  • you know, some guys.

  • So it's pretty late right now, But there's this guy that wrote to me.

  • He said that he worked as a quant that said that I'll jump trading.

  • So now I'm checking out his profile and spoken, sipping gin and juice weather here, bitch talk.

  • And she's such a shit medicated.

  • But your group Oh, wow.

  • He goes to Harvard, too.

  • Come again?

  • Just do it.

  • Look at this show.

  • Dude, I'm not gonna do like a typical intro.

  • Okay?

  • If you don't want this to be more of a casual conversation Yeah, yeah.

  • Thanks for using the microphone that we're microphone stand.

  • Yeah.

  • Yeah.

  • So can we talk a little bit about yourself?

  • Because, like, interesting it.

  • So this is Cato, kid.

  • Take a little cato.

  • A k a sad Kato Kato.

  • Gambino.

  • Just get it.

  • Trying to plug your channel right away, just like trying.

  • All right, way.

  • Okay.

  • So the reason why I brought you here is because you have a very impressive resume.

  • You know, from what I understand, you worked at CID.

  • El Instagram jumps trading these These are all like, cos I got rejected from except prison decided.

  • Oh, you I'm very impressed.

  • You can tell me, like, why did you want to come here?

  • Yeah, I didn't put my champ.

  • But I also don't want to provide the content for, like people because I saw your brother's interview.

  • But quant and this is, like provide for their content about the quant and also show a side of people in the quantum vortex spaces that are non traditional, like me.

  • I want to show I want to present that there are these people who exists.

  • So what do you mean?

  • Like you?

  • I can't I can't tell what's so special about you.

  • Yeah.

  • Uh, let's stop.

  • Where did you go to college and what did your study?

  • Yeah, So I didn't.

  • I undergrad in heartburn.

  • And then So I studied my bachelors and computer science and my masters and statistics.

  • All you have a master's, too.

  • Yeah.

  • What are you done?

  • School?

  • I'm doing school.

  • Not not going back anytime.

  • Yeah.

  • Okay.

  • So are you.

  • Are you working full time on YouTube now?

  • Yeah, or you're working full time.

  • I thought you were still an intern.

  • No, no, no.

  • I said Okay.

  • So you work full time.

  • You two can talk to me a little bit about your previous internship.

  • Until now, I made the transition from quantum trading to the text.

  • So I started out in turning out, said Ido, and then jump.

  • And then in that transition to attack.

  • So before I start forth and you to buy Internet instagram as well, So So you did said that all first and jump You Okay, so I said that you were a quant.

  • Yes.

  • So what did you do that?

  • So the dough I was into, I was looking into the treasury funds.

  • So, like one of the one of the popular techniques and Kwan is to look at correlative financial products so usually, like a lot of like financial parks.

  • Don't movement sink.

  • The market is not perfect.

  • And so, usually some one something like someone's lagging.

  • So some sometimes like one product moves and then, like the other product follows quickly after.

  • But then, if you're able to use Corley of financial products to predict the one that you're interested in, you would have some Alfa there.

  • So what was like?

  • The commodities are securities that you're trading.

  • The ones I was looking at was Treasury bonds Bonds.

  • Doing so and then jump training.

  • Was it again?

  • Treasuries?

  • Eso jump training The internship is a little bit different.

  • So the beginning is like a little bit of training for all the interns to, like, get on the same page.

  • What kind of Jane tree Where?

  • Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, it's kind of it's not.

  • It's not funny.

  • It's what causes more classes and then their I worked on a project where I was trading market events.

  • So, like market events are like big time events where the market is super unstable.

  • So, like examples are like quarterly earnings or like a requirements that the company, of course.

  • And what about when, like someone tweeted about Obama, that was like he was dead or something?

  • Was that like a profitable day?

  • I guess people wouldn't expect that.

  • But Twitter is something that people also about sentimental analysis.

  • It's because I remember from what I understand for, like want firms, whenever there's a lot of craziness or chaos in the market, that's when you can profit the most, cause there's a lot of like, exactly rationality.

  • Yeah, the team.

  • My team I was on was disappear.

  • The tradeoff events like they made all their money just purely on Vince.

  • So how should prepare for those interviews?

  • When did he ask you?

  • Yes, I think I think want interviews?

  • Air kind of the most challenging because they include coding questions, finance questions and statistics, questions and usually the coating questions.

  • What have you done Rico before?

  • Like the man on the website.

  • But just in general?

  • Yeah.

  • So, like usually, like software interviews, air like medium level problems.

