  • They will have the beat West Ham for themselves could drop into the relegation places.

  • So pensive Come your way on this transfer show over the next two hours.

  • Delighted!

  • Have Darragh MacAnthony Withers.

  • Francis Benali is gonna be watching Liverpool West Ham in a bid as well and of course, carving on garnish as they are every evening with us for the transfer show.

  • So much to get stuck into.

  • Let's crack on with the huge used this evening that Barcelona have made a bid for Albertson's Charlison carve A what?

  • Well, this is a story that came into our news desk.

  • In the past hour.

  • Everton have turned down an £85 million bid for the Brazilian striker Re Charlison.

  • We're being told this offer was made earlier this week.

  • Everton rejected the offer immediately because they're unwilling to sell one of their prized assets now.

  • Of course, Barcelona are looking for a striker because Luis Suarez is out injured.

  • At the moment, we're being told that Rich Charleston is a long standing target of the Barcelona sporting director Eric Abidal.

  • Avatar believes Rich Allyson would complement Luis Suarez a style of play when he comes back when he is fit again.

  • Of course, if they were to sell him for £85 million they would be doubling their money because they signed him from Watford for about £40 million.18 months ago and he scored 24 times in 60 appearances for Everton.

  • But what our news desk is being told in the past hour is the Everton have turned down an £85 million bid.

  • Foreign Charlison Dara Give us the owner's perspective on this, Aziz Carver says.

  • It would be nearly doubling their money if they'd accepted it, but it's just two days to go till the window shots.

  • As an owner, what would your reaction be, Player?

  • He's gonna want to go to Barcelona.

  • They suspect everything.

  • Biggest clubs about south around Boston.

  • I think the biggest issue is not much time left.

  • So unless they've known about a prior, I'm gonna drop because apparently having Mike issues with you, So I'm hearing you.

  • But people at home are not enjoying what you got to say.

  • So we'll sort that out.

  • We'll come back to you.

  • Let's hear Francis is working.

  • Hopefully will give us an idea of how a Charleston will be feeling tonight because our understanding is that absent of flatly rejected this.

  • I guess the play will know by now that Barcelona in for him.

  • How will he be feeling?

  • It's a difficult one, and I mean, it's a huge sum of money.

  • I mean that that's his decision for the football club.

  • First and foremost There's many factors to, I think, you know, if it's with January.

  • Window is predominately inflated market if you like.

  • But when Barcelona do come calling, there's very few occasions where the player doesn't ultimately move it.

  • Be interesting if if it doesn't happen, there's obviously a couple days left.

  • Now how would you charge to themselves?

  • Don't know him personally.

  • How would he be between men until the end of the season?

  • If there was a potentially moving this summer?

  • But I think the bigger statement as well, from from Everton.

  • You know, you got a new stadium that they're gonna be building.

  • You manage it coming in, wanting to build a team, really?

  • Rather December 1.

  • Andi.

  • He is obviously one of the jewels in the crown, for sure, And I think if he did go, it's just raising the bar again.

  • I think as well.

  • From a transfer of perspective, we notice an inflated market.

  • But, you know, talking about seeming soft money for a Virgil Van Dyke.

  • Is he worth it?

  • In my opinion, probably know, in a way.

  • But he's still such a young age, 22 years old.

  • I mean, he's still improving this scope to still inflate his price in the future.

  • But it's one that I just never saw it coming.

  • I mean, I think it's shocked all of us probably shocked Everton as a club.

  • Getting an approach from Barcelona on gets a big decision to make.

  • Now let's try this again, Dora.

  • As an owner, give us your perspective two days to go to the window so you can hear me This time it was the first time.

  • So try again.

  • I said, I guess Look, the issue is it's Barcelona and when they want somebody, they're gonna get somebody.

  • The problem you've got is with two days to go.

  • It's reacting for that.

  • If you know in advance, you can have a Plan B.

  • If you don't know in advance, well, you've got you've got massive issues, particularly in evidence.

  • They're gonna look where they are on the table selling their prime asset.

  • They're not gonna do that deal unless they could bring someone in.

  • And as we've seen with strikers in the issue in this window with lots of clubs talking, I'm gonna strike.

  • Everyone wants one man united Need one.

  • I don't think there's a Plan B for them right now, so that deal, if it's gonna happen, would be the summer, in my opinion.

  • But let's pick up the point that Francis is making the player himself.

  • When you've had a player who made the clubs have come in for you said no, you're staying here.

  • How do you manage that?

  • I've had it This window on Dhe, you know, you manage it.

  • It's a difficult one.

  • But you got the player, his family.

  • You got the agents.

  • You think that your manager who wants to keep your best player, we're trying to win promotion.

  • It's a juggling act, even up to Yes, there I was in a meeting for four hours trying to appease an agent apiece.

  • Somebody's died a player because we don't have necessarily a Plan B.

  • Yes, we can go and get another striker.

  • Another player.

