字幕列表 影片播放 列印英文字幕 My grandmother served during World War II, and she told me so many stories of how proud she was to be in the military. I joined the air force in 2004. My unit deployed in 2007. I was nervous, I was scared, I didn't know what to expect, I just knew that I wanted to serve my country. My name is Suzie Mills, and I'm the owner of Honest Soul Yoga. Transitioning back home, that was actually really hard for me. I wanted to find a place that I fit in and I belonged. Yoga allowed me to find inner healing. And I was hooked immediately, and it was literally in that moment that I said: "I am opening a yoga studio." My biggest challenge was trying to figure out how to get the word out that my studio was here. It's so important for us to have a presence online, and for us to be easily searchable, for people to find us on a map, to find our phone number. That's how people show up at our door. Since getting on Google, our business grew so fast that we had to expand our hours, we had to hire more staff. Being a veteran we found that clients just felt so much more comfortable coming to our studio because we were military friendly and community oriented. Being a military family that moves a lot, it's about finding community. This is that place where you can find home, and not just in the community but within yourself. I served during the Vietnam War. I was dealing with some PTSD issues. I went to the yoga class and after it was complete, I couldn't recall ever being that relaxed in my life. It's like a safe place, you come in here, you totally forget about what's going on in the outside. You're just here, in the moment. My son, when he comes to work I always tell him: "Mommy's work makes such an impact on so many lives, we're so lucky that we get to do this."
