  • we're back.

  • Welcome to transfer Talking, Discussing Manchester United Tottenham West Time Sheppard United Ranges UNM Much more this hour.

  • It's a show.

  • Yeah, it's a It's a very, very busy deadline for the W W W S Alan, which closes certain three clubs trying to get a player before 5 p.m. myself on the ship.

  • Books and Cook will give you all of the details and you can tweet the show at Sky Sports News is using the halftime transfer talk.

  • You now know the latest transfer talk Focus right now available on iTunes speaker on the Sky sports website.

  • But we start with Manchester United's a disappointing night for them in the Premier Li losing two nil to Burnley at home.

  • Only gonna sell shot is overseeing the club's worst points tally after 24 games in over 30 years, and James Cooper is outside Old Trafford for us.

  • James are the board considering any change at this time?

  • No, they're not Tom.

  • It's business as usual for Mantis United, but obviously the environments not great.

  • You just talk about some of the stats there.

  • Let me add to those who look at David Moyes, who was sacked here in the April 10 months into his reign at Manchester United, will after 24 games he had 10 more points in only six more points than against OSHA has.

  • Right now you look at the situation.

  • He lost a Burnley last night well since always become the permanent manager here at Manchester United.

  • Burnley have won more games in the Premier League.

  • The Manchester United have said these leak ingredients but the other side of the coin, of course, is that they're fit in the Premier League.

  • They have slipped a little in their pursuit of fourth and yes, there is only four points between fifth and 14th.

  • But they also lost their second home game in the Premier League this season, so there's plenty of strange ingredients in this one.

  • I mean, the bottom line is this isn't good enough for Manchester United and it certainly isn't good enough for the fans.

  • They're making their presence and voice felt very much.

  • It was toxic inside Manchester United last night, pretty unpleasant with talk of killing and burning people on the board.

  • You could say it's not great but one thing I will say is that none of that kind of vitriol is being directed towards Allah.

  • Gonna sell show.

  • He's doing his best.

  • I think in many ways the carpet has been pulled from underneath him this season, particularly because of injuries.

  • You look a ballpark or not being there.

  • Marcus Rashford, Scotland Tom in a place that would make a major difference and then you hear him talking about his squad being stretched.

  • I think that would stretch is interesting.

  • I think it means it mentally and physically exhausted.

  • I think it also means number otherwise that Manchester United haven't got enough key players to come in and fill the holes left by those three players that I was talking about.

  • So nothing looks good for Manchester United at the moment.

  • I don't think anyone came to all traffic last night expecting them to lose to Bernie.

  • I think that's the problem.

  • The way things have gone, they've had a bad result much like perhaps livable and then got a good result.

  • I think United fans came here last night expecting did that to be the case that I was surprised by the level of performance and the fact that burly had a much better plan and executed it much better than Manchester United did.

  • So plenty there.

  • But the thought of doing anything in terms of the manager for Manchester United, they will support him.

  • They're trying to do that.

  • They're trying to bring players in.

  • This is for the long term.

  • Certainly at this stage, no suggestion that only gonna sell shot is even being thought about as not being manager of Manchester United, certainly from the boardroom.

  • But with all of that that you've said taking into account, how important is these next eight days with him wanting to strengthen his squad?

  • Yeah, you know, it feels like I've been asked that same question for the last three weeks, how important the next week and it's got worse, worse, worse.

  • But I think you know there is an opportunity, maybe just to change the narrative.

  • And I feel a little bit sorry for Bruno Fernandez.

  • That he's being hailed, Perhaps, is a central Portuguese messiah.

  • To change things around at Manchester United when he's 25 years old, has done quite well in Portugal, but it hasn't lit the whole place up, hasn't ever played Premier League football, but I think him coming will change the narrative and I think again it might just go down to the wire.

  • And that will kind of ramp up the tension even more on Manchester United by not bringing faces in because, you know, I think he wants to come.

  • I think Sporting Lisbon need the money, including Manchester United.

  • Want the player, too?

  • So I think you kind of say It'll suggests that things might go through a negotiation and come right down to the wire.

  • On top of that, they need a striker as well.

  • We saw that last night.

  • You know, Marcus Rations presence.

  • The scene has been incredible.

  • The best season he's had in the red shirt of Manchester United take him out of the equation on the gold threat diminishes.

  • They need to play that come in on be someone that can score goals alongside the likes of Mason Green with a nun, Anthony Marshall, who's miss crucial chances in back to back games.

  • So there is an opportunity to change things to bring players in.

  • But I think it's also perhaps expecting an awful lot of those players if they do come in to really change things for Manchester United.

  • I think what's interesting is I've been reminded that, you know, this is a rebuilding process.

  • It started last year with those three players coming in the window.

  • I think it continues.

  • I don't think they got rid of as many places they wanted to nor broads may players in on.

  • The suggestion is that Ali gonna social will be given time to make this his Manchester United.

  • But clearly, with each bad result, each or for statistic that were churning out together, that job becomes more and more difficult.

  • James, Thank you.

  • There has been a bit of transfer news from Manchester United in the last hour or so.

