  • Okay.

  • Today is April 25th 2018.

  • I am Tim, days out from my college graduation, 17 days out from my wedding in about two cups of coffee, short of actually being a functional human being.

  • And although I'm going to drink these and I'm going to set him down for now, so I don't spill that you guys know how I liketo talk with my hands?

  • Who knows what will happen with two cups of coffee in my hands?

  • I just want Anyway, these next three weeks have the lot plan for them.

  • But right now, in the present, I am in the middle of finals week and I must admit, I got kind of lucky.

  • So in one of my classes, my computational methods and software class, I have a take home exam, which I've been able to work on for the past, like five days or so.

  • They don't have another exam that's online, Although it is like time stamped, I could only work on it for three hours.

  • It's better than having to go into class and my other two classes.

  • I developed programs instead of taking final exams, which it's very nice.

  • I think all these teachers is this.

  • Mr.

  • Actually understand that it's best to give the student essentially all the resource is at his disposal.

  • Like the Internet books.

  • What have you?

  • Because that's kind of how it is in the real world, especially when it comes to someone in computer science.

  • Don't get me wrong.

  • I understand what Tessa for.

  • They're trying to see what you've learned.

  • But one of our biggest tools is Google A software developers.

  • So why can't I use it?

  • Especially if you're able to not just copy and paste some random exam off line?

  • Sure.

  • Then the answers may be available online.

  • You don't want us to find those, But if you actually as a teacher, put in the work to create your own exam, you shouldn't.

  • You shouldn't really have a problem.

  • And for the record, all of that school work in any other work that you see me complete gets done right here in my new office.

  • Molly and I finally got a house.

  • We've been doing a lot of gardening, and I know I've discussed about kind of trying to build out this office to be my own gun a little bit of work done.

  • All I really did is you can kind of see down here how it's like a doorway, because that's like an attic door.

  • I covered it up with this painting in that painting, a few more things that I need to get done.

  • Well, first off, I have lighting ordered on the way.

  • So instead of just using this, uh, this window light and keeping everything dark in the background, I actually will have some soft boxes to put around the office in order to to properly light my studio.

  • Because that's what this is is a YouTube studio.

  • It is a software development station.

  • It is a gaming station.

  • It is my office.

  • I do all of my work in here.

  • And since I ordered those soft boxes like yesterday, they should get here either tomorrow on Thursday or Friday.

  • So my next video will most likely have their soft box set up.

  • I want to play around with them a little bit in the neck in the coming few videos until I get the perfect setup, but finally going to get proper lighting.

  • For the first time ever, I used to just use like a lamp post without any type of soft box.

  • So this is exciting times exciting times going on on the forest Night channel.

  • But also a few more things.

  • It's hard to show you a few things because, well, the whole lighting situation I just mentioned.

  • But right back here, I like I like symmetry.

  • So you're can this camera's gonna be over there kind of looking dead on with this in the background.

  • So I like it to be symmetrical.

  • And right along here, there's going to be a shelf that I'm making.

  • I'm waiting on the sum of the parts and then this is also going to be a shelf that in making it just gonna be a shelf with some piping as the MT.

  • I'm waiting on the piping to put it together in order to mount it on the wall.

  • I guess that makes sense.

  • Then, as you see, all of this, wiring down here will actually be out of the way.

  • So I ordered a surge protector.

  • There's ambulance driving by my house or, if you can hear that, Okay, I think they're gone.

  • I hope nobody's hurt too bad.

  • Anyway, I'm also getting a co ax cable.

  • You have never seen this.

  • But let me let me show you this real quick.

  • So this right here his my dog, Lucy.

  • Good girl.

  • You see?

  • And then this is my co ax cable going to my modem.

  • I know it's hard to see, obviously is dark.

  • Just discuss the whole lighting thing, but I want to run my longer co ax cable.

  • That's another thing I ordered down here in under the carpet kind of running along the wall so I don't have to tear back the whole carpet and then running it down here.

  • And then there are eventually be a shelf right here, like like a standalone shelf made for Mikey or something, and this co ax cable hook onto the modem right here.

  • So now if you could imagine some type of shelf with this sitting on the shelf, then you're good to go.

  • That's how it's going to be hooked onto the car's cable that's hidden under the carpet over there.

  • And that's probably not the best spot for my coffee cups, but guys I'm recording.

  • I I didn't want to spill it, so I put it on the ground next to all my electronics.

  • I think it makes sense, right?

  • And this is also going to be on the same shelf.

  • Is that and hooked up with, Of course, the Ethernet cable And I also ordered a longer Ethernet cable because this router will be situated on the shelf right around there.

  • And I ordered a 14 foot Ethernet cable to run under the carpet all the way to rights here because that is where this will be.

  • All right, So the help you visualize it also say that my lighting is a very good right now in order to other lighting.

  • I think I mentioned that once or twice, but they're putting more perspective.

  • This computer case is gonna be right here in all of the wires running from the monitor right now, we'll be able to run down this monitor arm and then it'll be run down this portion of the desk.

  • Yes, I'm not going to be using this as a standing desk for the time being, because right now the search protector will be sitting right behind the computer that was on the ground if I didn't want to convert this back into a standing desk.

  • Although We'll have the capability.

  • I just won't use it.

  • I will take the PC and essentially put it on top or mounted underneath of my desk alongside the search protector being mounted underneath my desk.

  • That way, the only cable that would be running up and down is a surge protector cable, because everything will be going up and down with the desk in, hooked on to the surge protector.

