  • Hello, everyone, and welcome to another video.

  • Now, this is my 25 p or 35 cents E 2160.

  • Ah briefly mentioned it in the previous video in regards to over clocking legends CB use that could be pushed way beyond their original clock speed with very little effort today, I want to see what sort of performance gains we can achieve from this 1.8 gigahertz Jule core Pentium processor.

  • That would have been an ideal solution to budget PC builders with less than £100 or dollars to spend back in 2000 and six.

  • I've paid this with eight gigabytes of cheap DDR two andan a Seuss P five any SL eyeballed along with a stock caller from an ancient HP Compaq system.

  • So how far can we push this out thing and how much of a performance increase where we see with increased process, a clock speeds?

  • As you can see, I created a little makeshift benchmarking sweet out of my Dell laptop box and jumped straight into the BIOS.

  • After adjusting the CB multiply to nine and spending a few hours today tweaking various settings, I was able to get this thing to just under 2.9 gigahertz, a one and a bit gigahertz over clock, even adjusting the vehicle voltage wouldn't allow me to boot three gigahertz, a target I so desperately wanted to hit.

  • But of course, that one depends on lack of the drawer, just like with any process that out there.

  • Still, I think that's a nice, sensible over clock that should be really stick to most.

  • But is it enough to improve our aging in 2160?

  • Or is this old girl down for jumping into some benchmarks?

  • And I started off with some Cebu intensive tests, namely, Geek Bench four.

  • I was showcasing the stock results.

  • Then the over clocked results here.

  • The stock scores left a lot to be desired and were reflective of the systems sluggish performance.

  • But a 2.89 gigahertz.

  • The increase mint a nice boost to those figures.

  • This was a difference that could also be seen in sin.

  • A bench ar 15 whereby the Pentium scored 52 at 1.8 gigahertz, but 111 2.9.

  • This was definitely reflective of performance because the System fella town snappier than it did before, with programs opening a lot quicker and even just general desktop navigation happening a lot faster.

  • But what about games are stocky?

  • 2160 was bound to deliver a poor show performance wise, but could our over clock rescue it here?

  • Starting off with the Tomb Raider benchmark and at 1.8 gigahertz, the average frame rate came back at 39 with 10 80 p normal settings.

  • When paired with a 5 50 t i golden sample, the CPU held our card back.

  • However, with the increased clock speeds, the system was Maur evenly balanced, with the graphics card even becoming the bottleneck in some instances on the frame rate, significantly increasing in file.

  • Cry to the benchmark struggled to retain the 30 FBs average frame right, often dipping below 25 when action on screen started to heat up.

  • After the game completed its three benchmark runs, the total average came back as 26 with direct X 10 enabled on the high settings in use at 2.9 far Christ.

  • Performance increased, though there were still some moments of slowdown during explosions on larger on screen bushfires, though the overall average increased by around 10 f.

  • P.

  • S.

  • Finally, I tried Battlefield One, which gave me this near infinite loading screen at 1.8 gigahertz before loading the gamesopening cut scene and ultimately freezing, at least with the overcoat.

  • The game sort of ran, if you can call it that, but it crashed a few minutes into the game.

  • Play, even so again like this, is far beyond the capabilities of the E 2160 Unfortunately, but for those older titles and overcooked will really give it a nice boost.

  • Overall, the C 2160 really benefited from the increased clock speed, even if gaming isn't on your agenda.

  • General everyday usage felt a lot quicker and more pleasant, and this was reflected in the CBU based test results.

  • With so many older CPU selling for cheap and so many people still using them in everyday systems, ones like this definitely worth picking up, even if you just want to hone your over cooking skills without risking more expensive hardware First.

  • This has been a little bit of fun playing around with the Pentium E 2160.

  • A process of that can be found all over eBay places like that for mere pennies these days.

  • As always, I hope you've enjoyed today's video.

  • If you did leave a light on it, leave a dislike if you didn't subscribe to the channel if you haven't done so already and hopefully I'll see all of you in the next one.

Hello, everyone, and welcome to another video.