  • They're not gonna be the same as the one we've got who's bedded in with our team on an important part of Charleston's, a massive part for evidence losing him this late in the window be catastrophic.

  • In my opinion, it's probably a question for carving, actually, how boss Loner, affording £85 million to get what?

  • This is interesting because yesterday we were reporting they were trying to sign Bruno Fernandez as well and Barcelona is supposed to have issues with financial fair play.

  • So you do have to ask the question Where's all this money coming from?

  • I know they need a striker because Luis Suarez is injured.

  • They were trying to buy Rodrigo's from Valencia as well, but he would cost big money on.

  • We always hear the president of the Spanish league, Javier Tebas, complaining about how English clubs financially doped and how they're paying so much for players in the transfer market.

  • But you have to ask the question Where Barcelona getting the money from this month as well drop in the ocean for Barcelona titty of those payments.

  • Europe.

  • Most deals are done over four or five years.

  • Severe buying a player for 100 million is 25 million in this year's budget.

  • 25 next year for club like Barcelona, that's nothing.

  • That's like you're gonna spend £500 on a good night out.

  • So financial, fair place.

  • Nothing depends on his way.

  • But I guess reality is a Barcelona.

  • Want your player?

  • They're gonna find the money, they're going to do the deal.

  • Finance a fair player.

  • What if you're being really cynical?

  • Sure, he wants a new contract.

  • That's what was going to ask all day long.

  • How often does that happen?

  • He saw in December the Of course.

  • He probably wants a bigger one all the time.

  • But you see it happening all the time on Dhe.

  • You know, it's like the Mendez thing.

  • Mendez is wrong.

  • Barcelona couple of days ago and he said, Look, you owe me a favor and I'm saying to you now if someone asked you about this deal with Portuguese boy, don't deny or confirm bars ago yet no problem.

  • Give you the nod.

  • Wink, wink.

  • An incident United are under pressure on all the story leaks.

  • You know how this works.

  • You've experienced that before all the time.

  • You see through that, when you do and you don't is distill the panic of loose.

  • And I said to you before, it's like selling a car, an asset that everyone wants that everyone carpets.

  • And if you're the buying clothing you hear someone comes in at the last minute, you've made your bid.

  • You worked really hard for a month to try and sign a player.

  • And at the last moment it's the devastation for your fans that you looking embarrassing.

  • So you're thinking I've got to get this deal done.

  • The story could be, you know, Wash.

  • But at the end of the day, let's just get it done.

  • So Mendez has worked very cleverly.

  • First, as he always has.

  • The guy's a genius, one of the better agents out there on book United.

  • I've got a really good player, you know as well.

  • I mean, I gather from what I know playerscontracts quite often.

  • There's a lot of them that come up for renewal in January all the time.

  • So you know it's the players in the agents are going in there having these discussions this time of year, almost with a view to think.

  • Well, if I'm not going to get a new contract at the end of the season, they're having that conversation now with a view to possibly pushing that move through in the January window off course on book.

  • What will probably happen?

  • I set it over there behind the scenes in a couple of days with Charles assigned another new five year deal and then in the summer, Barcelona or buying That's football.

  • That's just the way it is.

  • That's the industry we know.

  • This is owners we noticed people involved with in the game.

  • Nothing you see on the transfer deadline show or anything else is news.

  • They're surprised.

  • Enables.

  • Well, I should point out.

  • Diary mentioned his experiences that Peter, but I know Peter found have been on Twitter today, saying updated on X y zed, which we will do a bit later.

  • If you're Peter profound, stay with us for that.

  • Let's move on now from Charleston to Manchester Night because big news and support you mentioned Arab Bruno for an ambush.

  • This has been rubbing on damage.

  • Where are we?

  • May be just a look.

  • Yours a soap opera?

  • The saga.

  • Whatever you wanna call it is almost at an end.

  • Now for 15.

  • This afternoon, Manchester United announced that they've agreed a deal to sign Bruno Fernandez from Sporting Lisbon, subject to a medical on personal terms.

  • Now, yesterday we broke down how that deal would work.

  • Manchester United would pay around £46.5 million up front, and the bonus payments could add up to a further £21 million.

  • So in total, this deal could be worth if he fulfills all of those conditions.

  • 67 a half £1,000,000 now.

  • Today Fernandez has Bean in Lisbon, officially terminating his contract with Sporting.

  • It's also thought he's recorded a farewell video which I think we've just got into the building now, which hopefully will be able to show you a bit later on as well.

  • He then weighed his way to Tears Airport to board a private jet to Manchester, and I think we can see those pictures now.

  • That's him at Paris Airport, so he's on his way there to Manchester right now.

  • Way understand?

  • To take that medical.

  • And if United can get a ll the paperwork on the registration done by midday on Friday, then Bruno Fernandez will be free to make his debut against Wolves on Saturday at 5 30 at Old Trafford.