  • It makes sense in my head.

  • Sorry if it doesn't make sense to you guys, but that's kind of my plan for now.

  • And speaking of the desk, I never completed it.

  • I need to essentially have another one of these boards put on the back.

  • I'm also going to take another one of the boards and kind of put one right here, so it makes it wider, and it makes it longer.

  • Is that my alarm?

  • All right, well, looks like we're gonna have to cut that.

  • They're just know that the office is getting done.

  • I have to hurry up.

  • Shower.

  • Get ready in the leaf.

  • All right.

  • Okay.

  • Here.

  • Looks fine.

  • Beard looks good as a beard is gonna look.

  • Got nice.

  • My nice button up.

  • I like to wear when it's not like to fancy.

  • So, like a nice office colored shirt, but not too lazy, like, you know, just wearing like this teacher underneath.

  • But I also broke out my Nice, Huh?

  • 1000 miler, Wolverine boots.

  • So, you know, nothing too fancy.

  • I just want to make sure I was presentable.

  • Now, there's a little bit of a backstory to who I'm meeting over this lunch and things that nature.

  • But if I told you now, I would be late.

  • Really?

  • Rather not be late for this meeting, so I gotta go.

  • So you wanna get back?

  • And now I'm back.

  • I mean, yeah, I didn't think I was going to take the camera in with me to record this meaning between myself and the CEO of a local software company.

  • Did you?

  • I don't know about you, but if I was him or even if I was me holding the camera, that being awkward experience now, if I was going to be his videographer or he knew that I did this and this is why I was meeting him, that's a different story.

  • But I was discussing a few things with him to potentially work with him now.

  • A lot of you may remember many, many videos ago.

  • I don't remember the title of it, but I had a phone call at beginning of throw.

  • My degree, I've learned to main language.

  • You know this You have a computer science degree, so I've learned to main languages.

  • Yep, that's the one.

  • The guy I was talking to on that phone call is the same fella that I just met with for lunch to discuss a lot of things now, nothing set in stone yet.

  • We're just kind of getting to know each other and potentially.

  • You see, if we wanted toe work together, me essentially go work for his software development company, where I wouldn't just be doing so for development.

  • It would just be sitting in a cubicle, being some type of code monkey or reading documentation all day.

  • I would be more so wearing multiple hats, I'd be working in sales and I'd be working in sulfur development.

  • So kind of like a full circle type job, which sounds busy, may be busy, but so much more interesting than sitting in a cubicle just being some type of code monkey or reading documentation.

  • I still have yet to decide if I want to go forward with this.

  • But don't worry.

  • I'll let you guys know.

  • I mean, I mean, after all, if I do start working for him or for any other company for that matter, your I'm going to see it if you follow me over, linked in.

  • So why not just tell you guys first hand right here, right in my channel?

  • So it just makes sense.

  • But overall, the meeting, it went very well.

  • I got to know him.

  • He got to know me about a lot of my things when it comes to soft development and sales in my past experience within while working in life, and I got to know a bit about him and his company and what they're all about.

  • So the thing is, you know, my last video was about job interviews and stuff like that.

  • As much as you're trying to sell yourself to the company on how why they should hire you, it's on Lee a good interview, and it's only a good experience when the company is also trying to sell their company on why you should come work for them.

  • Otherwise, it's just like a one way street, and that's not how it should go.

  • You're getting something out of the deal.

  • They're getting something out of the deal.

  • And that's really how this conversation went, which is very comforting because I have been in interviews where the company is just asking, What can you do for us?

  • We need you to do this.

  • We need you to do that.

  • But they're not trying to sell themselves or give me a reason to come work for them other than what I think I can make working this position at that company.

  • So it just needs to be a two way street in with this meeting it waas, which is good, but that's enough business talk for now, actually have to get re dressed and get going again.

  • So let's go to the gym now.

  • Normally, what I would do in these videos when I come to the gym is go inside record myself doing one push up or one sit up coming into my car and then leaving because I think it's kind of funny.

  • But today I want to make a different point because that's obviously not harm, really.

  • work out, and most of us being so for developers or what have you ever job is to sit at a desk and do work.

  • We will sit at a desk for 89 10 plus hours many, many days and forget to actually walk around or do something active in order to get our blood running.

  • So I want to challenge all of y'all to make sure at least once a day you do something active.

  • I don't care if that surfing, snowboarding, working out, walking around or just doing whatever sport or activity that you like.

  • Besides playing video games.

  • I love playing video games, but we need to do something that gets our blood moving.

  • I just thought I'd mention that, considering I love to take humor into a lot of things in my life, it's just this is too important to make a humorous every single time.

  • However, I'm not a fitness channel, something during my whole workout.

  • Just be active Now that it's dark outside, this sliding really sucks.

  • Now I'm using this orange light in my office.

  • Don't worry.

  • One day I will change that orange like probably like a Phillips, you light or a life.

  • Excellent.

  • That changes colors.

  • But until then, this is what we're stuck with him while I have you.

  • There is one negative when it comes to working out.

  • Especially working out later in the day is that if you take a shower early, as if you know you're going to work and go to school, you take a shower, freshen up.

  • You got to take another shower after you work out.

  • So that's what I'm gonna do.

  • I'm gonna freshen up.

  • I got a finish up my take home exam and then hop on a twist lashing with you guys.

  • And then after that, I'll probably call it a night.

  • So the next time guys haven't go in peace.

Okay.
