • But listen if you're thirsty or anything there's

  • a garden hose real close by.

  • OK?

  • Thank you, Ellen, for taking such good care of me.

  • I love you.

  • I love you.

  • All right, before we figured out how to do the show again,

  • I was posting videos of me doing boring things at home,

  • like a jigsaw puzzle, putting together LEGOs.

  • I also wrote a novel about a house plant

  • that falls in love with a garbage disposal.

  • I'll be reading that later in the week.

  • Everyone is doing really creative stuff on social media.

  • My brother Vance, who is very, very funny,

  • he's doing something on Instagram called

  • 60-second guitar lessons.

  • He says that he's going to teach you how

  • to play guitar in 60 seconds.

  • He's very funny.

  • Here's one from last week.

  • Oh, hi.

  • I'm Vance DeGeneres and welcome to my free 60-second

  • quick and easy guitar lesson.

  • We're going to put 60 seconds on the clock, and there we go.

  • By the end of that 60 seconds, you

  • will know how to play an A chord.

  • If you've been watching, I know we've had

  • issues the last several videos.

  • We've been trying to teach that A chord,

  • but something has come up each time, so I apologize for that.

  • That's not going to happen today.

  • Grab your guitar because you're gonna learn that A chord.

  • First, we have a video question from a Steve

  • in Los Angeles, California.

  • What's your question?

  • Hi, I'm Steve in Los Angeles, California.

  • Is it really necessary to have a guitar for these lessons?

  • Um, yeah.

  • Yeah, you need a guitar, Steve.

  • You can't learn a chord without the guitar.

  • You can't just do a chord--

  • [TIMER GOING OFF]

  • And there goes our time.

  • So because of your stupid question,

  • our viewers don't get to learn that A chord.

  • So thanks a lot for that.

  • Well, that's our time, so thanks for watching.

  • We'll see you next time.

  • Aw.

  • That sounded funny.

  • It was funny.

  • You didn't see it, Andy?

  • I said it sounded funny.

  • I can't see anything--

  • That's true.

  • --out here, but it sounded funny.

  • Yeah.

  • Make sure you follow my brother, Vance, on Instagram.

  • If you have nothing to do for 60 seconds every day,

  • it's @vancenotvance.