  • A match you can see life on Sky Sports will discuss with Francis how important he could be to Manchester night very shortly.

  • But, you know, we mentioned George Mendez a moment a moment ago.

  • Let's talk generally about the role of agents in the game.

  • They're always under the spotlight.

  • If I was really one this morning, Yeah, that was fun.

  • Yeah, I met him in star books to keep it civil.

  • That was for his own safety.

  • So yeah, it was good.

  • Went well?

  • Yeah, generally.

  • I mean, they're a necessary evil of some say, yeah, they are on.

  • But they're here to stay as much as you'd like to get rid of them on does some great ones.

  • There's some good ones not working a few.

  • And then this other is that, you know, you'd want to feed to your dog.

  • Excuse me?

  • Saying that on That's just the industry we're in.

  • It is good, there's bad.

  • And it's down to the players to pick the right ones.

  • The bad ones that you got to deal with Wow, about some barnstorm in rows and screaming fits.

  • And I'd want out my window my office of Peterborough once and about some great battles with him over the years, you know?

  • And I like to think I win want most of the time, but that's just a necessary little game on Friday, I'll tell you that having a good representative for you as a player is very important.

  • It's difficult to represent yourself, have a family member, represent you don't get emotional, so you need to be a professional and you need to have a professional deal for you on good ones out there.

  • Do a great job for their for their players.

  • Mendez is a brilliant one.

  • I mean, footballers need agents, don't they?

  • That Doris says that they play football, they don't negotiate.

  • That's not that.

  • It's moved on massively.

  • I mean my time.

  • I had one agent do one deal on the rest of the time.

  • It was pretty much going in with the chairman or the manager at the time and just is there a new contract?

  • Is there an offer?

  • I never really wanted to leave the club, so I think that reflected in the contract.

  • But they're part of the football now.

  • It's part in parcel of it and what it does do for players enables them to just literally train play, concentrate on their game and they got representation that we'll deal with that side of things.

  • Absolutely.

  • What about Fernandez himself?

  • I'm not a Manchester, not have found out everything I see and hear about love.

  • He's been exciting addition to the family against me.

  • But is it enough?

  • Gonna make a difference for United hit the top four?

  • Well, 39 goals and a three appearances for sport in it will bring that attack in mindset.

  • That ability to united United Needle Need a lift?

  • At the moment, There's a lot of negativity around United.

  • The goal is the assist will be a big thing.

  • Marcus Rashford being injured at the moment, I'm sure played a big part in the decision of this signing.

  • Yeah, I mean, he's right.

  • Ages.

  • Well, Portuguese.

  • 19 gates for Portugal.

  • So is a player that could increase in value.

  • It's a It's a big chunk of money, but we've seen it before.

  • Huge sums of money.

  • You're gonna be bought here, but you not to need that lift and he could be deployed to bring it.

  • I think M He's a terrific player.

  • He's a good addition to the Premier League.

  • Is a great age.

  • I think in modern times now the price is he's a bargain for United and I think you'll see the best of them next season.

  • Not necessarily this season is those foreign players.

  • Do you take time to bed in?

  • And I think next season him feeding the Russians and the marshals of the world.

  • I think they've got an incredibly A bit like when we got continue years ago, Liverpool, that kind of player, that equipment being now obviously continue.

  • It was a bit younger and whatever else but a difference maker, and I think it be a big difference maker.

  • And if they could get him down on one other, not about window on progress in building steps within their give the dress, remember most is worth it freshens the dressing room up a little bit, player walking in the door as opposed to like a rich Arliss and possibly walking out correct.

  • You know, it just gives everyone a real lift around them.

  • Run the club Well, Dad said.

  • If they get him and one other car they are united in for other place, I think ideally they'd still like to sign another striker as well.

  • Of course, all the gun assault CR said they were going to try and do that because Marcus Rashford is injured.

  • They didn't really replace Romelu Lukaku in the summer and also Alexis Sanchez went on loan to Inter Milan.

  • It's been a busy day today at Manchester United.

  • They're very close to signing a young goalkeeper from South End United Nathan Bishop.

  • Marcus Rojo looks like he's off to s duty.

  • And Tez, of course they signed him.

  • I think Louis Van, how signed him for, like, £60 million from Sporting That move hasn't really worked out.

  • He's on big big wages at United Fender.

  • Bachelor were interested in taking him, but he wants to return to Argentina.

  • It looks like he's leaving United this week and also talk.

  • Continue about United trying to sign Jude Bellingham from Birmingham City.

  • You know this guy is one of the hottest young prospects in English football.

  • He's only 16 years old, lots of other clubs trying to sign him as well.

  • I think United trying to do a deal for about £25 million where he would stay on loan at Birmingham 4 18 months and then come to Old Trafford so he would be one for the future.

  • But when it comes to strikers short term, who is available?

  • Edison Cavani.

  • But he'd rather go to Athletico Madrid, although it doesn't look like that is happening at the moment.