  • But then, like that quite interviews.

  • They're like medium or hard level.

  • So is that they're not.

  • You've been asking just for, like, basic software skills they're asking for, like, hired local self Skilling, at that point, like it doesn't really make you a better suffer.

  • Enchanted.

  • You want test you intelligence?

  • Yeah, I think I think what you get in, like the work that you do is like not as near as challenging as, like, the interview problems, but, yeah, I think so.

  • You said that like a fundamental understanding of, like, some basic finance concepts and then some staff kind of stats not set, you know, just like, what's a portfolio like, What's a stock?

  • Yeah, like what was risk.

  • Where?

  • How do you measure risk or like something?

  • Some of these basic thoughts you don't have to be like As sophisticated as I think it doesn't need to go.

  • Oh, what's the Black Scholes model?

  • How did you write that?

  • Probably not.

  • They will ask you to write it, But if you have, I don't know if you know what it is.

  • You know what?

  • And then what about what about stats?

  • Like what kind of questions?

  • They asked.

  • It's you.

  • Do you like your game problems like football coin so many times?

  • Or like, How would I if I have your paper?

  • Yeah, something like that, or like you're stuck in this room with this other guy is always like some very like like a skier, probably like you're stuck on an island and then they say, like you have these different colored hats on like it's like, Oh, how would I arrange a hat?

  • Such diet escape out.

  • It's like always like when he's like like like brain teasers, like just like strep strategy problems like if you're like playing games against someone, so any extracurriculars you did when you were in school that made you lean into finance.

  • Um, I actually didn't really mess with the finance groups on school.

  • I wanted to, like, make all my extracurriculars like, non academic related cause.

  • Like, they're, like, obviously, like about professional, like clubs, like finance clubs, tech clubs.

  • But I didn't want again because because then, like, huh, you spend all your time like building your career, and then you don't have time for, like, having fun.

  • So I didn't really join the clubs.

  • Yeah, I hated I hated that, too.

  • Because when your identity is based on your career or at least like that very narrow minded career path, it's kind of boring you.

  • And honestly, it doesn't make as good like wants or data scientists or softer engineer.

  • Yeah, as you would think.

  • Yeah, so?

  • So I'm guessing you didn't Usually, I didn't know I started music later in my senior year, huh?

  • But then, throughout college, I like kind of like I was, like in a dance troupe.

  • O k pop hip hop stash.

  • Kapok wannabe came up.

  • Yeah, I see.

  • Oh, it's okay.

  • Cool.

  • So why did you switch?

  • Why did I switch?

  • Because it seems like you're a quant.

  • And now you're what's our engineer?

  • Yeah, yeah, yeah.

  • What?

  • What?

  • I switch Lost a lot of money there.

  • Yeah, I did with about money.

  • So I think there's 22 main reasons.

  • So one big reason is like I have loved time now to, like, work on music stuff because, like, I think like a special always quiet, like so is it is very busy, is very stressful.

  • I did want to find something that gives me more opportunity to, like, learn more about myself.

  • I didn't want to Just like it's, like work all the time break.

  • And then the second big reason was I did think that the way financed like thought about things was, like very limited.

  • Everything is like just for the sake of money and like it felt, it made me feel like I was losing, like, some human aspect.

  • But a lot of the people that you do me are like, kind of like like emotion Luzia they cannot like, act pure logically.

  • Yes, yes.

  • Very objective.

  • Make sense.

  • But I hope you don't mind me asking How much did you get paid as a civilian?

  • Turn on John Trading and it's around.

  • I could look above you.

  • Want I could look him up if you want?

  • Um, Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go.

  • Okay, I'm gonna take a quick break on, say some stuff.

  • So 2300 week and then Facebook.

  • I want to say it was like a k a month.

  • Yeah, that sounds about right.

  • That sounds about right.

  • Okay, so yes.

  • So, since you didn't do extracurricular Kwan, how did you know about kwon or wanted being?

  • I was kind of like always, like in the math competition community throughout, Like, no school in high school.

  • Yes.

  • So, like in the math competition space, like usually like you would have, like, you want to send by is yes, way have like, uh, like kids who are, like, two or three years over the nurse.

  • And like, we always look up to them.

  • And then in college, we see, like a lover, send buys like either going to like academic math or, like, software quiet and usually like Kwan is something that's really popular with, like, the competitive math people.

  • So I got I got introduced to that.

  • And then, like, the interview problems are also, like, very representative of, like, the old problems that we used today won't We're, like in high school?

