  • This is the lock picking lawyer, and rarely does a day go by that I don't get comments or e mails asking me about this tool.

  • You've seen the open dozens of bike locks with it, and everyone wants to know where they can buy one.

  • Now, if you watch the series of videos in which Bosnian Bill and I built the very 1st 1 and I'll link those videos below, you know that we allowed Sparrows, the lock pick company, to use the design without any royalty or fee.

  • We did that because we want to get these into your hands as cheap as possible, and we are now one step closer to that goal.

  • This is the Sparrows prototype of our design.

  • Now the good news is it definitely will happen.

  • Bill and I have been testing prototypes for the last couple of months.

  • Sparrows has now received and incorporated our comments and is currently sourcing materials and establishing the manufacturing process.

  • Unfortunately, until the materials are sourced and all the production issues air worked out, I can't give you an exact release date or price.

  • But if everything works out the way it's looking, I think you will all be very pleased.

  • So let's take a closer look at the Sparrows prototype.

  • I'll tell you the little ways in which it differs from the handmade one.

  • The changes will see in final production.

  • And then, of course, I will pick a couple locks for you now.

  • The only significant change we see in these sparrows is that we have four flats on the tension.

  • He knows instead of the two on the original handmade version, those four flats allow you to reorient the tension he knows at 90 degree angles, depending on the lock and what feels comfortable for you.

  • The flats are also far larger, making it easy to pick in tight places by removing one of the handles without fear of the tensioning knows rotating.

  • Now, Bill and I did pass on a couple of other very significant comments.

  • The first deals with the tip now Sparrows had originally braised them on, but then switched to welding after Bill broke one.

  • I believe sparrows will also include an extra tip when they sell the pick and also sell them separately, just in case they break or need to be modified.

  • But I'll say I have over 200 opens on this tip, and it is still going strong Next.

  • After the first, I'll say a couple dozen Opens.

  • I noticed that the tension he knows was rounding over on the edges, and that does not bode well for long term durability.

  • I talked to Sparrows about it, and they're going to make it out of something harder.

  • There's a bunch of little stuff, things like removing the champ for on the edge of the tension in those right at the tip.

  • We also need to add a second reference mark on this main knob at 180 degrees from the 1st 1 And then we also need to align that reference grid a little bit better with the pick body.

  • Those are the things that you only notice after you start picking, but will make a significant difference.

  • Okay, enough talk.

  • Let's show you this in action.

  • First Lock will look at Is this na ge bike lock.

  • I believe it's their strongman model.

  • We rotate all the disks as far clockwise as they will go, and I'm going to stick this pick through that shutter.

  • Now, here's where this pick really shines because the tension he knows is extendable and allows you that extra reach.

  • You need to get the course that are buried very deeply in the lock body.

  • Like this.

  • Snog.

  • Okay, I'm tension off of disc one.

  • Now it's fine.

  • Disc, too.

  • Okay, little click there.

  • Little click on three, I think.

  • Click on four.

  • Click on five.

  • Six is binding very tightly.

  • Nice click there.

  • Quick on seven.

  • Go back to the beginning.

  • Look, I think that's it.

  • There we go.

  • Open that one up.

  • Let's go for this.

  • Kryptonite.

  • This is one of their new you series.

  • So it has the new core that tensions from a random middle desk.

  • Once again, we're gonna rotate all of those disks is far clockwise as they will go and then stick the pick in there.

  • Okay, attention.

  • Off of two.

  • Got a little click on I'm sorry.

  • Attention off of one.

  • Gotta click out of two.

  • Click on three.

  • Four.

  • Feels like it's in a gate.

  • That might be our zero Cut Click out of five.

  • Quick out of six.

  • Fair bit of motion.

  • That probably means we have everything set except for disc one.

  • We got this open.

  • OK, folks.

  • So you saw a few lakhs opened.

  • You now know everything that I don't know.

  • And as soon as I do gnome or you will a CZ Well, if you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, that's probably where you'll see it first.

  • In any case, that's all I have for you today.
