  • Hello, everyone, and welcome to another video.

  • Now, before I get started, let me just inform you that I have now made another car video for my second channel.

  • Random car reviews are reviewing my personal Land Rover Discovery what it's like to drive on a daily basis on the many quirks, positives and negatives of that vehicle.

  • So if you want to check it out, the link is in the description below.

  • I'm really happy with how it turned out.

  • And I hope you guys will give that channel with chance, even if you're not that into cars.

  • So moving on and let's get into today's video.

  • So inside this box should be a radio on our 9 to 90 a $400 graphics card that released in 2000 and 13.

  • I love a good bargain.

  • So today I thought I'd try something different.

  • What if I could save more money by buying a card on eBay listed as 40 and attempt to repair it?

  • Well, what better car to start within this aging flagship that I paid just £30 or $40 for pretty good, considering the cheapest I found elsewhere here in the UK was retailing at £140.

  • So what's the issue with this one?

  • Well, the seller said, it's unstable and crashes when you installed the AMG drivers.

  • So I guess all we can do is install it and see.

  • Before that, though, I carried out the usual maintenance I do with the old cards and replace the thermal paste to ensure that overheating wasn't causing us a problem.

  • More on that later, they are nine to nineties did run hot, especially with the stock blower fan as found on this power color version.

  • After that, I installed it as part of my rise and 5 1600 system, where it looked right at home among the black and red theming on initial boot up.

  • The card worked fine, but the minute device manager recognized it.

  • The screen went black and gave me the no signal message to counter this, are quickly restarted without an Internet connection, uninstalled the video card drivers and jumped into the system settings disabling automatic device installation.

  • I then ran am these auto detect program, which recognized the card and installed the latest radion software.

  • Because this wasa flagship GPU it still supports, I am These fantastic radio really feature a must for anyone who wants to record gameplay, stream game play or even just captured the desktop with minimal or no performance loss.

  • It's pretty much the equivalent of invidious shadow play.

  • Now this quick uninstall and reinstallation of the drivers seem to fix the crashes and gave me a chance to study the specs.

  • A card like this should still be able to play most modern games out there with respectable settings at 60 frames per second.

  • However, it wasn't done toying with me just yet.

  • Oh, no, because as our launched battlefield one that cuts seem just about ended before I got a black screen once again.

  • This time, though, the card waas overheating.

  • As I said, thes did run hot, and the cold was already idling at nearly 50 degrees before shooting up to 95 and switching off.

  • Once again, I applied different thermal paste, jumped into a couple of older games whereby the cards still shut up to at least 85 degrees.

  • At this point, though, the card didn't turn off.

  • Having said that Battlefield one and even dirt for still turned my bedroom into a sauna and once again the card failed on us.

  • Usually I'm prepared and would already have purchased an aftermarket caller for such a situation.

  • But I didn't think I'd get it working, and I didn't know what the exact fault was at the time.

  • So I'm going to order one now before I bring you the full.

  • What's the are 9 to 80 like in 2000 and 18 video?

  • Because so far the answer is just very hot.

  • But, hey, we fixed it so off, and even after buying a caller, we will have saved a nice bit of cash.

  • I'm just hoping the cooler itself is the issue, and I don't have to fiddle around with the cards by us.

  • But we'll have to see.

  • And hopefully I can bring you an updated performance based video on this card a little later in the week.

  • That being said, I'm not telling any of you to go out there and purposely by 40 cards.

  • But if you see a card on eBay, advertised despairs or repair, make sure you read the description carefully because sometimes the fault will sound very minor.

  • And if it sounds fix of all within your level of skill, then it's definitely worth going for if you want to take that risk.

  • I thought I'd approach the budget side of things a little bit differently today.

  • I hope you've enjoyed this video once again.

  • I'd like to just say that I have made a car video on the other channel.

  • If any of you guys want to check that out on this video that lever, like if you enjoyed it, leave a dislike.

  • If you didn't subscribe to the channel if you haven't done so already and hopefully I'll see you all in the next one.

Hello, everyone, and welcome to another video.