  • Nit.

  • It's more bad news.

  • As James was talking about into the land of rejected an offer from Manchester United, Simon feel that Matty's Pacino on loan.

  • That's according to Skye in Italy.

  • The two sides couldn't agree on the conditions off the deal.

  • Okay, so we don't know if they might go back in for him.

  • But Dave, tell the fans what sort of player is?

  • I think James mentioned it that with poor results comes more tension.

  • As we head towards deadline day for Manchester United, we had Fabrizio Romano of Sky, Italy on the transfer podcast on Tuesday.

  • She's still available to download Good episode on.

  • He was saying that Casino really isn't made for contest style of football.

  • He's not in his first choice midfield.

  • There's other midfielders.

  • The Inter Milan have been looking at their first looking at Archer over Dow.

  • Now switching their attention more to Christian Eriksen is that seems a more probable deal for Inter Milan to get done, He was saying.

  • That concept wants to play Sensi for L am.

  • Brockovich is his midfield three, maybe with a potential adult of Christian Eriksen.

  • In this in this window is a central midfielder has played on the rights of the central midfield.

  • Deep Lying has a terrific range of passing 28 years of age, though, so you wonder whether we're talking about transfer strategy on good morning transfers.

  • The fact that United went for young British talents in the summer, a player at 28 years of age does that fit in to that narrative?

  • Maybe no played with obviously Cavani in soirees with the Uruguay national team into announcement.

  • £20 million on him in 2017 from Fiorentina is known at Tumeric Show.

  • Sorry because he played under him at Empoli as one of two defensive midfielders while he was at Empoli on loan.

  • So he's known simmering.

  • She Oh, sorry.

  • There are a couple of links to Chelsea not so long ago with that connection there, so it seems like he's not made for contest.

  • I love football and they may be, would like to move him, move him on.

  • And that is why Manchester United have been looking at Yeah, they want a midfield export poppers Bean, injured so much this season, is talking about him.

  • His agent, Mino Raiola, says Manchester United have failed to match the French midfielders ambition since he rejoined the club in 2016.

  • This is what Raiola had to say to us yesterday.

  • Ambition from both parts is not being met.

  • The last year's let's be honest, let's talk about the elephant in the room.

  • So we need to see in the summer if Paul is still in the plans of Manchester United and if mentions, the night is still in the plans before.

  • But I'm not going to speculate around it down.

  • You want to sit down and talk about it.

  • You can't write.

  • My job is to listen.

  • God gave me two years in one month.

  • Okay?

  • All right, so if we take away, take what he said there and other things he said to us as well and made it sound like he's going in the summer.

  • Yeah, I think at this point is inevitable.

  • That ballpark book will leave in the summer.

  • We reported a line last week from Sky in Germany that said he is expected to leave Manchester United in the summer with a couple of really big names linked to him.

  • We have election night on the show last week who voice off the fan said.

  • It is really kind of sad state of affairs now.

  • They wish there was a way back for this player at Manchester United.

  • But it's just a bit of a like James said, in relation to Manchester night.

  • Toxic kind of environment.

  • And that is the word that is throwing up a lot with all proper and you know, this is a world class player on his day.

  • He is absolutely phenomenal.

  • We've seen glimpses of that Manchester United, but I think United fans probably wish there were more days off that but a lot of talk in the summer on this show particularly.

  • And we've barely seen him because of injury.

  • Seven Premier Li appearances.

  • A couple of those off the bench when United fans were excited that he was returning in December and then our injured again had to have surgery on his ankle.

  • So sad for the player and off.

  • Of course, he will want to be part of Manchester United back end of the season gearing up to the Euros.

  • He is well cut, winning with France, of course.

  • Look for me.

  • I don't know what you guys think that its value probably hasn't really decreased in a sense, because he hasn't featured a lot this season, so he hasn't really been part of the bad form of Manchester United and off the pitch is a player who has a massive profile, been very active on social media, he's got more followers and it's ground than Manchester United.

  • You know, he's one of added ass is leading footballers, so it'll be interesting to see what happens.

  • But I think it's a party of ways is inevitable come the summer, but when he is fit and he does play Mark.

  • There's no doubt that he is a top midfielder.

  • I find it fascinating that pool Popper gets so much stick.

  • Even though he's not playing for Manchester United.

  • It just seems remarkable that a player is the target of so many sort of, you know, toxic comments just because of the things he hasn't done, all the things he has done, all the things he said.

  • All the things he's done online.

  • Every time I've watched pull Popper, he's ran the game.

  • His statistics for running in the matches I've been specifically at have been superb.

  • I think he's a top class player.

  • Emma mentioned all the things he's achieved in his career.

  • There's no questioning his ability, particularly with the things he wanted.

  • Your dentist on with.

  • France will probably feature really heavily if he's fit in the summer in the European Championships on, there's be no surprise if he was one of the best midfielders in the tournament because he's got that quality S o.

  • I do feel really sorry for him that he gets that targeted by so many Manchester United fans and people within the media for not performing the way that people expect into.

