It's a cam lock like you'd find on a Cabinet or a piece of furniture, but instead of the key, we have an electronic keypad. I installed it on this aluminum plate just to make it a little easier to demonstrate. Once you enter the correct code, the entire keypad operates like a knob, allowing you to turn the cam to the unlocked position. After a second or two, it automatically re locks. It's an interesting concept, but unfortunately the designers made a critical error. The mechanical component that keeps this from rotating when locked is a sullen oId down here in the lower left hand corner that's essentially a small electromagnetic actuator. And as I've shown you in past videos, if an internal magnet can open the lock, so too can a sufficiently powerful external magnet. Let's give that a try right now. Currently locked, unlocked, locked, unlocked. So while this is certainly an interesting concept, the execution is deeply flawed, leaving this open to a very fast and very easy bypass. In any case, that's all I have for you today, If you do have any questions or comments about this, please put them below. If you like this video and would like to see more like it, please subscribe.