  • Then there is Christoph Pee on Tech A C.

  • Milan looks like he's going to hurt a Berlin.

  • Then there's Djourou.

  • He's available on the market into Melon, not paying what Chelsea want and then their names like Slimani and Egg Arlo.

  • I find it difficult to see them going toe Old Trafford so time running out if they want to sign a striker and there's only one or two names really left on the market at the moment he had a couple of names.

  • You've mentioned being like Thomas.

  • Well, we'll discuss Spurs in a few minutes with the guys.

  • Die, right in the middle of all these Manchester United moves is Ed Woodward.

  • We saw some disgraceful scenes last night, didn't we?

  • On social media with his house being attacked?

  • What he thought disgusting.

  • Look, we're all passionate about our clubs.

  • I'm a Liverpool fan on Peter Breath.

  • I understand when people lose the rock, I lose my rack and we don't went off.

  • We lost Wimbledon last week.

  • I was crying all the way home.

  • My driver is looking at me with shame in his eyes, and that's football.

  • That's the way it is.

  • We're passionate about it.

  • But that reaction that way to deal with.

  • Look, Ed Woodward needs to go on higher director of football, what he does for man United.

  • Commercially brilliant.

  • One of the best in the game.

  • Just go get a director of football and it takes all this pressure off.

  • You go out and tell everyone is going to take us four windows to get it right.

  • We're going young.

  • We're gonna bring the young players through.

  • We're gonna buy the best of youth for youth of Allah.

  • Bellingham.

  • We're gonna get a director of football in, and you're gonna get your clothing two years back to where you want it back.

  • Just tell her room.

  • It's interesting because you're the first person to say that he did.

  • Director football.

  • That's two or three years, all day long, President.

  • Into it, it seems I don't know whether resistant to it, because they can definitely afford one.

  • I don't know who's making that decision, but it's an easy call now.

  • And I'm not trying to talk about what happened to the manor at his house last night.

  • That's horrible.

  • That shouldn't happen.

  • But that's what he needs to do.

  • Focus on what you're good at and get people in to do the things.

  • Maybe you're not so good at it.

  • And that's how you run a business.

  • But who might tell Odo Ed Woodward had to run the football club?

  • But that's a simple fix.

  • Be transparent.

  • Go get a director of football and it will buy you time to get back to where you need to bait United.

  • They're gonna need to three years to get this right.

  • They're gonna need 45 windows, some of the signs that made our like and they're in the right.

  • And I'm a Liverpool fan saying that So you know, McGuire, you haven't seen the best of him yet.

  • You know, obviously this boy that's coming in there from and it's gonna be a great acquisition, so they will get it right.

  • But just go buy yourself time and be transparent with fans.

  • Darren, just very quickly.

  • How bad is the abuse got for you?

  • I've been really, really looking 14 years.

  • I think there was one game I had an issue early on on when we're in the championship, we just had back to back promotions was our first season in the championship.

  • Were Fornell down to Cardiff halftime and a guy comes screaming over the defense that we're gonna go back to where you came from because I'm Irish or whatever else, so already flattened them.

  • So the stewards are looking to get a hold of me was he might have been going on the body bag out of the ground, but we then in the second half got back to 44 So it's a great car, but that's the only time I've ever had abuse.

  • Now I get trolled online on Twitter by opposition finds that planted.

  • That's okay.

  • You go on social media, you put yourself out there, you gotta be big enough to deal with it, you know?

  • But I've never to that to that level of 51 of my employees of CEO or director football was getting abused like that.

  • That would be a massive thing for me.

  • I'll be like, listen and offer this already.

  • This is like getting silly.

  • Now this isn't life or death, you know, this is football.

  • We're talking about what I get for some finds it is.

  • But to do that with a man and his wife and Children in the house.

  • You just overstepping boundaries here.

  • If you're Ed Woodward now, you know you're getting stick from the fans.

  • They're everywhere, all right?

  • You're wrongly.

  • So when something like that happens, are you thinking I don't need come out and talk them?

  • Look, Edward, words, obviously a deal maker has closed more commercial deals, and most people in the primary command talk come and do an interview.

  • Commander finds form.

  • Okay, You're gonna need to be brave.

  • And I need to You're gonna get a lot of stick.

  • I've done finds forwards.

  • We've lost five games in a row.

  • My press guy goes, Do you still want to do this for him?

  • I'm absolutely.

  • Now's the time to do it because you're gonna be out there and you're gonna be front and center fronted up there without Edward Wouldn't say it.

  • Look, we're gonna get it right.

  • This is what we gotta do.

  • Give us time.

  • Absolutely no justification for what we saw the other night, gents.

  • Thanks for motion.

  • D For now.

  • After the break, we're gonna be focusing on top search for striking a couple names.

  • We've mentioned with United early Christoph Tech, Olivier Giroud on much more to or coming next, a reminder.