  • But he's got a lot of quality, and I think when he comes back into that Manchester United side he will make a real difference.

  • And it seems a shame that they're gonna lose a player of this quality because it only seems now matter of time before Paul Popo is heading out of the Old Trafford exit particular off the back of his agent's comments there.

  • A lot of the criticism that's being leveled at Manchester United to transfer dealings has been at the lack of ah, sporting director or director of football.

  • That's something we put to Andy Mitten off United.

  • We stand earlier on on good morning transfers.

  • I don't think Josie Morino wants you want.

  • I don't think they're gonna want fun.

  • I don't think English football managers like the idea of having their power taken away on DDE bands of talks with some desperation about a sporting director and I asked that would would suit his face what is happening.

  • And he talked about a big scouting team and the football experts on dhe, the expertise within the football areas.

  • And if you look at some of the CVS and the people at Manchester United.

  • They're incredibly impressive.

  • They worked a very, very high level, but they're always gonna be judged on the players that they bring in on.

  • The recruitment in the post Ferguson era has been mediocre at best.

  • Explained it quite well.

  • They're on limiting James.

  • But can you understand why some fans do what Manchester United tohave a sporting director?

  • Absolutely.

  • I mean a sports direct's crucial if you get a chop and change managers like Manchester United have over last seven years.

  • I mean, we've seen four new faces since Sir Alex Ferguson to control.

  • What that means is you got four new managers that come in with different visions off where they see the club moving forward.

  • What the needs off the squad are a sporting director would have had that consistency throughout.

  • Those 70 has been able to work on a project regardless on who the manager is.

  • I think stability is Kit Man United.

  • If you're going to have a say, gonna put a faith into a league in a social, you're gonna give him the responsibility to bring in those players.

  • But if you've got sports director there to be in control of their transfer policy.

  • I think right now, Man United, that's probably what they need it because I feel like with Manchester United's, I mean, we talk about it.

  • We talked about when Sir Alex Ferguson left in 2013 and the changes since then.

  • But we don't really talk about the fact that David Gill left his role as chief executive and they had such a great relationship over the 10 years that David Gill was in his role and he kind of, you know, I was able to quickly and fastly negotiate these deals.

  • He oversaw some great transfers, a lots of new Manya vintage, the likes of Michael Character.

  • But hey at Wayne Rooney coming to the club and they had such a great relationship and we talk about Sir Alex Ferguson.

  • That's both of them, Really.

  • It's quite interesting you talk about Sir Alex.

  • Harry Redknapp said, right, the beginning of the transfer window that the job of the manager has changed so much over the last few years.

  • That is no longer than manager's job to go out and scout place.

  • He used to go in love watching games on a Tuesday or Wednesday or Saturday or Sunday identify the players himself.

  • He'd go and watch them himself, and then he'd signed them itself.

  • But things have changed so much.

  • The job of a manager now is to make sure the team wins games.

  • The job of a sporting director is to make sure the whole infrastructure of the club is running in the right direction so that the sporting director will be thinking right.

  • We need to sign these plays in January.

  • These players in the summer.

  • We need to look at these positions for 18 months for 24 months, and they have a whole plan.

  • Where is the manager's job, Really, just to make sure the place that he's getting in are the ones he wants and the ones that you can get performing and getting results right now.

  • Okay, all right.

  • Tell you what.

  • Loads of other stories.

  • That's how their state of play with yes, West Ham have not registered on interest in resigning.

  • Dimitri Pious US.

  • Despite reports in Frantz, six Premier League clubs are interested in signing top left back Danny Rose this month.

  • Gareth Bale's agent, Jonathan Barnet, says the Ford is fine and we'll see out his contract at Rail Madrid despite load of speculation over his future at the Burn about last year.

  • Manchester City We got Ian Poveda is undergoing a medical.

  • It leads Middlesbrough, Stoke and Darby want to sign a form of defending Jack Simpson on loan restore overs.

  • Have announced the signing of Chelsea goalkeeper Jamal Blackman on loan until the end of the season.

  • So much more.

  • On the way this lunchtime, we'll have news on the future of Danny Rose and AM Tone.

  • What else is coming up?

  • Well, listen, folks and Cook joins us at the Breakers.

  • We break down everything that's going on.

  • Double your cellar deadline day as the bottom to make moves.

  • You're welcome back to transfer.

  • Sort not long left until the deadline passes.

  • WSL clubs to get plays through the door and books and cook is with us all afternoon.

  • We expect three clubs to be active today are still well, they're trying to finalize the deal to sign Sydney FC is Caitlin Ford.

  • That one's going right to the deadline, though.

  • We'll bring you a look that update on that later.

  • But the other two clubs looking to be active today well there the bottom to Liverpool on Bristol City.

  • And we understand that Bristol City are close to signing a big tiger.

  • Really closely.

  • Guards.

  • Oh, play you know all about Alicia.

  • Tell us all about what you're bringing to Bristol City.

  • I think she's gonna be a great signing for Bristol City.

  • You know, Not only do they need to shore up the defensive statistics have conceded 37 goals, but they need to start scoring a few and calories and exciting players.

