And today I'm really excited to introduce to you probably the number one winter comfort food in Japan.

This is a food that really only pops up in the winter.

So when you start to see it in the shops, it makes you feel all cozy.

It's called Odin, and it's not the most appealing dish.

So when you see it in the coal meanie, you might, uh, give it a pass because you don't like the look of it.

But I'm here today to show you that it's really great and you guys should try it.

So women actually told me about this restaurant right here.

What's so great about that?

Well, what she doesn't know is this is not Odin.

We're going to see we're going to eat craft.

This is our absolute Odin, multiplied by ambrosia given to Adam and trust me, this guy's really good.

The guy's amazing and he is the best friend I've ever had in my life, really.

And I agree.

Odin is a deeply unexciting dish.

However, this is really good.

Well, actually, I really love the stuff from the convenience store.

Very easy to please.

I love it.

And I think it's really great.

It's just the appearance that's not so appealing to foreigners, especially.

But I'm excited to try some fancy Odin today.

I've never done that before, so let's go inside.

And it's like.

So when you go to a restaurant in Japan, after you sit down, it's common that they will serve you.

A little dish like this usually get one.

This restaurant has to.

It's called, Oh, Toshi, they charge you for it.

It's kind of like your seat charge out a restaurant, and it's usually made up of food that I hate it here.

He's brought us to really lovely vegetable dishes, but a pumpkin and a Korean style number.

This restaurant and I love sushi restaurants you ordered by writing how many of each item you want on this little tally.

I can't do the English way.

Normal tallies stuff.

You have to do the authorities where they write the country.

So this is how you write in 12345 So if you want five or something like that if you just want one, that or two works in Japan way.

One that I'm really excited about.

That I want Kremlin to try is the dehydrated tofu blue.

And yeah, they take all the moisture out of it.

And then when they put it in the Odin brought it soaks up all the gushy on its very spongy like in a good way, it spongy.

Give the dashi thief sponge a six out of 10 but the daikon radish definitely gets a eight or nine that that's fantastic.

So the interesting thing about this restaurant, the owner will also make the Odin with vegan breath if you like, so it will be made out of carrots and cabbage.

She tucking mushrooms and seaweed base, a supposed thio regular fish broth, and Holden is usually made with the convenience store and usual restaurants.

So this dish was sitting in front of us the whole time, and I've been dying to try it.

It kind of looks like chicken nuggets, but apparently it's a tofu Paige tofu, and when he's a potato, it was like a really interesting combination of a bunch of vegetables and tofu.

Yeah, boiled it.

It's breaking is trying to pick it up.

It is like a hash brown really tasted potato.

My favorite one.

So I want to show you guys that they have dishes that aren't veggies as well.

What I have here is called Ciccio.

It's an Okinawan style pork, and it's incredibly soft.

I usually wouldn't like this much fat, but it just melts in your mouth.

Got the use of kosher on here.

It's been stewing in the olden dashi all day.

So big that really soft good.

It was just explaining how Okinawan style it is a mixture of three different cultures.

This year's pig's feet, which you normally would not see in Japanese cuisine.

But it's an Okinawan dish and much I mean, it's way too much.

I think things are mushrooms really drinking and e used them a lot way.

Just finished our meal.

This is the cutest thing ever.

They have.

It is handed us this and said to make sure you don't catch a cold a little throat candy and a stick a ball warmer the first time I've seen English on it.

It's a little patch that you stick to your clothes and it heats up.

How cute, but stars adorable.

I'm so glad to hear that Kremlin was just saying This must be the only place where you can eat and drink all night, and then you still feel healthy afterwards, Everything that we ate was really healthy.

It was just a bunch of boiled vegetables.

Now I want to show you guys where you can get Odin all throughout Japan.

You can get it just at the convenience store, but only in the winter.

So let's pop down to a local convenience store will show you what it's like that All right, we're gonna pop into this family mart here and I'll show you guys what Colombini Odin is like Good.

Yeah.

This came to a total of 735 yen and it makes quite a nice meal.

Not to mention it's decently healthy is actually a really great diet food.

It's warm and comforting, but there really isn't much to it calorie wise.

So I got pretty much one of everything, just so you guys can see what they have to offer.

These are fish cakes, and this is actually my favorite one.

It's called Cheetah Taki Noodles.

They're zero calorie noodles, but the texture is really nice, and they soak up the flavor of the Duchy, so they're pretty flavorful underneath.

Here we have a bag filled with Chief.

The bag itself is made from deep fried tofu.

There's a hard boiled egg, some radish, and underneath here we have a sausage, and that's the basic old end selection that you'll be able to find at your local committee.
