- So I did a video with my wife where we had

a style swap, if you don't know anything about me

I dress vintage all day every day.

And in this video I had a swap to being a tomboy.

But I thought I'd try to modern.

- I love it.

- Flo is a beauty influencer who does amazing things

on Instagram and YouTube, and you've just perfected

that modern 2019 look.

- Thank you.

- So I would like to try it please.

Going to go from 1950s to 2019.

- I've got some ideas in my head,

I think it's gonna be good.

- We also have some outfits that have been chosen

by you guys that I have not seen yet,

and I am in no way terrified of putting on.

It's gonna be fine, everything's fine.

Everything will be fine.

- First we need to take your makeup off,

and then we can start.

- Okay.

Meet my face.

I have no eyebrows, I know.

- Wahey.

And this side too.

- I love that they've already got pals.

Look it's so me already.

- It's pretty.

- What are you gonna do first?

- Okay I'm gonna start I think with brows.

Some people like to start with foundation

but I'm a brow girl through and through,

and I'm just gonna start by drawing the outline

of underneath your brows.

We're gonna do Instagram brows.

(smooth piano music)

It looks so strange seeing you with a different

eyebrow style, I haven't even done anything yet

and I feel like you already look quite different.

You're like, I'm so scared.

You shouldn't be scared yet.

- How does my one eyebrow look?

- I'm liking it so far, I'm liking it.

Now I've just got to get the other one to match

which is impossible.

(slurps)

So I'm gonna use a combination of two of the best

bases that are around at the moment.

This bit is incredibly fiddly so if you

could possibly try not to speak for a bit.

Oh goodness.

Okay, and you're good, you can breath and you can relax.

So I'm gonna now do the rest of your eyelids,

so I'm gonna pull that down, so you need to close your eyes,

there we go.

- I should probably tell you by the way.

- Uh-oh.

- You can't talk to me when I have my eyes closed.

I mean you can talk to me.

- Okay 'cause you can't--

- I have no idea what you're saying.

- Okay I get you.

- Or I have Holly.

- So I've got the big pallette now.

Is this out of your comfort zone?

- I'm terrified.

- Don't be scared of it, it's not gonna bite you.

- I use maybe this color here.

- You like the sparkles?

- I feel like I should reign in anything I say to you.

- Just to be safe.

- It's just gonna end up on my face.

- Okay, well I'm just gonna have a plan round and see...

Feeling good?

Oh wow.

Okay, it's pigmented.

It's very pigmented.

- You genuinely just took a step further back from me.

Everything's fine.

It's all good.

(smooth jazz music)

- So I've done the first bit of this eye now,

and then I'm gonna do the other side

and then it's just literally the same as doing

the side that's already been done.

So I'm gonna do that, and then we'll be back.

So I've just back from doing this side,

and now I'm gonna move on to the next step,

and I think I've decided that I'm gonna give you

a halo eye.

- I have no idea what that means, but sure.

- You have no idea what that is.

Okay so you've heard of a cut crease?

- Yeah. - Yeah.

- So a cut crease is from, inside,

yeah okay the inside of your eye to about the middle part.

- Okay.

- A halo eye is just across the middle part.

- Okay? - Okay.

It will probably disappear when you open your eyes, try.

Okay it does disappear, I think I can still get it to work.

- I believe in you.

- Eye believe in you.

- Oh you're making an eye joke.

- Yeah I was making a terrible joke,

I'm sorry, that was horrendous.

- That was awful.

- Yeah I know.

(upbeat jazzy music)

Okay, that is so bright.

The colors, I think if you're worried about using colors

you're not gonna like it.

It's so bright.

I feel much more comfortable on this side,

that sides a lot harder to do.

So this should be a bit quicker.

- That's a lot of lash.

- Yep.

Okay let me just try.

- Oh my God, these things are huge?

- Good?

- It's like you've attached bird wings to my eyes.

- You're gonna fly away.

- Oh my God.

- Is that okay?

I have two very exciting products,

and you get to choose which one you wanna use.

I have a guess as to which one you're gonna want.

- Okay.

- Have you seen these?

- Yeah, I totally watch...

No of course I haven't.

- No you haven't seen these?

Okay so this one--

- No I look at like vintage clothes on Instagram.

- True.

Okay this is called rose gold elixir.

- Okay.

- And it looks like that, and it's got gold flakes.

- Does it have bits of gold in it?

- It does, I know.

And then this one is called unicorn essence.

It's sparkly pink.

- I'm gonna go with the gold one.

- Really?

- Oh was that not--

- That's not, no, no, no, no.

There's no reason, I just thought you would go

for the unicorn one.

- Gold is my favorite color.

- Oh really. - Yeah.

- When you said that your favorite animal was a peacock

I thought that you'd pick something sort of purply or blue.

Gold is one of my favorite colors too.

It's glowing.

- It's 'cause you literally put gold flakes on my skin.

- Yeah that's true.

Well yeah, but we want it to stay glowy.

Okay, we're good.

We're good.

Now I'm gonna take the foundation as we say,

and put that around the edge.

- I just use the dabber thing from the concealer,

and I just stick it in that one.

- Dabber thing, oh my goodness okay.

All right, I'll go with whatever you recommend.

Okay this was sent to me as my shade,

but it's to light for me, we'll try it.

- That one is quite yellowy.

I also have a condition called

postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, I know.

Which basically means that my blood doesn't regulate itself

very properly, and if I sit up or stand up for too long

then all the blood drains from me

down to my feet and I go yellow.

- Seriously?

- Do you find it relaxing?

- This is quite relaxing.

- Yeah, 'cause some people when I say beat their faces

they fully beat their faces.

They go with a beauty blender or whatever.

- I was reading a book the other day about how to be

the perfect modern woman.

It was written in the 1930s so.

- Ah okay.

- Modern is an interesting concept.

And one of the things they recommend

to have a lovely, healthy glow is to take,

you know those things you stretch your shoe with?

- Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.

- You wrap it in cotton wool, and then you smack

your face with it.

- Why?

- Promotes blood flow.

- Do not try this at home, I think we need to have

written across the screen now.

- Don't try this at home, don't try this at home.

Big warning sign.

- This is what I'm gonna be using now.

- What on Earth.

- It's a contour stick.

- Is this the color of my face?

- No, not at all but we're gonna try it anyway,

and it may well go horrendously.

I'm gonna use it very sparingly.

- Do I need to put my face a certain way?

- No you're all good.

- Is my wife even gonna recognize me

when I get home Flo?

- Probably not.

We're on to setting powder, your favorite bit.

- Woo! (Flo laughs)

- I'm gonna do highlighter.

Now, I'm so excited, how have you never

used highlighter before?

- All day matte, every day matte.

- But you've never even played with it.

Highlighters my baby.

- Matte.

- So I'm gonna use this highlighter, look at this.

- Jesus.

- It's so pretty, it's so pretty,

it's all shiny.

- I'm not panicking, you're panicking.

Sorry.

- Ah more of the good smelling stuff.

- Yep.

Okay, we're on to the last step.

- Okay.

- Which is lips, are you ready?

- Red?

- Red, nah.

- Oh.