  • She wants to run with the bullet of fate.

  • She's got a great work rate as well.

  • And I think she'll provide a little bit of support for Ebony Saban up front who has been doing well for Bristol.

  • But it's just so difficult when you're when you're spending most of the time defending.

  • We've got a little bit of a bit of a fat file about about clover place that don't really know much about.

  • I think one of the one of the great things swell the back.

  • Chloe is the fact she's coming in at a great age, Sumi, only 25 with lots of experience.

  • Yeah, look, I think the last World Cup watching Khloe.

  • I really saw a maturity and a sophistication to a game.

  • She had a great game against Brazil when we're under a lot of pressure after a poor result drawing with Italy in the first match and she came up with a goal and I think she was one of the players of the match for me in that game and I think this experience over here is well, it's just gonna add to that maturity which obviously, you know, my selfish point of view is great for the Australian team.

  • Exactly.

  • I want to bring up the bottom four in the w So you briefly mentioned it.

  • It's so tight down there.

  • I mean, the's silence really could make a difference between staying up or not, I suppose.

  • Especially Liverpool Making move, signing a new goalkeeper and right across to us.

  • Well, yeah.

  • I mean, how's that injury?

  • Poor Frankie Chicken, right?

  • Who would be a goalkeeper?

  • Right?

  • For those who don't know, poor Frank itching is basis of the horrible facial injury right down, right down the face and run down from the top of the head.

  • But look at the look of the relegation battle there.

  • That is tight, isn't it?

  • Yeah, I mean, and it's very tight.

  • But if you look at Bristol City there, under some serious pressure on their goal difference of minus 29 is not pretty to look at.

  • Which again?

  • I think they've shored up talking to Tanya, she was told.

  • You know, it's the spine of the team.

  • It's like football 101 And she really needed to get a couple of decent midfielders, which she has, and shore up her back line.

  • And then, I think, with the addition of Gloria's, well, that'll take a bit of pressure off the Bristol City.

  • Signed John Gar Youlus.

  • Well, who's the South Korean with more than 100 caps?

  • Is it those kind of things that gonna be vital for whoever stays up?

  • Yeah, there's still got quite a young squad there.

  • There's a couple of experience internationals and Lauren docks, but you know, they really need someone just to control that midfield to get hold of the ball.

  • And just make sure if they are under pressure defending that someone can organize and and make sure they don't get their heads down, because what they have done this season is if they concede one.

  • They tend to concede two or three quite quickly, and that's difficult.

  • And I think that's the mentality thing.

  • So having someone with that much experience is gonna help him out, so brighten they are forth from bottom three points above the relegation places.

  • What we heard.

  • We heard from Hope Powell a little earlier that head coach, she said.

  • They may well do some business today, but we try and work some of in the future.

  • So we were continuously looking lots of movement in the transfer window.

  • We, you know, we we keep looking until the window closes, and then, if you know anything, bites, we'll go from there.

  • This is surprise you that potentially Brighton Birmingham may not do something today.

  • Always it there see the bottom to acting and they may well be forced toe twister.

  • I'd be surprised if we did see transfer business from them.

  • I think you know it's difficult.

  • These the clubs that don't have huge budgets compared to the top teams they're fighting along like hope said.

  • They want to try and develop from internal you know, within their own scored.

  • But I think It's just it's the depth of squad, you know, you get a few injuries towards the end of the season, then you're really up against it.

  • So but also, who are you going to attract in January transfer window when maybe you towards the bottom of the the bottom of the table, which is where I think you know, bristles?

  • I think Tony's done really well.

  • So actually get the players that she's got because realistically there in the relegation battle, they really are.

  • We're gonna focus on the top of the table and some of your Australian comrades later in the programme.

  • This well, but like with fewer than five hours to go, it's starting to heat up.

  • Yeah, What I exciting last four and 1/2 hours or so left in that.

  • Okay, this news will not excite Rangers fans.

  • In fact, it will send shivers down their spine.

  • Okay, because severe are in Spain and considering it a move for their striker are freed umbrellas.

  • And by the way, that's not in the summer as this month that considering all right Rangers, obviously keen to hold on to 28 goals nor competitions this season, is obviously attracted interest from clubs around Europe and clubs in the Premier League as well.

  • But he is so important to Rangers they look to win the Scottish Premiership title.

  • Head coach Julian Lob Ortega wants to strike.

  • That's Javier Hernandez is off Thio l A Galaxy Now.

  • Two months ago, the range is departing.

  • Chairman Dave King attempted to fend off a growing number of admirers by saying the club wouldn't even sell him for £40 million.

  • However is difficult to see.

  • Our Rangers could afford to turn down a kind of offer as Bigas that £40 million.

  • But they will be desperate to keep him.

  • He is vital for him.

  • Just like Elson.

  • Eduard is for Celtic.

  • Steven Gerrard will not want to see our freedom.

  • Roscoe, we're gonna be watching that one.

  • Any more news?

  • We'll let you know.

  • No bid yet, but Severe are looking at him and considering a bid all right to someone else who needs a strike.

