Ah, home movie.

Have I get it?

Well, back in 1990 I was doing a documentary series for PBS called Making Sense of the Sixties, and I placed ads around the country asking people, Do you have any home movies?

And people sent me hundreds of movies.

I love some of them, and I love this one.

It's just a beautiful time.

1958 Money is flowing in the middle class.

Pasadena's gorgeous people feel great.

Everybody's happy.

That's how it looks on this video.

I've added music to give a little feeling to it because the old eight millimeter is silent.

Remember that these are not baby boomers.

These are people from the silent generation.

My generation 18 year old people in 1958 the baby boomers were growing up at that time.

They were like, well, starting in 1946 so that would be 12 years old.

You'll see a few, but not many.

So sit back and watch this beautiful thing, and then tell me at the end by your comments, Could we ever have a time like this again in America, where it just seemed like everything was getting better and better and better.

Sure, we had some scary things going on at the same time, and some of my clips show those things.

But this one, I don't know.

It's just some kind of fantasy, but it's kind of like reality to it is a documentary.
