Biogas Plant.
-
Why do we require anaerobic microorganisms to prepare biogas?
-
Biogas is a gas that consists of around 50-70% methane.
-
This gas is produced from the breakdown of organic and biodegradable matter by microorganisms.
-
Microorganisms can either be aerobic or anaerobic.
-
However, in the production of biogas, anaerobic microorganisms are essential.
-
This is because, only anaerobic microorganisms produce methane which is the most essential component of biogas.
-
Aerobic microorganisms do not produce that much methane as they use most of it themselves.
-
Therefore, for the production of biogas, anaerobic microorganisms are used.