  • And that is taught because the injury to hurricane But is now teammate Christian Eriksen Have we seen him in a talking shit for the last time he came on last night in their win over Norridge.

  • But could he leave this month or I am a What's the latest?

  • I think fans keeps thinking I've seen him the last time.

  • Don't you hear the latest?

  • We know that Eriksson himself met with a top chairman, Daniel Levy, earlier this week and reiterated that he wants Theo to Inter Milan way, then know that his agent met with Daniel Levy last night after that game against Norridge.

  • Like you said, Eriksson did, Feature came on for the last half an hour continues to feature for Tottenham.

  • We understand here it's guys.

  • What's news at Tottenham value him close to £20 million into so far of offered 11 million with two bonuses, which, of course, would depend on success and appearances.

  • So it's still a question or valuation at the moment.

  • I mean, we've got what eight days left now.

  • I think this is something that will happen.

  • I spoke to Joe's Emory no last Friday, who himself said it's frustrating for the player.

  • You know, Christian Eriksen frustrated, So they just need to be a bit of clarity now, doesn't there on his future?

  • Yeah, I think you're absolutely right in terms, I said.

  • that Todd number in need of a striker.

  • James.

  • What's the latest on that?

  • But we understand that Spurs held talks with our associate that a striker, William Josie, to bring him to the club.

  • We know down in desperate need of a strike with Hurricane Opal.

  • Sea out until at the earliest April.

  • Now Josie was left out off the road.

  • So should add squad for their game in its capital, right in the competition.

  • Excuse me against the spaniel last night and that was his own request is welcome.

  • He wants his future clarified.

  • According some reports in Spain wth the deal was actually really close on.

  • There were some rumors that he was on a plane to London last night so we could hear a little bit more today on that one.

  • Yeah, I'm sure Josie Rini will be looking at other target striking targets as well, just in case that one doesn't work out.

  • Mark, As you know, not just January, but last summer as well.

  • So many top fans getting in touch has transfer talk, just really hoping that maybe they could get Gareth Bale back to the club.

  • All right, well, we have actually heard from his age and what he said.

  • Yeah, this is the big dream and I hate to shatter the hopes of Tottenham fans, but this is absolutely not gonna happen.

  • And it was confirmed yesterday by our chief news reporter, Brian Swanson, who was in Barnet.

  • It was a meeting with the most powerful agents in the game on Jonathan Barnet.

  • Gareth Bale's agent spoke yesterday on.

  • This is what he's had to say, he said.

  • He's got another two and 1/2 years left on his current contract and he's fine.

  • He will be there.

  • Everything will be fine.

  • That's what I've always said and I've never deviated from that.

  • Things could change, but loans are ridiculous.

  • Not many clubs can afford him anyway.

  • He's happy and hopefully he can win a couple more things with Rael Madrid.

  • So Jonathan Bonnet in Barnet being very, very vocal about Gareth Bale not going anywhere.

  • He settled in Madrid.

  • He's happy.

  • He wants to win more things.

  • He's very well paid as we know.

  • So the chances of him joining Totten in this window or potentially even in the future look sadly slim to none.

  • Att, tthe e end of that interview actually might hurt Brian Swanson, said Thio.

  • I think whoever else was there, said Thio Jonathan Barnet.

  • So wouldn't he want to go back to talking about John?

  • Barnett said, Well, I'm an Arsenal supporter trying to put the block on that I'm sure, is only joking that if bail stays a Real Madrid, innit?

  • Jon Barnes has your state Real Madrid and it is not getting much of a game is a bit of a waste that we're missing seeing him because we know how good he is.

  • We're missing out, I think.

  • Gareth Bale, in full, full, mowed down the left hand channel.

  • Cutting inside scoring girls are setting goals up in his prime is one of the greatest spectacles in football.

  • Hey has really been superb over the last 10 years.

  • His meteoric rise from Southampton.

  • I was lucky enough to watch him in the Saints under 18 when he was a youngster playing at left back Andi, You could see then he had quality.

  • He had great delivery, kept scoring free kicks.

  • That was on Dhe.

  • I remember that and then he got his big move to Tottenham.

  • Harry Redknapp developed him as a player and then he's a global superstar, playing for Real Madrid, winning Champions League after Champions League after Champions League.

  • This man needs to be on a football pitch.

  • He needs to be playing football and it's sad that he's not being utilized in that way for Rome.

  • Madrid.

  • I understand both sides of the corn.

  • You know he's happy and content and only good money and wants to be in Madrid but did and doesn't want to play a more.

  • Utilize him as much as you perhaps should.

  • But the bottom line is good.

  • Players need to be on the pitch, not on the bench.

  • I think it's a fan.

  • You want to see the best of Gareth Bow.

  • You know we miss that.

  • But Robert, your fans and ourselves haven't really seen that for quite a few years now.

  • It's going on and on.

  • We spoke about Gareth Bale, probably every single transfer window that's passed slowly over the last two or three years and from what I hear he's very settled.

  • He's very happy in Madrid.

  • He's got what two and 1/2 more years on his contract.

