字幕列表 影片播放 列印英文字幕 Hey, geograpeeps. Welcome back to Flag / Fan Friday. Hope you like the Guyana episode. Guyana is so cool because it's like a little mini, India in South America, and the flag is pretty cool too, and you'll see why in a sec. So without further ado, Okay, so before we jump in. I just want to say a very quick thank you to all of the Irish, French, Italian and Swiss Geograpeeps that have contacted me for the heritage trip that me and my mom are going to take at the end of this year. I can't wait to meet some of you guys and I'll be hitting you back at the beginning of June after I finished the Haiti episode okay, cool? All right, enough talk. Let's jump in. The flag of Guyana otherwise known as the 'Golden arrow' is a green banner with two triangles protruding to the right from the left hoist side. The Longer Gold One with a white outline reaches all the way to the edge of the right side and the smaller one with a black outline Inside only juts out to about a third of the way The colors are symbolic. The green represents agriculture and forests, the white for the rivers and water the gold for mineral wealth and black for Endurance. Whereas the red stands for... Yeah, sorry I know you're waiting for the bloodshed but Guyana's independence actually wasn't that bloody. You'll just have to wait for the next one. Also keep in mind prior to independence, they used a variety of Union Jack Corner box flags with a Emblem with A 19th century sea vessel and now for the coat-of-arms. The coat-of-Arms includes a crest made of an Amerindian headdress known as Cacique's crown, symbolizing the indigenous people, two diamonds at the sides of the headdress representing the mining industry, a helmet and two Jaguars as supporters holding a pickaxe, sugarcane and a stock of rice symbolizing Guyana's mining sugar and rice industries. There's also a shield decorated with the Victoria Amazonica Lily, Guyana's national flower, Three Blue Wavy lines representing the three main Rivers of Guyana and the National bird, the canje pheasant. At the bottom on a scroll lies the National Motto: "One people, One nation, One Destiny". Now any coat of arms with Jaguars on it is all right in my book. Alright. So that's about it. You know what time it is? Geogra-Fanmail Time! Alright, so this is all the stuff that I got from last week Let's just jump in. This is from hugo from the Netherlands, whoa ( ) wait what hey Barb's?