  • It's the second leg off the second F L Cup semifinal type.

  • Manchester United will certainly need Anthony Marshall to fire.

  • Tonight is overturned that 31 deficit against City.

  • He starts this evening, along with Mason Greenwood at the hottest Live on Sky Sports will keep you updated with goals here.

  • Little bit later, you might have noticed Francis been Arias has left us, and we've been joined by the former West Ham defender James Collins, who is going to be with us here in the studio tonight.

  • Good to see you, James.

  • Let's crack on with top men.

  • Shall we turn our attentions to spurs?

  • The had a pretty decent window so far.

  • Are there Mork?

  • New signing?

  • Still to come?

  • Let's turn to you.

  • Carve a er nearly a month now since hurricane got injured.

  • Where are they?

  • In the search for a new striker will occur.

  • They got in jets and Fernandez on loan.

  • They sign Steven Burg Fine today from P s fee for £27 million.

  • But you're right.

  • Josie Marino is desperate for a striker and the options are really running out at the moment.

  • Just in the past few minutes.

  • Christoph pee on Tech a striker.

  • They were interested in the A c Milan.

  • He is on his way to her to Berlin for £23 million.

  • That is almost done, so they missed out on him.

  • Thea.

  • Other options, I suppose Josie Marino like Edison Cavani, but we know that's gonna be difficult.

  • He's on £360,000 a week, a p S G, and he wants to go to Atletico Madrid.

  • There's still a bit of interest in winning Josiah at rail.

  • Soc a dad.

  • They could make a late move for him.

  • He wants to come to England.

  • The really interesting one is Olivier Giroud.

  • Now he is at Chelsea.

  • He's not really wanted it.

  • Chelsea, he's been told he can leave into Milan, have been trying to sign him, but they can't agree of feet with Chelsea.

  • The interesting thing now is Spurs will Spurs make a move for him.

  • We're being told they're interested in signing him and he is open to moving to Spurs.

  • It would be incredible, tohave a player who's played for Arsenal, Chelsea and then Spurs.

  • I think the big issue with this is historically Chelsea are very reluctant to do transfer business with Spurs are Remember last January, Spurs were trying to sign me.

  • She backed Shuai on loan from Chelsea.

  • Chelsea just would not do that deal and he went to Crystal Palace instead.

  • Off Spurs.

  • I find it really difficult to see Chelsea agreeing to sell him to Spurs, especially because they're both going for a Champions League place as well.

  • And he could score the goals that potentially could see Spurs qualifying for the Champions League instead off Chelsea.

  • Well, let's put it to you then.

  • The two factors there, their top four rivals that of his rivals.

  • As you know that you're never gonna happen if your fourth and you got the chasing pack and two of them want to sign one of your strikers.

  • And yet, Drew, Look, he's of no use to land part at the moment of the Chelsea team and they're looking for another striker.

  • I'm not really sure where those clubs Aaron from toe what?

  • And go on What?

  • You know what points you're gonna serve, so I'd see him going abroad.

  • I don't see those deals happening.

  • No chance Chelsea know where they're gonna sell to talk.

  • James, you come up against him would be a good signing for us both.

  • I think you'd be a great sign and obviously the position in the minute of how we came being out, he scored goals where he's gone and obviously I've played against him.

  • He's a real handful.

  • I think you do a good job for Spurs, but like you said, I can't see Chelsea sending to arrival that close.

  • If if they're going for the Champions League spot, if he is to score goals, it looks bad on Chelsea.

  • So could be a great deal for Tottenham.

  • But I can't see that happening on as we know.

  • They're trying to find a striker who conf it in now and deliver.

  • But then it's gonna be happy to go back on the bench as and when Harry Kane comes back, which is a dilemma, isn't it?

  • Yeah, that's the problem.

  • Talk I'm gonna have, you know, as soon as having Kane's back, any center forward, this sign having Kane's gonna play.

  • So you know to to attract the right sort of player in the January transfer window is going to be tough because like you say they're going to be second choice, assumes have his back.

  • But I think looking at the way they play and obviously the goals, how you came, brings, they need to sign a center forward who is, you know, we don't know.

  • Damage in terms of potential outgoing from Spurs Danny Rose has been linked with lots of clubs in the last few weeks.

  • What's the latest with two days to go yell at Watford and born with for two of six clubs?

  • We were told we're interested in Danny Rose, but we could have a front runner now on Dhe Newcastle United are pushing very hard to try and sign Danny Rose from Tottenham.

  • Hot spot.

  • There's still work to be done on this one, though, because Newcastle United they want to do a loan deal.

  • Tottenham, Hot Spur, want to do a sale or at the very least, have an obligation attached to any kind of loan.

  • That's because Danny Rose has got 18 months left on his contract and Tottenham can't be seen to let him run down his contract to 12 months.

  • You remember he did an interview a couple of months ago where he said, Don't worry about me in January.

  • You don't need to write anything.

