Like most modern car locks, this is a wafer lock, but a bit higher security than some others, because the wafers have ridges or serrations in them.

So let's see what it takes to pick this open.

I have a tension tool here that's designed specifically for auto locks, and what it does is both turn the core and hold open this weather shutter.

Okay, and then I'm going to be using a standard hook in 25 thousands.

Okay, click out of the first wafer quick out of the second click out of the third, and that's all I feel on the bottom.

Let's go to the top wafers.

Quick, out of the first way, For if you look carefully, you can see a little bit of counter rotation that's from the ridges on those wafers.

Click on the second wafer click on the third.

Nothing behind it.

See if I dropped any of them quick out of the first, and we opened it up so not a terribly hard pick for someone with experience.

But let's keep this in perspective.

It's good to remember the car door has a window, and the chances of that door being opened with a rock are probably far higher than a pick.