  • Uh, so it was very natural.

  • And it's also, like, very competitive, like in nature.

  • So mix of us, I guess you're always, like, good at math and you compete in math and stuff like that.

  • Did you score well in those competitions?

  • Are you familiar with the U.

  • S competition?

  • Although they are, maybe they are.

  • So you say stuff, I'll just not Yeah, Uh, the furthest I got was too, like the U S.

  • And more, Which is like the U.

  • S.

  • A madman theory.

  • It's about like 500 U S.

  • Students would qualify.

  • It's part of like that.

  • It's part of like it's part of, like, the track to like the U.

  • S.

  • I I'm routine.

  • But I never got that, for that was to our Yeah, but from what I understand, if you want to be in quantum, you gotta be good at math, I guess.

  • Or do you have any other tips for people who want to be in quantum who want to be inquired for high school students were like college students start from high school and then talk about college if they started lying to be.

  • Yeah, I really I really don't like the idea of, like, telling people like what to do, because, like a lot of people, they say, like, I aspired to be X and they say, like, I have steps.

  • 1234 You and then like, and they follow those steps, they say, I read that book.

  • I read that book by student.

  • I still didn't get it.

  • And it's all because of you because you told me to read that book.

  • So I bye feel you, you know?

  • Yeah, you feel me A s.

  • Oh, uh, but I do think like, in general, like, it still is good too.

  • Like, uh, exploded, too.

  • Competitive math or just like exposure to, like, just like stepping outside of, like, your normal school stuff.

  • Like, I think like in school, like you don't get challenged enough you, if you like.

  • Your school doesn't offer, like, competitive match.

  • That was like a very general approach.

  • And honestly, I believe you like factors.

  • Not one single path toe like Juan, But can you just tell me like one kind of Catholic?

  • What should you learn?

  • What you may drink and then like what extracurriculars.

  • You should if you chose some.

  • I hate responding to these messages to about how to get something jammed again to data signs, especially data science.

  • Because for me, I mean, Anna looks and you can do whatever you want to get An elixir.

  • Could be a business duty.

  • Could be a consultant.

  • You could be a math major.

  • Computer science could do anything, but just give them, like, one little one little exp You like one little path that at least you did or you saw people do.

  • Okay, Most common Paddy's.

  • Oh, yeah.

  • Oh, yeah.

  • Like, pretty much, like, high probability.

  • A scoring stuff.

  • Okay.

  • Okay.

  • Through competitive math in high school and then looking smart, you know?

  • Don't be an idiot.

  • You have your E guess.

  • Yeah.

  • Uh, college.

  • I guess the popular majors will be either pure math, applied math, computer science, stats, physics.

  • In some cases, I think a lot of point place is love physics people, for some reason and then extracurriculars.

  • I mean, you could go on your way to do the finance stuff, but then I would suggest against because I think those are more for like, I banking people like what it's all about.

  • Networking.

  • Yeah, Yeah, I think that's pretty accurate.

  • Like they teach you how to work with people that they have classes just purely Just for that, because, like, that's, like a critical part to your, like career path.

  • Yeah, well, I guess that it's enough about Kwan.

  • I want to talk more about your personal life more about, like, your your career in wrapping as an artist.

  • I think for every Robert I'm gonna wrap around artist, but every rapper.

  • Wait, what's the problem of calling you a rapper?

  • What's the word problem?

  • Because Because I don't want to get dissed you in Rapper?

  • Yeah.

  • I don't know what I don't want a drama.

  • Bullshit.

  • I just I just wanna be an artist.

  • Your career in wrapping as an artist.

  • Okay.

  • Yeah.

  • What would you start that, um, I stir that around my senior year of college.

  • That's pretty late.

  • I thought it would be earlier.

  • I think I was always kind of into it.

  • Um, and then I think I think like in college, like there was, like, a dark moment in my life on dhe.

  • Then I think I listen to to park a lot like music does have the power to, like, change your mood or like Brian your day.

  • And so I just kind of want to contribute to that.

  • So I see your shirt won't show the shirt to the camera.

  • Quick, it's freeze up on.

  • Yeah, so are you.

  • I think we have booze more for non agents, but yes, I love enemy.

  • Get so which.

  • Which ones?

  • Which ones you like?

  • Which ones do I like?

  • I grew up with Naruto.

  • I watched, like one or something.

  • E.

  • I want a good amount.

  • Not the start of C.

  • Yeah.

  • So what?

  • So the music that you make, it's more like height music, right?

  • You have some bars?