  • I'm gonna be seeing out my 18 months of my contract.

  • If Daniel Levy had read that contract that interview, I'm sure he would have said now you know.

  • And now he's in a position where he's not getting first thing footballer at Tottenham and he's probably have to change his mind because euro 2020 is coming up.

  • If he's not playing first in football, which is unlikely to do it Tottenham, then he's gonna have to move.

  • So he's gonna have to do some sort of deal whereby he can get regular first team football to try and force his way into Gareth Southgate's England scored.

  • But it looks like Newcastle United, the ones pushing the hardest at the moment.

  • But look this two days, two days to go.

  • It's not gonna be easy to get a deal like that done in that time.

  • We talked about true probably on the way out of Chelsea.

  • What about Chelsea?

  • Any incomings card?

  • Because I think we're expecting a busy window, won't we, given the overturned the band and all that, but it hasn't panned out that way.

  • Do you expect that to change between now and Friday?

  • We're going to see a hive of activity.

  • I think Frank Lampard wants to sign someone and I think he's getting a bit frustrated in the past week also is the first time we've seen Frank Lampard in public, appear to be frustrated with what is happening at Chelsea.

  • I think he's gone in there.

  • He's done a great job.

  • He's got the fans on side.

  • He's got Chelsea playing exciting football.

  • He's using a lot of young players.

  • Yes, of course they've lost a few games, but ever since this fee for transfer Ban was lifted, he was expecting toe, have money to spend big money and it just hasn't worked out for whatever reason and I think he is becoming frustrated.

  • I think he may have to wait until the summer when they may sign players like Jade and Sancho, for instance.

  • But I think in the short term this window he was expecting a lot more.

  • He feels that haven't replaced Ed in Hazzard and the money they made from selling Ed in Hazzard hasn't Bean spent.

  • Yet he wants another striker toe help.

  • Tammy Abraham.

  • I think he wants another left back because I don't think he's totally convinced with Marcus, Alonzo or Emerson.

  • And I think he wants another center back as well, because they have replaced Gary Cahill, Lord Abbett Louise, even though they've got four very good centerbacks at the club.

  • So for the first time in the past few weeks, I just detect Frank Lampard being a bit frustrated with what is happening there as regards transfer business down to give us an idea of the sort of conversations that might be going on behind the scenes.

  • Look, I hate when managers do it publicly.

  • Shoni frustration or any irritation.

  • What's going on behind the scenes because that's not healthy, and that just gets the hairs on my back up.

  • You know, I had a manager not so long ago did.

  • Every time there's a microphone in front of his face was like, I need two more players.

  • We'd sign 16.

  • It got to the point where a week before the season start that I was ready to fire him.

  • It just said to my wife one night there he is again after another preseason friendly.

  • I need three more, and I'm just about enough of this.

  • Enough already.

  • I get land parts frustration, however, that was a gift of a job to get.

  • He got a hell of a job there.

  • Yes, he's done a good job.

  • Andi, just think you know what?

  • Let it play out.

  • If they don't bring it in, they've got some great players there that still make the top four, and they get what they need in the summer.

  • He's got a great club.

  • It's a dream opportunity.

  • Just don't rock the boat, and you certainly don't need to do it in public.

  • Every house.

  • I don't know if he has enough, but there's no need to do Is such an early stage it is correct to beat, to beat, To be fair to France.

  • I don't think he's come out explicitly and said, uh, I need more players.

  • Get me these players.

  • It's just from watching him in news conferences.

  • You just sense that he would like more to get them in the summer.

  • Probably China is not the best time to do business.

  • It's desperado time sometimes and it's like it's a difficult window for everyone involved when you're buying what you're selling.

  • So summertime chance.

  • You've always recruited really well.

  • They'll have a plan in place and they'll sign probably three or four terrific players in the summer.

  • James, Do you agree with Dar if they don't get anybody in before Friday?

  • Well, this young side be good enough for the top four?

  • I think so.

  • I think they've proved it on in the season.

  • You say Frank's committed in a tremendous job, not being able to spend any money in and sort of got on with what you had there on, Done tremendously.

  • Well, I'm not so sure they'll sign anyone in January.

  • You say If they don't, I'm sure they'll go big in the summer bond kick on again.

  • You know that's that's what Chelsea do and what they've done in previous years.

  • So I don't think you'd be too disappointed if he doesn't get places because you know you have.

  • You have a war chest in the Summit er to get what he wants.

  • Chelsea fans obviously keep an eye over the next couple of days with us that anything happens, we will let you know damage to a couple of bits of business.

  • Two days to go.

  • Then you got an update on another movie.

  • Yeah, well, a move that might not happen now.

  • Actually, it concerns the Crystal Palace.

  • Left back Patrick Van on.

  • Holt's got 18 months left on his contract at Selhurst Park.

  • You've been the subject of two, perhaps even three bids from PSB.

  • I ain't over.

