  • you're about to see a complete film that I made in 1965 my first professional film called Blue Grass Roots.

  • A real classic.

  • In fact, the Library of Congress purchased this from me.

  • And on my death, it goes to the library.

  • Why not just because of the incredible music and the incredible characters, but because of the storytelling and the speech, which is now classic.

  • My name is David Hoffman filmmaker, and I want to tell you a bit about this film before you see it, because I think it's important.

  • This was very early on in the evolution of country as a national music form and really a treat.

  • So regarding the moonshine, I'm going home.

  • I've done my six weeks.

  • I know I have a great film and gonna do my first edit, by the way, and I asked over over we can I get some of that moonshine?
