And tonight we're very pleased to announce the third recipient of the Kravis Prize for new music.

This prize is made possible through the very visionary philanthropy of Henry and Re Shows a Kravis.

And their generosity has also led to Philharmonic commissions, numbering 17 different commissions and also supporting the positions of the Kravis composer and residents currently held by a speck of Salomon and the Kravis Emerging composer held by Anna Tour Folds Daughter We had a great selection committee for the crab, a surprise for new music our current music director Alan Gilbert Yap, and stayed in our next music director, Esa Pekka Salonen.

Sir Nicholas Kenyon from the Barbican Centre in London are usually me in the provost Indian of the Juilliard School and our own Daniel Druckman, associate principal percussionist of the New York Philharmonic.

So I'm now proud to let you know who will be the third recipient of the Kravis prize for new music, and that is the Dutch composer Louis Andriessen.

Mr On Drazen is incredibly dynamic composer who has really explored both personal and global topics through his musical voice.

That I think we would describe as both idiosyncratic and very exciting, is really a musical renegade, and he's become a major influence on many composers active today, several of whom have been involved in the Philharmonic's commissioning initiatives.

It's our hope that the Kravis Prize for new music leads to Mister and reasons work, being evermore present in the city of New York and also around the world.

We're also pleased to announce as part of this announcement tonight that the Philharmonic will give the world premiere of a new orchestral work by Mr On Greeson in the 2018 19 season, the first season that will be led by offense waiting as our new music director.

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the stage, Mr Louis Andresen.

Have you ever seen anything like this I have never seen, especially the color where this client spectacular, I would like to the first thing I want to say, and then two little things and then we go because I should never keep you from the music.

That's where we are here for first of all, my best friend's hired musicians.

So I'm very happy to be here, and I will promise to write a very beautiful piece for you.

But you'll never know, of course, because most of the composer's we all prefer all the time are composers from Nobody really liked when they were still alive.

But there's a big problem, and I cannot salt salt it very much.