  • The latest that we'd heard was a £7.6 million bids now that remained on the table as far as we were aware in the past couple of hours.

  • But P s vine over now, according to our colleagues at Skyline, Italy, have agreed a deal for a C.

  • Milan's Ricardo Rodriguez.

  • So as it stands, it looks like Patrick Van on Holt is staying Crystal Palace, which in the short term is good news for Crystal Palace.

  • But he's entering that dangerous time as far as football clubs are concerned.

  • I'm sure Darryl know all about this.

  • 18 months left on his contract.

  • If they don't renew his contract now or don't sell him now, he'll go into the final 12 months.

  • And as we know, six months later, he consigned a pre contract agreement with a foreign club and then go for free and also just a few updates.

  • I'm getting a couple of messages from on agent who's involved in a couple of deals this evening.

  • He's telling me that when it comes to Danny Rose going to Newcastle, the talks are continuing between a ll parties and hopeful that a deal can be reached which suits all parties.

  • He also goes on to say Ignore any stories you've seen about, Emmanuelle added.

  • By all going to Newcastle, there is no interest at all from Newcastle in the play.

  • I think he's a free agent at the moment.

  • Hey also, says Steven Nzonzi, who was at Roma.

  • He's being out on loan in Turkey.

  • He's being made available to a lot of clubs.

  • He's telling us that he was offered to Villa on loan but it doesn't look like that is happening and a separate update we're getting regarding Mackey.

  • Wells, the striker who was owned by Burnley but he was on loan that Q P R for the first half of this season, did really well, scored a lot of goals.

  • He's gone back to Burnley and this evening it looks like he's on his way to Bristol City, which is a blow for Q P R.

  • Because I know they want to assign him as well.

  • But I think Bristol City have offered more, and he's on his way there.

  • Car vase phone is lighting up again It's fascinating just watching any other news for carving.

  • And, of course, Dharam.

  • Excuse me texting you wanted, right?

  • Okay, lots more to come for you.

  • It's been a pretty decent week for Mikhail Arts after and ask how it suits with this round of the F A Cup on Dhe, they've signed a defender.

  • We'll be discussing old things off.

  • That's right, It's back.

  • It's the transfers.

  • Show re e wind.

  • He loves it.

  • He loves it.

  • Today we're asking who has been the best manager in the transfer market.

  • Carve a away you go.

  • Bob Paisley, the quiet genius.

  • In nine years at Liverpool, he won 20 trophies, including six titles and three European Cups, and his record in the transfer market was incredible.

  • For less than a £1,000,000 He signed Kenny Dalglish, Graham Souness and Alan Hansen.

  • Between them, those 31 42 major trophies.

  • Just look at his record, he sighs.

  • Steve Nicol, Phil knew Ronnie Real and Bruce Grobbelaar.

  • The list goes on and on to borrow the words of one of his rivals.

  • Bob Paisley wasn't the best manager in the transfer market, but he was in the top one.

  • That's great, but unfortunately, just over time, so that last line won't count in the vote.

  • Three words Sir Alex Ferguson.

  • Now everyone makes make stakes, including the great man himself.

  • But when Fergie got it right, my goodness, did he get it right?

  • Cristiano Ronaldo, Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, Peter Schmeichel, Denis Irwin.

  • Their combined transfer fee was less than £20 million on some of the other dames.

  • Ferdinand Vintage Vandals are Rooney, van Persie, Dahiya, Cole, York Stamp.

  • I could go on Karl, eh?

  • This is simply not a contest.

  • Vote Ferguson.

  • So that's what we think.

  • Now it's over to you.

  • Vote on Twitter at Sky Sports News.

  • Dara.

  • There's your first taste in studio the rewind.

  • What do you think?

  • It's tough because I'm a Liverpool fan on employ Sir Alex Ferguson, Some Tauron between two lovers.

  • I have to say Liverpool pacing.

  • You look at their names.

  • There It's incredible as a fine.

  • You forget some of them.

  • But, you know, you gotta look at the value as well.

  • Some of the people they brought in, they paid nothing for Yes, we could go.

  • Ferguson's record with Rooney and he's paid 30 million for really 14 million for Ronaldo.

  • X amount of 1,000,000 140.2 million for Canton.

  • Yeah, but that's when you're thrown out there, you know, Let's be honest.

  • There's a fiddle diddle there to get constant that shapes all over the TV, I said.

  • Everyone makes mistakes.

  • Djemba Djemba named investing.

  • We all have some bad mistakes in our lives.

  • So you know your name and a few there.

  • I'm sure Liverpool got summers.

  • Well, Paisley all day long has two legends of the game.

  • Absolutely, you'd think two legends of the game.

  • Who's the best operator you've ever seen in the transfer market?

  • Whether it's a manager you had or someone even mind, it's difficult.

  • Modern times, you know, you look around and this might seem weird or whatever else, but every time I've seen some Sam Allardyce go into a club in the January and he's on a you know, like a farm and running into a burning house, and he's on a rescue mission.

