Oh yeah. I love cars so much. I've seen every single movie.

I'm pretty sure I've seen all the movies.

I'm a big fan of the whole franchise.

It was amazing.

(Finebros) So this song was created for and dedicated

- in the memory of the actor Paul Walker. - Yeah.

He was, like, favorite character in the franchise.

(Finebros) When he died, did that impact you?

Not necessarily, 'cause I had no attachment to it

since I didn't see the franchi--

I haven't seen the entire franchise.

When certain celebrities that are important to you pass away,

it just feels sort of like a part of you is gone.

Even though I don't know him and I never met him personally,

it's as if I knew him. I cried as if I knew him.

To a lot of older people,
-
you'll see somebody die on the news and stuff that was famous,
-
and kids will be like, "Who is that?"
-
But we don't really see somebody from our time that dies.
-
Everyone makes such a big hype about Michael Jackson dying
-
or this person dying or Paul Walker dying,
-
and then no one really cares about the other small people.
-
(Finebros) So Charlie Puth mentioned that,

when he wrote this song, he was thinking about a friend of his
-
who he lost at a young age as well.

When you hear a song like this,
-
does it make you think about those types of things--
-
people you've lost or the concept of losing someone?
-
Yeah.
-
It gets your brain thinking about it.
-
I end up thinking about death and what happens after death.
-
Music is powerful that way.
-
Music can make you feel so many crazy ways; it's unbelievable.
-
I'm definitely gonna have a different perspective on it
-
now that I know who it was written for.
-
When you know why it was written,
-
then you start thinking of how also it pertains to your life.
-
Maybe that's why it's really popular,
-
'cause people feel like they can relate,
-
and they feel like it's part of them too.
-
(Finebros) There's been some criticism that the song has
-
for not being that original and also that it is exploiting
-
people's feelings for Paul Walker for profit.
-
Do you think there's some merit to that criticism?
-
Yeah, definitely.
-
To me, I just think people are looking at it the wrong way.
-
It's a legitimate song about somebody's loss
-
and how they feel about it.
-
That's not the way to look at it.
-
I mean, of course you're gonna make money with it.
-
Someone is making money, even if it's a charity.
-
There's somebody out there making money
-
from someone else's sadness.
-
I think that's a cynical way to look at it.
-
I think it's a really beautiful cool thing that they did.
-
No, people always have to find something wrong with everything.
-
It makes me so mad.
-
- Why does everything have to be wrong? - Oh, it makes me so mad!

(Finebros) So finally, various songs stand the test of time
-
and future generations still know it.

Do you think is one of those songs that's going to be remembered?
-
Probably.
-
It definitely has a little bit more substance
-
that could keep it going for a while.
-
No.
-
I don't think anything is possible lasting that long anymore.

It's about Paul Walker.

And in 30 years when, sadly, Paul Walker's gonna be irrelevant,
-
this song's gonna be irrelevant also.

I hope so.

I sure hope my kids know who Paul Walker was...

that made the series what it really was.

No one can tell.