  • I don't think he's gonna go anywhere.

  • He might pick up some more medals 30 years old?

  • Oh, no.

  • He's been there for seven and 1/2 years, which is quite something.

  • It shows how well that we remember him so clearly in the Premier League down that left or right hand side for Tottenham around.

  • But recently, But I don't see him going anywhere now.

  • I think he's pretty set up shop now around you.

  • I'm quite happy.

  • And he played and scored last night in the carpet.

  • All right, you see?

  • So he is actually still involved in his agency and he's going nowhere, right?

  • Remember, you can download the latest transfer talk podcast right now available on iTunes Speaker on the Sky Sports website.

  • Next, we'll hear from Sheffield United manager Chris Wallace on the new signing.

  • Jack Robinson.

  • Can the Sheffield United now?

  • Sorry.

  • Fury in the studio.

  • Someone somewhere on Twitter has just said that Mark looks like screech from saved by the bell.

  • He thought we were talking about Slater and he got all excited and then realized what screech.

  • Actually, that wasn't quite the compliment.

  • Expect right, united.

  • Okay, they've signed Jack Rodwell on the Sign Jack Robinson, this window, We'll hear from Robinson in a moment before.

  • Let's get to the manager, Chris Wilder on Dad.

  • You're right here.

  • It sounds like while that would like to get this business done before the deadline next Friday, we're in discussion.

  • Obviously, these another another week to go.

  • Um, that day is obviously actually in my mind because it's my wedding anniversary.

  • Got a couple of things to do on that day, but quite like to sign a couple of players before that.

  • I think I made it clear that, you know, we needed to cover a couple of positions in the back free back five.

  • We certainly don't with Jack Robinson, but you're always looking and you never know what what trying to call him.

  • He said that so deadpan as well.

  • That was my anniversary deadline day, so I don't really want to be working.

  • One play that he has just joined, as we said, was Jack Robinson.

  • Two and 1/2 year deal.

  • We can hear from him now.

  • I always wanted I always wanted to come here, even when it was 23 years ago when the opportunity to commit was there.

  • It was something there and I told my agent on family that this is a court that I definitely wanted to come to.

  • Chris didn't need to sell it to me.

  • I think lots of soul, that's me the way they've performed over the last three years have been watching them in the championship played against him in the championship.

  • And then, obviously what they don't initiate is 1,000,000,000.

  • So a I think the club is our whole sold itself.

  • Mia.

  • Yes, sir Mark Jack Robinson's come in.

  • Jack Rodwell came in a free before that.

  • What have you made of Sheffield United transfer policy?

  • Not just this month, but back in the summer as well.

  • I love Chef would unite.

  • I think Chris World has done an absolutely incredible job.

  • He watched him when he was the Northampton boss and he was great there.

  • And then he obviously had his opportunity with Oxford, and then chef would united where he has really come alive on Dhe.

  • I think you've seen a very different philosophy from Norris City and Aston Villa.

  • Chef would united.

  • They're gone for a tried and tested players that they know plays that he's worked with before.

  • He's got a good report with and he's brought the very best out of someplace on 11 play in particular.

  • I'd like to single out is obviously least me say someone who I watched a lot down on the South Coast that Borman didn't really happen for him under Eddie.

  • How but undoubted quality that I always remember.

  • Jermain Defoe.

  • Every time I spoke to Germaine about training or about strikers in the football club, he always said to me, at least Macey's one of the best strikers I've ever worked with his top top quality.

  • We just never saw it in the red and black performer.

  • But Chris Wilder took a punch on him, took him up to Sheffield over the course of the summer and he's been instrumental.

  • Whilst the figures are superb, his goals have all been important goals.

  • He scored the winner against arson.

  • We scored against Manchester United, he scored against Everton as well s o, a player that has been transformed under Wilder.

  • I think any player that goes to Sheffield United will be looking at the way they do business will be looking at the gaffer and they'll be going.

  • He could make me better and I want to be a part of that really tight unit.

  • I think Sheffield United almost achieved their aim so far in this transfer window.

  • They wanted a right sided central defendant to cover Chris Basham, and they've got Jack Rodwell through the door.

  • Jack Robinson will now come in to provide cover for O'Connell.

  • Maybe even his versatility could stretch to under Stevens as well.

  • In the left wing back position at the only other position that they were looking at was to provide cover for the passing Metrodome in Central midfield.

  • Only Norwood's not quite achieved that yet, but hopefully gets that done before the anniversary.

  • It's deadline day in the W S L.

  • Let's go back to Anton to see what's going on.

  • Yeah, just over four hours to go.

  • Until that deadline passes for women's clubs in England's top divisions to sign a player.

  • Joining me until that deadline passes is from Australia.

  • Internationally, ship folks and I want to talk to you about something that probably means a lot to you.

  • All the Australian players coming in, especially what what will be the story of deadline day ourselves?

  • Potential signing of Caitlin Ford?

  • The deal they're trying to get done.

  • What will can't afford?

  • Bring two arsenals title defense.

  • If that deal gets done, it's more attacking power.

