How big was football for you growing up?

My dad played football so that I got from a young age.

But football was very big as kids growing up.

So from 5 to 13 it's massive.

It's one of the biggest kids fought in the country.

Somebody goes into its 1 to 11 12 13.

That's when rugby takes over going into schools and you get pressured, Begin told.

This is what you should play and that's why we're so good at it because everybody is like, Well, you see the looks.

We want to be like them.

They just play it.

So it's one of the things that matter when it's young and people follow it through, it's better.

Do you play rugby and football?

Obviously I've read that you developed what early?

You're a big lad from a young age.

We playing football and rugby at a good level, played.

It played a bit of both right.

We're not really a good liver.

I just played through the school's on.

That was just because I got bullet got bullied for playing football, so four playing for time for work.

So it's a difference is like if you're in England, he played some of the sport.

You get bullied for not playing football donor, but back in your cell if you don't play rugby, I got bullied.

But time was 14 15.

And then, of course, my career took off from that.

When you were growing up, who was better, you or your sister in the back garden?

But she's always much technically better than yeah, she's very good that side of it.

I'm or the hustle and bustle know where the ball's gonna drop from the box and goals.

I've always had their knack, which is nice, but she was more a technical sentiment.

Feel defensive, midfielder type of player.

So, yeah, we're quite lucky.

How did that come about?

If nothing else, how did that come about?

And I just took my hand and said, Yes, you're young kid at the time you're moving from New Zealand's to England, which is miles away.

I mean, what was going through your mind?

Obviously the excitement of potentially making it pro.

But there must be a lot of challenges as well at that point.

Look, I think a kiwi coming from come from yours, Ellen were very laid back.

People, if you ever get out there totally relaxed way, do everything alone.

We're enjoying life way are actually two.

And to be fair, 16 17 18 I didn't understand what I gave up, why I was just moving, moving to play football.

And it's not like I'm just moving to a different club.

My mom moved over with me.

She's English, so it was basically still living at home because I still have my mother's cooking.

My mom, when I had a bad day, go home to shelter on screen that for your mom over to the cookie.

Oh, and she had the password.

Of course, that's the main thing.

It just makes it easy, because if you're going to takes, it's very tough because you have a bad day, You come on, you can't scream at you.

Think more like not screaming like you know, you just you just just emotionally, you have to try and be happy all the time in front of them and be respectful were some days you just wanna be like, Look, leave me alone.

I just suddenly couch and get stay out of the way with.

So I think I was very fortunate that my parents come over when I was young, and I think it helped me extremely much.

What was it like that day?

You talked about it just that in signing that professional contract, did you feel like, Yes, I finally made it look I had.

But when you're making your debut, when you're coming over here that that that first moment you must have felt that pressure the nose a little bit in those days before my debut is a very big blur.

What are you coming on from that moment?

Until about halfway through.

I was playing.

I can't remember a thing.

Really.

It's just just like because of the nose is Yeah, I think it's just, you know, just been a roll of Like, what's happening?

I'm 17 year old kid.

Playing out from New Zealand has never really happened.

Yeah, so yeah, it was a bit of a blur.

And then I started to enjoy it, Of course, was trying for the first time you everything with Daisy.

I started to improve end over end over end and was just fantastic.

He went to West Brom's.

You've signed pro.

You become a professional football dreams, years in the making.

You've succeeded that you then went on six loans from West problems all over the country.

Looking at where you went South Coast, north coast of Midland countries.

You said anything we achieve that you think everywhere.

How did you find that stuff?

Of course.

Going to different every single so often it's tough.

Me, new people blending with new people on things.

But ultimately it was what I had today.

And obviously, was there any one specific loan that you remember thinking This is a real changing point.

I'm learning a lot here and scoring a lot of girls.

There's two, probably Birmingham.

When I went to Birmingham Online, Yeah, when you're playing Europa League actually was funny here.

It was extremely different experience.

Yeah, quite weird, because, of course, we're in the championship, anything like that plan instead of the Tuesday and then became seven Tuesday Thursday, Sunday phrase Wednesday.

Again, it was ridiculous, but it was good because it was a different experience.

That was fantastic, really enjoyed my time.

Then we done quite well.

And then, of course, mobile, I think, is where my career took off May.

Actually I scored 11 and 19 games and that's when I got my move to Lester and just progressed from here, which is fantastic.

Do you think had a big influence on your career in terms of management, it's hard to put them down to let one of them because I think they'll give you something different.

When I was a West Bromwich these little things they teach you over the over days and over the weeks where you pick up on them and you remember that point?

And I think everyone gives you a different outcome.

How'd you look back on your time?

I think for any player I did, I did think leaves.

We'll get promoted.

And in its couple of seasons, I really believe that.

But I couldn't turn down the chance of playing Premiership football.

If leads were in the primitive, I wouldn't ever have left.

So, yeah, I really enjoyed my time there.

And it's nice to see them doing so well.

And hopefully they're here.

Um, expecting was just just enjoyment of freedom toe, hopefully going still goals and expressed what he said He'd been following my career for over the years.
