It's always great to do Pacific Island nations on what you think about finally meeting.

Anyway, Palau has a flag, and we kind of have to talk about.

The flag of Palau is a blue banner with a yellow disk in the center.

Pretty simple.

So much of the flags of Japan and Bangladesh.

But like Bangladesh, that disk is a little off center, so that while waving it gives off the image of a center disk.

The bright blue field, of course, represents the ocean and the nation's position in it, as well as the transition from a Dominion to a self governing state.

The yellow disk in the center actually represents the moon, not the sun, a full moon, to be exact, the full moon ties into their culture.

The reason being because the time during a full moon is considered the optimum time for human activity, such as in fishing, sowing, harvesting and tree felling and canoe carving.

It is also a symbol of peace, love and tranquility.

Many might say that it is suggested that the Palau and Flag got its inspiration from the rising sun flag of Japan, symbolizing the friendship between the two countries.

However, the designer of the flag, John Blouse Cabe Ong, has denied the connections are if I butchered his name, given my prior to this there under various other nation states and empire flags, the most recent one being the USA as a trust territory, had six stars representing all of the Micronesian island states that they had under their trust territory.

That's where Micronesia gets their flag from.

On the bottom in English are the words Republic of Palau, whereas on the top lies the words in the Palau and language will Bill era Cholula, which is the name of the national Congress, that translates to the House of whispered Decisions.

Now keep in mind, the state seal also does kind of common a few other different forms with slight differences, especially on embassies, for example.

Some of them contain palm fronds on the side.

The by house has a lot more detail with images and patterns, and some of them have the circle divided into four symbol on the sides of the seal representing wealth we talked about in the episode as well.

But yeah, as a sovereign state, this is pretty much the only steal that they've had.