  • Basically, And, you know, I think it'll be difficult for our for Caitlin Thio immediately make an impact in that team.

  • You know, you got Beth meet on one side, Lisa Evans on the other side, but I think that would be good for Caitlin's development.

  • And I think it's good for me tomorrow as well.

  • You know, watching the game against Chelsea on Sunday, she was quite isolated.

  • The distances were too far apart.

  • So I think that's definitely something that Joe knows, that he needs Thio.

  • He needs to fix it.

  • If you look at her, sort of, you know she's a winner effectively as well, isn't she?

  • She's done so much in a relatively short career.

  • Yeah, absolutely.

  • Kaitlyn was the young player of the 2011 Women's World Cup and I think in the last couple of years it's almost like I feel like maybe she's here the little bit of fatigue and she's being in the US for quite a while and unfortunately, the reality of women's football players is they have to go for northern hemisphere lead to a Southern Hemisphere league.

  • So they're playing all year round.

  • But dangling the carrot of coming over here and playing for big clubs like Arsenal, these Premier League clubs and that when it's a one club mentality, it's it's it's pretty exciting for ourselves is if there's a bit of an Australian invasion.

  • We're taking over all of theses.

  • Haley Raso coming in Everton A swell on exciting player for Britain.

  • France?

  • Yeah.

  • Hey, the again Young up against his Queensland.

  • Also, she's one of my own.

  • She's again loves to dribble with the bullet defeat.

  • Loves to get it.

  • Defenders.

  • She's she's going to be an exciting player.

  • And with also evident signing Izzy Christensen from Leon again, Maura attacking power is going to be a good thing.

  • I think the idea of my only hesitation with all these houses coming over is coming straight in Thio the English winter because I know Sam cursed struggled with cold a little bit.

  • So Hayley, I've been Liverpool.

  • That's let's see, she warms up.

  • Let's take a look at the other players.

  • You know there'll be other player, shall we say who's come in through some of this Windsor, and it's a big one in San CA, arguably the biggest names in the game.

  • Yeah, Sam's a huge name of the game and absolutely huge signing for Chelsea.

  • I think Emma Hayes has.

  • Bean had been chasing Sam for a good couple of years and was just quite persistent with her, saying that when you're ready to come over, we'll be ready and waiting for you.

  • And I think already seeing Sam's few games, she's finally scored a debut, girls chasing her around like every girl waiting for it to school.

  • But her combination play with Beth England and G so young and behind is follows a Chelsea fan.

  • I'd be pretty excited about that.

  • And if you look at her list of Honor's supposed again, another serial winner that's come to the WSL, especially from their time in the States as well with some Yeah, she broke all sorts of gold scoring records in the N W S N W.

  • S.

  • L has done that.

  • You know she's being over in the N.

  • W s cell for eight years, and I know talking to her before the World Cup she wanted a new challenge.

  • She felt like she'd done that on Dhe.

  • This is a great opportunity and I think the quality in the style of football.

  • Already talking to Sam, she needs to improve with a back to play in her first touch and bringing in other players and combination play.

  • And already I can see her enjoying that combination and with G and Beth England as well, you know, we know she's quick, she can get in behind.

  • She couldn't score one on ones, but I think this will make her more round in a more sophisticated football.

  • So there is one point separating the top three teams at the top of the WSL Does Sam cursed signing?

  • Put Chelsea over the edge?

  • You think?

  • I think it's gonna be a tight finish that everyone keeps forgetting about men City.

  • The immensity just keep bubbling along under the radar.

  • I think everyone's talking about Arsenal on the toll season with Sam signing, but you can't discount men.

  • City have still got a quality squad.

  • I mean, Chelsea do have the game in hand so that they've got the thing advantage there.

  • But you know, from what I've seen of Chelsea there very well balanced squad and they're attacking options and the depth coming off the bench.

  • I don't think there's any other team in the WSL that that has that same depth at the moment.

  • That's where diplomatic and it's a very different I like, you know?

  • You know, I don't make a prediction just yet.

  • Quite right.

  • So just to recap the breaking news we brought you at the beginning, the hour a swell Bristol City in talks to sign Chloe cigars Oh, they are straight.

  • Another Australia International on Blue Report have signed Roy Foster, Canadian goalkeeper as well, so we will bring you the rest of the WSL transmitters, including that potential deal.

  • Well, can't afford to Arsenal in the next four hours in 17 minutes.

  • Yeah, next on transporter is Olivia Djourou's moved into Milan in doubt.

  • We'll have news for West Ham supporters, too, Is Olivier Giroud's moved into Milan in doubt.

  • Inter Korean talks with Napoli to sign former top striker Fernando Llorente on loan, according to Skye, in Italy into one of the 34 year old to be included as part of a deal which would see their wing up Matty Gopal Itano joined Napoli on an 18 month alone with an obligation to buy for just over £21 million.

  • Now if Llorente joins Inter Antonio contest, that will end their interest in signing Chelsea striker Olivier Djourou.

  • Okay, James, How will Chelsea react to this?

  • News will be quite relaxed.