  • He does tend to do some good business.

  • You look at some of the players you brought the palace, for example.

  • You know their captain, for example.

  • You look at what he did it some good, and he's done some really, really good deals under some tight.

  • I'm, you know, constraints on the money you spent.

  • So you go back to the old days of Harry in his car window and when he signed seven players to save Portsmouth that season.

  • So there's all sorts of stories over the years.

  • Nowadays, with directors of football in the game, it's a bit different.

  • Maybe not so many obvious ones.

  • Now we're gonna turn our attention to Arsenal in just a moment.

  • Actually, arsenals women are playing this evening in the League Cup semi final stage as it is in the men's Manchester City.

  • Our way to Arsenal, and there's been a goal.

  • Just Crichton can tell us.

  • Yes, yes, actually, I didn't take this Arsenal women's team long to get into their stride there already got a goal up.

  • It took them just six minutes.

  • It was capitalized on the defensive error by the Manchester City players.

  • General Bonner didn't clear her lines.

  • It was intercepted by an Arsenal play.

  • Freddy Frito, who asked what Viv meet Amar on the left hand side some quick feet from her, allowed it to gain an inch on Steph Wharton.

  • She's driven it low past the keeper, past the far post into the net on Arsenal.

  • Have the lead also, of course, going for their third straight Conti Cup final here on, They've got one step in that final there.

  • One nil up.

  • Okay, Jess, thanks very much indeed.

  • Let's turn to Arsenal, shall we?

  • They have bean busy Darwish yet?

  • Look, a window.

  • We've been saying two things.

  • Asked her in the market for defensive cover on.

  • Also that they wouldn't be bringing in arrivals that required significant investment.

  • Both now seem to be coming to fruition.

  • They've made one signing today on the verge of another.

  • It's been confirmed what's in the past?

  • A few hours there, close to signing the Southampton fullback Cedric Suarez.

  • It's an interesting deal, this one said.

  • Rick's contract runs out in the summer.

  • Arson will take him on loan on that, the end of that loan.

  • He'll become a free agent, and you'll think if he does well at the Emirates, Arsenal will be in pole position to sign him for no money at all.

  • Southampton will receive a loan fee.

  • And, of course, they've made that signing off Kyle Walker Peters from Tottenham as well.

  • So they're covered in the area.

  • One signing that is done for Arsenal is the Flamingo defender Pablo Marie.

  • He's joined on load until the end of the season that comes with an option to buy.

  • That deal could be worth in the region if everything comes goes well around £12 million now.

  • The move was in the balance around 24 hours ago, but a change in the structure of payment got it back on track.

  • So Pablo Marie in Cedric Suarez imminent.

  • Okay, we're gonna crack on.

  • What's to you?

  • A packet.

  • In the next 15 minutes or so off the transfer show, we're gonna be talking as well about the matches that are underway.

  • Now they're underway in the Etihad in the Earful Cup semi final, second leg.

  • I consider that Edward Woods.

  • So what happens in his house last night is there in attendance at the game tonight, and we'll keep you updated on that one.

  • Next.

  • Lots of people taking place tonight.

  • Thomas Ooh, check has just been introduced to the fans at West Ham, their new signing from Slavia Prague.

  • It's being confirmed on an initial loan deal until the end of the season, with the option to make it permanent in the summer.

  • He's there watching West Ham take on the runaway league leaders Liverpool on there also tonight.

  • It's, of course, the second leg of the League Cup semi final, the Manchester Derby.

  • The Etihad.

  • We'll have news from those two games on the rest of tonight's matches.

  • Kickoff is underway.

  • Star MacAnthony is still with us.

  • The Peterborough on.

  • We're gonna focus in your club now, Derek.

  • So, well, after a tricky Christmas, get in there.

  • Three wins in a row, up to fourth in the table, just outside automatic promotion.

  • However, a couple of your players have necessarily attracted attention elsewhere.

  • Marcus Madison, Your fans have been asking all day what is happening.

  • Is he going to stay?

  • Well, here's where we are with Marcus.

  • We've got him for four years.

  • Five years.

  • We offered him a new contract.

  • He turned it down.

  • He made it very clear to me You want the championship football.

  • He's got a great start to the season.

  • I went out early January, did a deal with Charlton chairman two weeks ago.

  • We agreed terms.

  • We've left him with Charlton to speak for two weeks.

  • They have been able to close the deal so it comes down to terms we had.

  • Then Birmingham come in and make two bits.

  • The bids were pretty much the same as Charlton.

  • We just needed to structure the payments.

  • Birmingham didn't want a structured payments.

  • We couldn't wait for the summer and next year we needed some.

  • Now, some of the summer.

  • We were okay, waiting for some.

  • So that deal fell apart two days ago.

  • Another clubs come in.

  • That's midway in the championship doing well.

  • They're about to sell t
