字幕列表 影片播放 列印英文字幕 This is the lock picking lawyer, and every once in a while I see a lock that reminds me in striking fashion why I make these videos. The lock you see on the left is the master lock bottle 77 a lot first introduced in the early 19 thirties, though this particular one was probably made in the 19 fifties or sixties. But what I really want to point out is the core. It's a normal pin tumbler design with just four standard pins. And, of course, it is trivially easy to pick open. Let me show you that right now we're going to use bottom of the key way tension with a wiper insert in a standard hooking 25 thousands. Nothing on 123 okay for is binding. Click there, click out of three, click out of two and click out of one. We open that up. Now let's compare it to the recently redesigned Master Lock number three. This redesign hit the shelves over 75 years after the Model 77 like the Model 77 it has four easily pick standard pins. Let's open this one up as well. Once again, Bottom of the key way. Tension with the same wiper insert and a standard hooking 25 thousands. Okay, click out of one click out of two. Nothing on three click out of four. That should just leave three. And indeed, that opened it up. So more than 75 years and no appreciable improvement in pick resistance. This exemplifies why it's so important that we don't just wait for the lock industry to improve and innovate on its own. There have been decades of stagnation, and it will only improve when consumers are better educated and they demand more. In any case, that's all I have for you today. If you do have any questions or comments about this, please put them below you like this video and would like to see more like it. Please subscribe and, as always, have a nice day.