  • To be honest with you, it's pretty clear this season that live Asia is not in Frank Lampard's plans.

  • He's and he started to Premier League games this season.

  • Contracts running down.

  • I think his future will be elsewhere now.

  • Thean Summerland Link.

  • I can understand from a living agent whose point of view why he would be attracted to that.

  • There was rumors of a two and 1/2 year contract, now 33 years old.

  • That's a nice end to your career.

  • Contracts of it would be quite happy with that.

  • But for a place point of view from a fan support of yours, what I want to see him play, you know, this is a proven, probably goalscorer.

  • He's also Frances.

  • Number one.

  • Striker still did hear day shops still picks him even this season when he's only started a couple of games.

  • I think he's gonna be really important in the summer.

  • Full Fronstin imitations, odor thought would want him to play as many games as possible.

  • Ah, move!

  • Might My own opinion would be to aside in need of a strike.

  • And as we know, it's quite a few in the Premier League who might need a striker in particular.

  • Maybe an Aston Villa.

  • Newcastle certainly stand out for me and let's say judo stay at Chelsea.

  • Will they still be looking for a striker?

  • Yeah, I think so.

  • Obviously we saw Tommy Abraham injured the other night.

  • Gareth Southgate must be at home at the moment, just like Oh my God, what's going on?

  • But I mean, we don't know how long he's out for the moment.

  • Obviously, did leave Thegame without a boot on, so hopefully that's good news.

  • But Lamp, I did say after that game against Arsenal that you can't say Well, definitely sign a striker, but we are looking.

  • Obviously.

  • He is Chelsea's top score of the season, 15 goals in all competitions.

  • We know Cavani is a player that the club has been linked with.

  • We know he wants to leave P s g.

  • I know you are Franklin pods.

  • Last week about Qabbani, didn't you?

  • And about their search for attacking players.

  • Yeah, I think it's being a bit of a waiting game, really For Olivier Giroud, hasn't it?

  • A CZ?

  • James rightly said.

  • I think Frank Lampard has spoken to Olivier Giroud and said, You need to go and play football and you're not going to get the number of minutes that you would like here.

  • Um now, would Chelsea let him go without getting a replacement in the talks with into Milan, have taken place on now?

  • If Shiroo was going to move to Inter Milan, you would expect then Chelsea toe have something lined up as replaced me.

  • And now whether that replacement has yet to be finalized is that why the dealers, potentially stole between Chelsea and into Milan so into are now exploring other options, so perhaps strengthen their their lineup in attacking areas and then the Matteo Politan.

  • No deal makes more sense for them if they can get Fernando your entire who fits the bill for Antonio Conte, a cZ another striker for his lineup.

  • But yeah, I mean, it's pretty obvious that Frank Lampard wants a striker whether he'll get one in this window.

  • We're finding out already.

  • It's so difficult to get strikers in.

  • But we thought that with the transfer embargo last summer would be quite good for Olivier Giroud because he might end up being first choice.

  • I think he did start the season anyway.

  • It's turned out that, given the youngsters of chances ended up doesn't help them, either.

  • No, I love this Chelsea scenario.

  • It's kind of what football fans really have been crying out for so many years.

  • Chelsea have the best academy in the country, and they produce so many talented place who'll end up playing across Europe, on loan or in the championship or league one.

  • Now they've been forced to use deploys at their disposal.

  • The you know, the young coaches that have developed all these youngsters from the age of 6789 10 right through the system and now being given their chance in the first team are actually proving that they're good enough as well.

  • You've seen it with, you know, Mason Mount, Sammy Abraham, as Emma said at the car to Maury.

  • I watch Connor Gallagher at the weekend, who just joined Swansea Online.

  • He's another really exciting prospect for certainly for next season.

  • For Frank Lampard, they got young plays that have all signed new improved contracts as well.

  • So, you know, I think Chelsea be quite relaxed at the moment.

  • If they lose a player of Olivier Giroud's quality disappointing, yes, but they've got so many young, talented players coming through.

  • I don't think they're worried too much.

  • But the most important thing is they don't become like Manchester United.

  • Do not do not let Olivier Giroud go.

  • Then you get injuries to the players you've got.

  • And then suddenly you're struggling for me.

  • Little cocky, the similarities of the cock, a gun and not replaced, not replacing him on.

  • Then obviously, you know all the pressure on restaurant.

  • He gets injured and suddenly they don't have the strength in debt.

  • And that's one thing you do not want for the second half of the season.

  • To have all these games coming thick and fast cup matches and defining Premier League games and not have as many players at your disposal is you need, I think, the issue that maybe Frank Lampard is thinking about yes, he's got all of those young players, but has he nailed down essential defensive partnership that has been chopped and changed throughout the season.

  • Tommy Abraham, we mentioned the other day, you know it was 19 attempts on goal against Newcastle last weekend, 70% possession and they didn't score.

  • I think Lampard knows that.

  • He would like some support for Tammy Abraham.

  • Callum Hudson.

  • A doy question marks from some Chelsea supported about his form coming into coming into this second half

we're back.
